US Cellular’s Samsung Galaxy S4 To Receive Android 4.3 Update This Friday

US Cellulars Samsung Galaxy S4 To Receive Android 4.3 Update This FridayHeads up Samsung Galaxy S4 users, if you’re a subscriber of US Cellular’s services, you might be interested to learn  that according to a leaked schedule obtained by the folks at Android Police, it seems that you guys can look forward to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for your devices come 8th of November, assuming that nothing happens from now until then that could potentially delay the update. In fact the leaked schedule (pictured above) states that the update should begin rolling out starting from 9AM in the morning, but presumably it will be a staggered roll out so fret not if the time rolls around and you have not received the update yet.

We’re sure Samsung Galaxy S4 owners would much rather receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update, but we guess Android 4.3 Jelly Bean should be better than nothing, or at least it’s something to tide you guys over until Samsung and US Cellular manage to roll out the Android 4.4 update to you guys, which we have no idea when that will be taking place. The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean build R970TYURMJA will add support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, improve performance and display quality, add new camera and TouchWiz features, functionality, and more.

AT&T Galaxy S4 Zoom Launches November 8th For $199 On Contract

AT&T Galaxy S4 Zoom Launches November 8th For $199 On Contract

Samsung launched its Galaxy S4 flagship smartphone earlier this year and followed it release up with a few variants, which include the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active and the Galaxy S4 Zoom. AT&T already carries the S4, and S4 Active while it has confirmed that S4 mini will be available from it. So that just leaves out the 10x optical zoom lens touting Galaxy S4 Zoom, which is going to be launched by AT&T on November 8th for $199 on contract, the carrier has confirmed today.

By adding this device to its lineup, AT&T becomes the first carrier in the U.S. to launch the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. Customers who don’t want to be tied to a conventional two year contract can purchase the device on AT&T’s Next plan as well, opting to pay $25 per month instead. Even though it is a variant of the S4, its specifications are quite different from the flagship model. The S4 Zoom has a 4.3 inch 960×540 display, a 1.5GHz dualcore processor, 2,330mAh battery a 1.5GB of RAM. The camera is obviously the selling point, this device has a 16 megapixel camera with a 10x optical zoom lens, it beats out a number of smartphone cameras as it comes with a xenon flash instead of the LED alternative used by the others. That’s not all, AT&T will also give a free Galaxy Tab 3 to eligible customers who purchase the smartphone with a qualified voice and data plan, though the tablet will require a new two year data plan of its own from AT&T.

A Galaxy S4 Active Mini Might Be on Its Way

This phone here appears to be yet another miniature version of a popular full size model, with official filings revealing something we suspect might end up being known as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Mini. Could do with a smaller name, too.

Sprint Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Update Rolling Out Today

Sprint Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Update Rolling Out Today

A timetable was leaked last week which listed the Android 4.3 release dates for certain Samsung devices on major U.S. carriers. Verizon’s Galaxy S4 received the update day before yesterday, as mentioned in the timetable. Sprint Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update has started to roll out today, on the exact day that was mentioned in the leaked timetable. Apart from bringing an updated Android OS version, the update also brings the much awaited Galaxy Gear support to Galaxy S4 units on Sprint.

As previously mentioned, the update brings Android 4.3 and Galaxy Gear support. It also brings support for Samsung KNOX security software. There are bound to be a number of minor tweaks, changes and improvements as well, though they haven’t been detailed in the changelog. The update itself weighs in at 537MB, so it would be a good idea to download it over a Wi-Fi connection. Just remember to have ample juice in the battery before proceeding with the installation, its best to plug in the device and let the update download and install itself. Its not unusual for carriers to send over-the-air update notifications in stages, so even if you don’t immediately see your device prompting that an update is available, be assured that its definitely going to drop very soon.

Verizon Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Update Build VRUEMJ7 Might Roll Out Today

Verizon Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Update Build VRUEMJ7 Might Roll Out Today

Samsung confirmed earlier today that the much awaited Android 4.3 update for U.S. variants of the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 will be rolled out starting today. Just yesterday we saw a leaked document hint at Verizon Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 release on October 28th, which is today. It appears that Verizon may indeed roll out the update later today, Samsung has already gone live with the changelog so its only a matter of time before the update is pushed out over-the-air, barring any last minute issues.

The Verizon Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update build VRUEMJ7 is going to bump up the core OS to Android 4.3 and enable Band 4 LTE. It is also finally going to bring support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch to the Galaxy S4. Support for Samsung KNOX is also going to be added through this update. It appears that Verizon is leading the charge this time around with regards to OS update. Sprint is expected to roll out Android 4.3 on October 30th, followed by AT&T and T-Mobile on 13th and 18th of November respectively. Though as yet, Verizon hasn’t released a confirmation that the update is indeed coming today. So just sit back and keep your fingers crossed, hopefully an OTA update notification will drop shortly.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Hits 40 Million Units Sold Worldwide

Samsung Galaxy S4 Hits 40 Million Units Sold WorldwideDespite the critics slamming Samsung for the use of plastic again in their Galaxy S4 handset, there is no denying the handset’s popularity which was only been on the rise thanks to its predecessors. Samsung’s CEO, JK Shin, has recently announced that the South Korean tech giant has managed to sell an impressive 40 million Galaxy S4 units worldwide to date since the device’s release about 6 months ago. This 40 million figure is a followup from the company’s announcement a few months ago where they announced 30 million in four months, and 20 million in two months.

In any case as expected, the Galaxy S4 has managed to beat out its predecessor, the Galaxy S3 who sold 40 million units in seven months, so it will definitely be interesting to see how well the Galaxy S5 will perform. As it stands there are rumours suggesting that the Galaxy S5 will feature a metal body, hopefully appealing to its detractors, but at the same time there are rumours that claim otherwise.

Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE Headed To Europe

Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE Headed To EuropeThere seems to be a fair share of Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone models out in the market, and depending on which region that you live in, the model number differs. Those who happen to live in South Korea would have been able to take advantage of an LTE-A-equipped Samsung Galaxy S4 that boasts of a speedy Snapdragon 800 CPU underneath the hood, while folks living elsewhere had to settle for an Exynos 5 or Snapdragon 600 processor, which did not seem to be fair at all.

More than two months ago, it seems that we heard about the possibility of the Galaxy S4 LTE model headed for Europe, bearing the model number GT-I9506. Since good things always come to those who wait, a GT-I9506 product page has already made an appearance on Samsung’s German site. This would mean the CPU in that particular model would make it be on a level fighting ground with the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note 3 flagship device, in addition to the other flagships from rival smartphone manufacturers such as Nokia and LG.

While no European countries are known to actually support the 150Mbps LTE-A speeds, it is always nice to have hardware that does before the rest of the infrastructure falls into place.

Samsung Galaxy S4 I9506 with LTE+ and Snapdragon 800 hits Europe

Many Android smartphone users in Europe that are fans of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone have been rather jealous of users on SK Telecom because those South Korean users were the only ones able to get the version of the Galaxy S4 using a Snapdragon 800 processor and LTE+. Samsung Galaxy Gear Now Compatible With Galaxy S4, S3 And Note 2

Samsung Galaxy Gear Now Compatible With Galaxy S4, S3 And Note 2

The Samsung Galaxy Gear has understandably received mixed reviews among the majority of the tech world, but what didn’t help is the device was only limited to be used along with the Galaxy Note 3. This left many who already owned a Samsung device out in the cold, but the company has apparently opened the doors for its Galaxy Gear to be compatible with a number of previously released Samsung devices, such as the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Note 2.
