Digital Storm VELOCE brings first 13.3-inch gaming notebook with Haswell to market

This afternoon the first slimline gaming notebook with a 13.3-inch display and Haswell – that’s Intel’s 4th generation Core technology, mind you – is being unleashed on the public. This machine sports a slick customized system mark of excellence on its back with Digital Storm’s hot red cut down its back, bringing with it a system that also sports the highest-end NVIDIA GeForce GTX 700-series graphics cards under the hood.

01-Main

This machine works with a body that’s just 1.26-inches thick and brings on an Intel Core i7 4800MQ processor to team up with an NVIDIA GTX 765M graphics card. That’s the full force of NVIDIA’s vision – as we were informed earlier this year – for gaming notebooks that aren’t as massive and bulky as previous generations would have us believe they had to be.

04-Keyboard

This machine works with full HD, 1920 x 1080 pixels, that is, across its 13.3-inch display. That means you’re going to be rolling out with a display that’s more densely packed than any solution from this company in the past. Below said display is a “cold silver and grey” interior with a keyboard that’s fully back-lit.

02-Sides

Under the hood you’ve also got two storage drives (mSATA & 2.5”) with RAID capability as well as a dedicated internal network port. Also around the edges you’ll find HDMI 1.4, VGA video out, three SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports, and ethernet. The whole package then rings in at $1,535 USD, all of this coming in on July 17th – just a week away!

Digital Storm VIRTUE suggests mid-tower gaming systems need a steel boost

As the PC gaming rig ecosystem continues to expand, groups like Digital Storm stand to gain largely from those ladies and gentlemen aiming to do two things at once: work with a high-powered computer and keep a low, yet stylish profile. That’s getting pretty darn specific when you consider the start of the gaming PC

Digital Storm unveils VIRTUE performance gaming PC

When it comes to gaming, there are different levels of dedication displayed by the gamers themselves, where some of them are pretty all right with run of the mill gaming machines, while others prefer to settle for a fully customized gaming machine. The most hardcore gamers of all, however, would prefer nothing better, than to build their gaming PC from ground up, using only the choicest parts without sparing a single expense. Well, Digital Storm has had their fair share of gaming computers in the past, and this time around, their latest model to hit the deck is known as the VIRTUE performance gaming PC.

The VIRTUE performance gaming PC is the epitome of the system builder’s commitment to excellence, as well as to its customers. It comes in the form of a stunning mid-tower desktop that will boast of a brushed aluminium as well as steel exterior, where it carries benchmark crushing components, all crammed within a large, upgrade friendly interior regardless of its relatively compact footprint.

Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm’s Director of Product Development, said, “We noticed there are not many pc manufacturers designing mid-tower gaming systems with the same ardor and attention that ultra-tower PCs receive. As its name suggests, VIRTUE represents a higher standard of PC gaming, both in terms of aesthetics and performance.”

The VIRTUE’s rollout would arrive on the heels of a couple of major component launches, which so happens to be Intel’s latest fourth generation Haswell CPUs and NVIDIA’s GTX 700 series graphics cards, which further disproves the notion that all which is required for a decent gaming performance PC would be a big desktop tower. VIRTUE is able to support the entire range of high end hardware thanks to its impressive liquid cooling system, boasting up to five fans alongside a massive 240mm radiator. In fact, it is capable of handling the Level 4 VIRTUE’s overclocked Intel Core i7 4770K CPU and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN 6GB graphics card without breaking a sweat, all the while having room for a whole lot more upgrades – such as room for dual video cards, a couple of hard drives and a quartet of SSDs.

Digital Storm goes after DIY gaming PCs with its $699 Vanquish (video)

Digital Storm declares DIY gaming PCs dead with its new Vanquish line

Dear rig builder, before you go shopping for your next PSU, Digital Storm would like a word. The company’s new line of Vanquish PCs is aimed at gamers who want the price of a self-build, but without the worry that they’ve mistakenly jammed a 12V ATX cable into a Blu-Ray drive. The base unit offers up an AMD FX-4300 with 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, a Radeon HD 7750 and Windows 7 for $699 — just $38 more than the company claims you could snag those unassembled parts on NewEgg. Alongside the professional build, Digital Storm will provide lifetime in-house tech support and a three-year warranty, so if you’d like to learn more, there’s PR and video after the break.

Digital Storm Hailstorm II Is Pure Gaming PC PedigreeIf you are one who cannot get enough of benchmarks, and are always on the lookout to ensure that your hardware is on the cutting edge of things, then you might want to consider picking up the Digital Storm Hailstorm II, assuming your current gaming PC is on its last legs, and is long overdue for a replacement. The Digital Storm Hailstorm II comes with enough space to stash up to a quartet of radiators (ranging from 140mm to 480mm sizes), in addition to a quadruple GPU and dual CPU configuration, allowing you to arrive at an unprecedented level of performance and customization.

There will also be three front intake fans and a large rear exhaust fan to ensure that cooling within the system is maximized, and if your budget permits, you can include up to 15 fans in total, making the Hailstorm II carry one of the most powerful airflow designs available, while delivering prolonged stability and making sure that every component will be able to operate at peak performance with zero heat related bottlenecks.

Digital Storm Bolt Is Thinnest Gaming PC In The World

Digital Storm Bolt Is Thinnest Gaming PC In The WorldI would like to think that Digital Storm’s claim that their Bolt is the thinnest gaming PC in the world is limited to those mass produced models, and not hand-crafted ones. Heck, even a custom made gaming PC chassis would be tricky if it were to measure 3.6 inches wide, so I guess that the Bolt does have its fair share of success to that claim.

In fact, Digital Storm has announced that they will be offering a Titan Edition of its award winning Bolt, and thanks to the inclusion of the spanking new NVIDIA GTX Titan (which is the world’s fastest graphics card), it will make use of similar technology that powers Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Titan, which has been deemed to be the world’s fastest supercomputer.

How can something so slim remain cool operationally? This was made possible by the Bolt’s unique ventilation system, making the Bolt one of the only systems in its class that is capable of handling the powerful GTX Titan. There are vents located near each critical component, not to mention large top and rear vents that do their bit to eliminate any stagnant air remaining within the system, while there is also a dedicated air channel that was created by a slotted side vent to cool the power supply.

Having said that, the Digital Storm Bolt Titan Edition is not going to come cheap – at $2,499 a pop.

Digital Storm Unveils Aventum II Gaming Rig With New Cooling System

Aventum II 01 640x465 Digital Storm Unveils Aventum II Gaming Rig With New Cooling System[CES 2013] Digital Storm is a name known by gamers as a company that puts out some pretty decent gaming computers, both desktop and laptop, and it looks like for CES 2013, the company has taken the wraps off their latest gaming rig in the form of the Aventum II, the successor to 2012’s Aventum which was primarily known for its liquid cooling system. Since gaming rigs tend to draw a lot of power, a good cooling system needs to be in place to ensure that the machine stays properly cooled and that’s what Digital Storm is hoping to achieve with the Aventum II by introducing nickel plated copper piping.

According to Digital Storm, not only will the addition of the copper piping on top of the Aventum’s proprietary cooling design aid with system durability, but as you can see in the image above, it certainly adds on to the aesthetic appeal of the entire machine. Digital Storm has also introduced a newly designed control board that allows the user to control up to 22 additional fans via an exclusive piece of software. The interior of the Aventum II has also been redesigned, with the thermal compartment now divided into two separate channels which should reduce air congestion. Pricing of the Aventum II has yet to be confirmed.

Digital Storm Bolt stuffs full-power graphics into a mini gaming desktop, stretches laws of physics

Digital Storm Bolt stuffs fullpower graphics into a mini gaming PC

Attempts to create truly small gaming desktops usually involve at least some kind of performance hit. Even HP’s category-bending Firebird, one of the few stand-out examples, had to use toned-down graphics to succeed in a tiny enclosure. Digital Storm might have broken the trend towards sacrifice with its new Bolt desktop: although it’s just 3.6 inches wide and 14 inches tall, the Bolt can cram in as much as a GeForce GTX 680 and will even let gamers upgrade the graphics like they would in a full-size PC. The seemingly logic-defying (if also finger-defying) case still allows room for as much as an overclocked 4.6GHz Core i7, 16GB of RAM and storage options that meld a spinning hard drive with up to two SSDs and a DVD burner. Digital Storm isn’t even setting an absurd base price, but it’s in the cost that we finally see the catch to the miniaturization tricks. The $999 entry-level Bolt carries a modest 3.1GHz Core i3, 8GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive and GeForce GTX 650 Ti, while it takes a staggering $1,949 to get a fully decked-out Core i7 system with a GTX 680. Those prices might be worthwhile for anyone who has ever strained while lugging a traditional tower to a game tourney.

Digital Storm’s Bolt gaming machine claims to be future-proof

Of course, we would not expect anyone to take Digital Storm’s claim for their Bolt gaming PC to be future-proof, as any gamer worth his or her salt knows that this is not how the gaming world works, especially when it comes to hardware. Still, if you are interested to see what the Bolt is all about, read on – it comes with a custom designed chassis that delivers an extremely pleasing thin form factor to the eyes, without sacrificing on room for future upgradability, with most of the grunt work being borne by a 4.6GHz overclocked CPU.

The Bolt measures a mere 3.6” wide and is 14” tall, where its thin chassis was specially designed to effectively dissipate heat despite holding the most updated and fastest components on the market. Capable of holding up to three hard drives, a couple of SSDs and 1 mechanical, you know that it has unparalleled storage flexibility – at least for a home-based gaming rig. Prices for the Digital Storm Bolt start from $999 upwards, depending on the hardware configuration of your choice, so take your pick.
