MeCam helps you record your everyday affairs casually

Have you ever wished that there were moments in your life where you could have recorded the particular conversation because a dispute rose up later on that concerned “who-said-what” – definitely a sticky situation that nobody would like. Well, here is something that might just help you out, the MeCam which has been described as a small hands-free video camera which can be pinned to a shirt or worn as a necklace, while carrying enough internal memory to capture a couple of hours of first-person footage.

After all, there are some moments in life where you are simply not ready to capture it, but wished you were. This is where the MeCam definitely comes in handy, offering the ability for one to capture those spontaneous, memorable moments using a small, hands-free video camera. Martin is the person behind the MeCam, bringing to life his vision for everyone to be able to shoot impromptu images without missing a beat.

It does not matter whether you pin it to your shirt or wear it as a necklace, the MeCam will be able to catch just about every instant from a first-person point of view, as it records each moment that happens the way users see it. You can upload the video to your computer in a jiffy over USB, and not only that, you can also share your videos using the variety of social media outlets.

Martin said, “Life moves fast, and the best moments are usually the unexpected. With a MeCam, users can now have a hands-free camera capable of recording their life on the go.”

The MeCam wearable video camera measures under two inches in diameter, and will tip the scales at under two ounces. The MeCam records video in 720p high-definition resolution at 30 frames per second, where it is powered by a lithium-ion battery for 80 minutes of non-stop run time and up to 4 hours of video storage on a microSD memory card. $49.99 does seem to make the MeCam a steal, don’t you think so?

Samsung Display brags of exceeding 300 million OLED panels produced

OLED technology has found its way into a number of products since it was invented. We’ve seen a few TVs that use OLED screens, but the incredibly high cost of TVs using the technology has kept them from the mainstream. The more common place to find OLED technology is in the mobile device market with digital cameras, smartphones, and other devices.

t769_400x400_large1_cf

One of the largest makers of OLED displays in the world is Samsung Display. The company is bragging today that it has exceeded 300 million OLED panels produced. That number comes since the company began producing displays using the technology in January 2007.

Samsung offered some interesting facts to illustrate how many panels 300 million is. If you stacked all 300 million OLED panels the company has produced on top of one another, they would be more than 68 times the height of Mount Everest. The volume produce works out to over 470,000 panels a day.

Breaking the number down further, Samsung Display produced around 5.4 panels per second. Samsung Display says that they took 4 1/2 years to reach 100 million panels produced mark. With quick adoption of the technology, the next 100 million panels were produced in only seven months. Samsung Display has 98% of the OLED market in the displays are currently used in smartphones, tablets, and digital cameras.

New Kodak branded micro four thirds camera from JK Imaging spied

Earlier this month during CES 2013, word surfaced that a company called JK Imaging had licensed the Kodak name for a line of digital cameras. The company has already plastered that Kodak brand name on its digital photography offerings and has unveiled the first digital camera in its new line of Kodak products reports eprice and Weibo. The camera is called the S1.

kodak-s1

Curiously, you can plainly see in the background of the photo here the Kodak PIXPRO Digital Camera branding. It’s unclear if this will be the S1′s official name or if that was another camera unveiled during the JK Imaging press conference. We don’t have all the details on the S1 at this point, but we do know it is a mirrorless camera.

That means a new Kodak-branded micro four thirds camera will be coming to market. If you’re somehow unfamiliar with micro four thirds cameras, they offer interchangeable lenses and significantly reduced size compared to normal DSLR cameras. That significantly reduced size is thanks to the fact that micro four thirds offerings don’t have the mirror system required of a DSLR.

The few specifications that JK Imaging is promising for the camera include Wi-Fi connectivity and apparently the camera will have some sort of smartphone interactivity. I would assume it would have the ability to shoot images over to your smartphone to share on the go. The camera is supposed to release in Q3 of this year at an unannounced price.

Olympus Stylus SH-50 iHS Point-And-Shoot Camera Announced With 5-Axis Video Stabilization

Olympus Stylus SH50 01 640x426 Olympus Stylus SH 50 iHS Point And Shoot Camera Announced With 5 Axis Video Stabilization
[CES 2013] When it comes to point-and-shoot cameras, the name already implies that these are probably the most basic cameras and will be good enough to get the job done, just don’t expect to be able to have full control over the camera that you would with a DSLR, or maybe a more prosumer camera.

That being said, Olympus could be looking to destroy that notion by announcing the Stylus SH-50, a point-and-shoot camera that not only offers a long zoom (24x 25-600mm equivalent), but at the same time offering up 5-axis video stabilization, a feature which the company is boasting makes it the first point-and-shoot camera to offer that. On top of the 5-axis video stabilization, and it should be worth noting that these features were only previously offered on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 flagship interchangeable lens camera.
