We know there are many fans of Ghibli movies out there who have had a long, patient wait for a new movie from Director Hayao Miyazaki. His new movie, “Kaze Tachinu”, will be released on July 20 in Japan.

It’s an animation movie about the life of Jiro Horikoshi. He had dreamed of becoming a designer of airplanes and finally made his dream come true. However, the time was around World War II and what he created was a famous fighter aircraft A6M “Zero” to kill people. The movie will show his life and inner conflict.

Studio Ghibli already announced that Hideaki Anno, who is best known as film director of the Evangelion series, will play the leading voice part of Jiro. Other famous and popular actors/actresses have also joined the cast as voice actors.

Japanese LEGO enthusiast Moko says it took him three years to complete this masterpiece. The figure stands nearly 4′ tall and weighs almost 21lbs. Its torso is just a tad too bulky, but honestly I didn’t think you could make something this slim and articulated using LEGO pieces. It even has proper joints! Plus the colors are spot on.

Pentax parades Evangelionflavored Q10s

We’ve seen Neon Genesis Evangelion-branded devices for quite awhile now, and as a testament to the garish-hued series’ longevity, Pentax has announced a special edition, show-themed Q10 series of its own. It’ll release a mere 1,500 of the models in Evangelion heroine shades, starting with the Eva-01 model shown above at a price of 59,800 Yen ($660 or so). Besides showing your love for ’90s anime, that sum will get you a 12.4-megapixel, mirrorless interchangeable shooter capable of Full HD video, while filling out the already-bounteous Q10 color choices from the hue-loving outfit. Stateside fans of the show will likely be disappointed though — it’ll only be sold in Japan, starting in April. Check the source to see the other colors.

Evangelion humidifier relies on steam in design

Are you a fan of the Evangelion series – story, characters and all? If you have answered in the affirmative, then here is a wee bit of news that might just capture your attention. Known as the Evangelion humidifier (no prizes for guessing just what this puppy is able to churn out), it does roll back the years and return you to memories of the scene where the Nerv building is destroyed by the Third Children using Eva 01. The humidifier works great behind the scenes, as it actually relies on the steam that rises up to throw in a touch of realism in this classic Evangelion scene.

Not only will your skin get enough moisture when you sleep at night while leaving the Evangelion humidifier on, there is also a combination of lights located right around the base which offers some light in pitch black darkness, while the tip can be used as a simple nightlight to fend off monsters underneath the bed. The Evangelion humidifier seems slated for a November release, with a price tag that ought to hover around the $200 after conversion.
