PayPal Fingerprint Authorization For Verizon’s Galaxy S5 Workaround Discovered

PayPal Fingerprint Authorization For Verizons Galaxy S5 Workaround DiscoveredOne of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is its fingerprint scanner. Not only can this scanner be used to secure the device, but it can also be used to authorize PayPal payments, making it a cinch to perform payments and transfers without the need to enter a password. Unfortunately for Verizon’s version of the Galaxy S5, the carrier decided to disable the feature for some unknown reason, but thankfully there’s a way to get it working.

According to a post on the XDA Developers forumm a workaround has been discovered that will allow users to activate the feature on their phone, although we should note that this is an unofficial method so do proceed with caution. There are a couple of steps involved, all of which appear to be pretty straightforward and you don’t really need to be particularly tech savvy in order to get it up and running.

The trick behind the method is to access a hidden Samsung apps store and install the PayPal app and the NNL Fingerprint Passport service, which will then allow you to proceed to register your fingerprint to use with PayPal. Like we said this is unofficial and given that PayPal involves money, we suggest you might want to be a bit careful going about it.

Once again we’re not sure why Verizon has decided to disable fingerprint authorization for PayPal but if you really want the feature, then perhaps this workaround could be worth checking out.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime Spotted In Manifest (Rumor)

Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime Spotted In Manifest (Rumor)When you roll out a successful device that comes jam packed with the latest and greatest hardware, such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 (as you can see above), does it make sense then to begin tweaking on this particular template so that a variant, or variants, will be released? The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime has been seen on a shipping manifest in India which is yet another rather strong hint of the upcoming smartphone’s reveal. This particular manifest that leaked out the information did not reveal anything more other than the model number SM-G906K, and it seems to be on its way to India from South Korea “R&D Purpose”, with Samsung shipping three of these devices in total.

Of course, it takes perfect sense to see this with a pinch of salt, since anyone can come up with a leak, and such a document is not that difficult to forge. Still, this happens to be one of the more concrete and strong hints that we have come across to date, where the Galaxy S5 Prime ought to arrive in an all metal body that is accompanied by superior grade hardware including an eye watering 2K resolution display, 3GB RAM, a speedy Snapdragon 805 chipset, 32GB of internal memory and the likes.

10 Hidden Features Of Samsung Galaxy S5

samsung-galaxy-s5-review-031

Samsung has a habit of loading feature packed software on its premium smartphones, not that I’m complaining, though this often makes it hard for the average user to figure out just how all of them work. Most users don’t go beyond some of the device’s biggest features, which are often touted in advertisements and promotional materials. Fact is, often there are quite a few features that go unnoticed. Not to worry though, the 10 hidden features of Samsung Galaxy S5 list created by the company itself has your back.

For example, one feature that exists in the 22 quick menu icons inside Setting app’s Display menu lets you increase the touch sensitivity of Galaxy S5′s display. Enabling this lets you interact with the touchscreen display even if you’re wearing gloves. It is actually so sensitive that you can even write on it with a pencil.

Other features described in the list include Kids Mode, which the company talked a great deal about at the launch event. It has a completely different user experience design that keeps kids occupied while keeping important data and content not suitable for them away. The mode can be used to allow and restrict access to apps and media content stored on the device.

The 10 hidden features of Galaxy S5 list is certainly an interesting read. Do check it out if you already own the device and want to be sure that you’re getting the best possible user experience.

As any high-profile device, the Galaxy S5 generates excitement, passion and sometime controversy. The expectations can run high and any disappointment can become noisy and virulent. However important, expectations don’t make a product good or bad, but a solid set of functions (or the lack of) can.

Trade In Site Sees One Third Of Galaxy S5 Buyers Switching From iPhone

Samsung’s 2014 flagship was one of the most hotly anticipated devices of this year. At MWC in February the company finally unveiled the Galaxy S5. It went on sale on April 11th in more than 150 countries around the world. A lot of customers will be upgrading from their existing phones to get their hands on this new flagship. Mobile trade-in website CompareMyMobile saw over one third, 38 percent to be precise, of all Galaxy S5 customers shifting from an iPhone.

According to the website, it witnessed a 210 percent rise in customers who traded in their iPhone 4S units in order to get a Galaxy S5. The second most traded device after the outdated iPhone was Samsung’s very own Galaxy S3 which saw a 196 percent rise in trade-ins. iPhone 5s came in third place with a 184 percent rise.

Majority of the iPhone 4S and Galaxy S3 owners may already have been itching to switch given that their two year service contracts were most likely up. Though its interesting to note that a great deal of iPhone 5s owners also opted to switch for Samsung’s latest flagship.

Samsung itself now expects the Galaxy S5 to do much better in this quarter than it had initially expected. The company hopes to ship as many as 35 million Galaxy S5 units within this quarter.

Samsung’s Galaxy Phones To Get Custom Amazon Kindle Book Store

Samsungs Galaxy Phones To Get Custom Amazon Kindle Book StoreThe Amazon Kindle app is available to download on both iOS and Android devices and it basically gives users access to Amazon’s library of ebooks. Of course the experience might be different compared to reading it on a Kindle device which uses an e-ink display, but for those who’d rather not have to carry around two separate devices, the Kindle app will do in a pinch.

However it seems that Samsung will now be getting their very own custom-built Kinde book store, thanks to a deal that Samsung and Amazon have struck up with one another. As it stands it seems that this offer is limited to the Samsung Galaxy S5 but additional Samsung Galaxy devices will soon be added to the list.

What the deal does is that it offers Galaxy owners who have been referred to the service 12 free books every year. They will get four prominent titles to choose from every month, which apparently have been chosen for Galaxy owners in mind. We’re not sure what kind of books Galaxy owners like to read since that’s pretty presumptuous, but hopefully the titles will be mainstream ones at least, so as to appeal to a wider range of readers.

Samsung seems to be on a roll regarding these exclusive services. About a week ago, it was announced that Samsung and Deezer partnered up to offer Galaxy S5 users an exclusive streaming deal. They have also announced Samsung Milk Music which is a little odd given their deal with Deezer, but it’s still an alternative nonetheless. It seems that Samsung is truly doing everything they can to get users to hop on board its products.

In any case for those interested in the Kindle deal Amazon and Samsung have agreed upon, it seems that the deal and customized book store is expected to launch in the next two weeks. Hopefully additional details will be revealed before then.

Activate Download Booster In Verizon And AT&T Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a feature called Download Booster. What is basically does is that it combines Wi-Fi and LTE to substantially increase download speeds when a file larger than 30MB is being downloaded. It was previously reported that Verizon and AT&T blocked Download Booster on their Galaxy S5 variants. As it turns out the feature exists on their variants, its merely been hidden. So its possible to activate download booster on Verizon and AT&T Galaxy S5.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Vs .50 Caliber Rifle: Fight!

There is plenty that the new Samsung Galaxy S5 is, where it is capable of being water resistant, laughs at the colony of dust bunnies in your home, being full well capable of shooting some very high quality video along the way, but one thing it is not – bulletproof. Sure, we have seen the Galaxy S5 go through some rather abusive tests in the past, including falling under the drop of a hammer, but Rick Ryan, the “tech assassin,” has decided to send the Samsung Galaxy S5 to the firing range and see how it stacks up against a .50-caliber Barrett.

Of course, the entire appeal of Ryan’s effort has nothing to do with the real time destruction of the Galaxy S5, but rather, the slow motion video capture (it would be really ironic if it were to be another Galaxy S5 that recorded everything that happened in 4K glory, but I digress) that will let you see what happens when a bullet rips through this technological marvel.

Needless to say, no smartphone has managed to come out unscathed after being hit directly with a bullet, although we have heard an instance of the iPhone possibly saving a soldier’s life while he was on duty in Afghanistan.

Samsung Galaxy S5 4K UHD Footage Recorded

I am quite sure that by now, most of us would know that the Samsung Galaxy S5, a flagship device from the South Korean manufacturer, has made its mark in many different markets throughout the world. I would not recommend putting it through the nasty “hammer” test however, but you can surely place it under a running tap just to test out its IP67 certified credentials. Having said that, there are many different features found on the Samsung Galaxy S5 that are worth talking about, but its ability to shoot 4K, or Ultra High Definition (UHD) video is definitely worth checking out, as you can see for yourself in the video above.

After viewing the Galaxy S5’s ability to record memories for good in 4K resolution, would it make you run out and place an order for this flagship device? Sure, there are some flaws associated with the Samsung Galaxy S5 since there is no such thing as a perfect smartphone to date, but at the end of the day, it really boils down to what you would like to do with the smartphone, and how it is going to fit into your existing lifestyle. Do take note that its fingerprint scanning ability can be spoofed.
