Fujitsu QH77/M Waterproof Tablet

Fujitsu QH77/M Waterproof TabletEarlier this morning, we did manage to get a closer look at a couple of Ultrabooks from Japanese manufacturer, Fujitsu, and this time around, here we are with a tablet – the Fujitsu QH77/M. The Fujitsu QH77/M will be a tablet with a twist – where it will arrive with waterproof capability, now how about that? Even more interesting is the fact that the Fujitsu QH77/M tablet will arrive with an extractor fan that will still be able to work when it is underwater.

Measuring 12.5” in size, it will be powered by Intel’s 1.6GHz Core i5-4200U processor which more or less has built up a reputation of its own for requiring a fair degree of cooling to a certain extent most of the time. Needless to say, you can forget about dropping the Fujitsu QH77/M into your bathtub and hope for the extractor fan to move fast enough to propel it under the water’s surface, as the tablet itself is simply too heavy for the extractor fan to generate enough torque so that it will chug along nicely. Even if it could, what would be next? Perhaps the inclusion of a built-in periscope, don’t you think so? Even then, pricing details of the Fujitsu QH77/M remains to be known.

Well, the folks over at Fujitsu have just announced the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T904, which has been described as a 13.3” premium Ultrabook convertible that will boast of an IGZO display at 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, tipping the scales at under 3.3lbs which should make it a snap to tote around. One of the main features of the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T904 would be its user-exchangable battery that will certainly come in handy during those situations when you need to swap out a battery when you are on a roadshow with absolutely no time at all to return to your hotel room to juice it up.

Apart from that, the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T904 comes with a bi-directional super high-definition rotatable display that would be ideal for presentations in a small group, in addition to a dual digitizer for pen and finger input, and of course, what seems to be a staple these days – a backlit keyboard so that you can work late into the night in bed without having to disturb your other half by turning on the light. KDDI Winter Smartphone Range Sees LG isai, Fujitsu Arrows Z, Kyocera Digno M, And Sharp Aquos Series DebutWho would have thought that one of these days, smartphones would have ended up like fashion statements, where there are actually phones released just in time for the winter season to match a drab colored wardrobe? Fujitsu FingerLink Merges Virtual With Physical Interaction

Fujitsu FingerLink Merges Virtual With Physical Interaction[CEATEC 2013] I am quite sure that many of us are familiar with the fictional Tony Stark’s genius, and his artificial intelligence system at home, J.A.R.V.I.S., along with the kind of fancy computing hardware that can be manipulated using his hands alone via gestures, tend to be the kind of wet dream that geeks can only think of. Fujitsu might be working on a device that has the future in mind, in the form of the Fujitsu FingerLink.

This particular solution looks rather magical, where it relies on a top-mounted camera that is capable of converting physical objects into virtual objects. In other words, place the front page of a newspaper under the FingerLink system’s camera, and you can use your finger to trace out a photo or a news snippet, before “pushing” them to the side. When done, remove the newspaper itself, and you can use your fingers to manipulate the virtual cut out newspaper segments that are now in a digital format. This is definitely the kind of system that public and university libraries could make do with to bring a breath of fresh air to the mix, and who knows? We might have a Tony Stark wannabe in the midst who could end up inspired by such technology that he or she ends up as a billionaire, playboy, philanthropist eventually.

    Fujitsu Sleepiness Detection Sensor

Fujitsu Sleepiness Detection Sensor[CEATEC 2013] Some folks absolutely love driving, whether it is in the morning or at night, as it offers a rather therapeutic feeling. The thing is, driving is no longer fun whenever you get stuck in a traffic jam, as it would certainly cause your blood pressure to boil (and hopefully, your car’s radiator will not experience the same thing). Other people, however, do not like driving at all, and for some of us who have no choice but to be behind the wheel even after a long day at work, there is a risk of having drowsiness take over. Fujitsu hopes to prevent such a thing from happening with their real-time drowsiness detection technology that would hopefully prevent the driver from nodding off.

How does Fujitsu’s Sleepiness Detection Sensor work? Well, the driver would wear a wireless heart rate sensor around ear, where data will be sent over to a monitoring data center. Once the level of drowsiness is analyzed based on the pulse fluctuations, the driver would receive a warning. Will it be able to lower the number of accidents caused by drowsiness on the road? Hopefully. After all, prevention is better than cure, and in the case of a MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident), some cases do not come with a second chance.

Fujitsu’s latest Arrows Tab packs a multi-user fingerprint reader

Fujitsu's latest Arrows Tab packs 2,560 x 1,600 display, fingerprint reader

For Fujitsu, fingerprint readers on smartphones are old hat; on Android tablets, however, they’re still rare. The company should make those sensors easier to find with its latest Arrows Tab, the FJT21. The 10.1-inch slate uses its fingerprint reader to streamline Android 4.2’s multi-user support, signing anyone in with a swipe. Families can also implement both a simple mode for newcomers and a content-restricted kids’ mode. Fujitsu isn’t leaning solely on sign-in technology to sell its tablet, though. The FJT21 centers on a 2,560 x 1,600 LCD with Gorilla Glass 3 protection; under the hood, there’s a fast 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and 64GB of expandable storage. Japan’s KDDI will ship an LTE-equipped version of the new Arrows Tab in late November. Sadly, it’s doubtful that we’ll see an equivalent model reach the US.
