Fans of Assassin’s Creed 4, here is some good news to help you start the day right – the first DLC for the gaming franchise is made available already, and do bear in mind that this DLC will concentrate on just the multiplayer aspect, so do not get too excited if you prefer to fly it solo most of the time. The DLC, known as Blackbeard’s Wrath, will see the introduction of a trio of new characters to the roster, where they will obviously include the notorious Blackbeard himself, accompanied by a pair of rather stereotypical ethnic characters.
The other two choices apart from Blackbeard would be the the Chinese and Aztec Assassins. One of them has been given the name “The Orchid,” while the other is better known as “The Jaguar”, and without having to let you know which is which, you would already be able to figure out the owner of the respective monikers. Just a quick note – folks who already have the Black Flag Season Pass, you would not need to fork out a single cent for the DLC. As for the rest of the masses (meaning those who own a PC, Xbox or PlayStation console), it will cost you $2.99 a pop.

Total War: Rome 2 ‘Caesar In Gaul’ DLC Sees Addition Of Maps, Units And Factions
Posted in: Today's ChiliDo you love large scale war games, where you play the role of a general and lead your men to victory (or defeat, depending on your battle savvy tactics, or the lack of it)? I am quite sure that you would have been exposed to Rome 2 before, and this time around, we have word that the first major Rome 2 DLC is all set to roll out sometime next week.
SEGA’s announcement of Total War: Rome 2 ‘Caesar in Gaul’, happens to be the first major DLC pack for Creative Assembly’s historic strategy title. Caesar in Gaul will feature a new campaign map, which happens to be an expanded map of Gaul as well as southern Britannia, where those will be accompanied by 18 provinces for you to subjugate. Of course, things get trickier with additional new factions, units and for history buffs, a new historical battle. You will have to take your pick between four factions – the Gallic Arverni, the Germanic Suebi, the Belgic Nervii and Rome. Creative director Mike Simpson shared, “We’ve released a number of DLC packs and free content updates for ROME II, but this is our most substantial so far. We’ve always planned to focus more closely on some of the key conflicts of the ancient world, and Caesar’s war in Gaul is the ideal place to start. We’ve also improved the game considerably since launch, and that process continues as we move onto substantial feature and gameplay improvements.”
If you are interested, Caesar in Gaul will be available for you to download this December 12 for £9.99 a pop.

Are you a huge fan of the Assassin’s Creed franchise? If you have answered in the affirmative, then you would definitely have given Assassin’s Creed 4 a go already, and this time around, we have a spanking new single player DLC that has been unveiled where it will star shipmate Adewale. The time setting? A good 15 years of clock fast forwarding is required. This is the first single player DLC for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag from Ubisoft, where it is tipped to launch before March 2014 rolls around. In Freedom Cry, one will be able to enjoy nine missions of “self-contained” single-player story.
Ubisoft mentioned, “Born a slave, Adewale found freedom as a pirate aboard the Jackdaw as Captain Edward Kenway’s second-in-command. Fifteen years later, Adewale has become a trained assassin and finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue with no weapon nor crew, starting a new adventure of his own.”
This particular content will be made available as part of a Season Pass, where one will be able to enjoy a 20% discount after purchasing each piece of AC4′s upcoming DLC on an individual basis. Apart from that, the Season Pass will also include additional single-player missions, weapons, skins and collectibles, not to mention new multiplayer characters.

When the new SimCity game launched earlier this year, it caught a huge amount of flack for requiring an Internet connection to play and bunch of server issues that prevented many gamers from playing for a long time. Those launch woes are behind the game now, and Maxis has announced its first expansion pack is coming on November 15.
The expansion pack will be available for PC and Mac gamers and is called SimCity: Cities of Tomorrow. The expansion pack is set 50 years in the future from the original game and brings a number of new technologies and planning techniques for your cities. Keep in mind that game does still require an Internet connection to play.
One of the complaints of the most recent SimCity was that larger maps were needed to allow people to build bigger cities. The expansion pack doesn’t expand the city size, but does introduce MegaTowers that allow players to build their cities vertically. The expansion also includes an exclusive disaster and a new villain in the form of a corporation that strip mines resources and pollutes the environment.

There are some gaming titles that are classified as surefire blockbusters, while others might not be so commercially successful, but are deemed to be classics that need to be played at least once in your lifetime. I will leave it to you as to how you want to categorize XCOM: Enemy Unknown, considering it proved to be one of the most uniquely compelling games that rolled out last year, but unfortunately, the DLC (downloadable content) for this game has been deemed to be just “too big” for consoles.
The soon to arrive DLC, known as Enemy Within, will comprise of a ton of upgrades and content, where among them includes new unit types and even skill alterations. This would mean a total re-release of the game, which is why we are due to check out the special Commander’s Edition. This particular edition will boast of the original game, Slingshot and Elite Soldier add-ons, as well as the Enemy Within expansion. If you are interested in just purchasing the DLC, it will be available on the PC and Mac platforms for $30 a pop.
Firaxis Games senior producer Garth DeAngelis said, “For the expansion on the PC, it was fairly straightforward. But when it came to the consoles, it was too big. If we wanted to deliver the same content to the console players, we had to do it this way as a standalone expansion on a disc. We couldn’t simply just patch it in.”
