Galaxy S5 Mini Could Be The SM-G870

Galaxy S5 Mini Could Be The SM G870

Now that the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been officially announced, we must turn towards the possibility of multiple variants of this flagship being launched. It certainly won’t be a new thing, just last year Samsung released a few variants of the Galaxy S4. One of the first variants that we normally see after a flagship comes out is its “mini” version, essentially a watered down variant that offers mid-range specifications at a relatively low price. An import tracking website has ousted an unknown Samsung phone carrying model number SM-G870a, it is believed that this might be the Galaxy S5 mini.

Samsung ‘S-Circle’ Activity Tracker Pops Up At FCC

Samsung S Circle Activity Tracker Pops Up At FCC

Samsung is one of the biggest vendors that is venturing deep into the wearable device arena. Recently it showed off two new Galaxy Gear smartwatches as well as the Gear Fit fitness tracker. These wearable devices were all launched alongside the Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress 2014. All this despite the fact that the wearable devices it released last year didn’t have a good run. Perhaps Samsung is going with its much debated “gadget spam” strategy once again, this time focusing it on the wearable market. Apparently there’s yet another such device up Samsung’s sleeve, an activity tracker called “S-Circle,” which has popped up at the FCC.

Lumia 1520 Beats Out Galaxy S5 For Gaming, According To Benchmarks

Lumia 1520 Beats Out Galaxy S5 For Gaming, According To BenchmarksGaming on our mobile phones has certainly come a long way from titles such as Sudoku and Snake which were some of the only options that mobile phones had back in the day. Nowadays we’re playing games with impressive graphics, like the Infinity Blade franchise, N.O.V.A 3, and Shadowgun just to name a few.

There are smartphone users out there who treat their mobile phone as portable consoles, so the question is which smartphone should one use if they wanted to play games on? Naturally one’s mind might gravitate to the latest hardware, but surprisingly last year’s Nokia Lumia 1520 managed to be crowned instead. (more…)

    Galaxy S5 “Driving Mode” Leaked

    Galaxy S5 Driving Mode Leaked

Even though the Galaxy S5 hasn’t made it in the public’s hands as yet, it has been well received by folks who were able to take it for a spin at Mobile World Congress 2014. That’s because this time around Samsung shunned gimmicky features and focused on improving the user experience, which it appears to have done. The smartphone has a new “Kids Mode” on it which basically makes it child proof, and now a screenshot has been leaked online which reveals that Samsung has also included a “Driving Mode” which will make it easier for users to do essential tasks without having to search for those core features on their Galaxy S5.

Even though Samsung didn’t talk about Driving Mode at its Unpacked 5 event, its said that the mode will be available on Galaxy S5 when it is finally released on April 11th. The screenshot reveals that Driving Mode has a really simple user interface with large icons for four core tasks, Phone, Messages, Navigation and Music. Users essentially have one touch access to these features, and won’t have to search through their entire phone for them.

Apparently there will be some sort of voice guided functionality as well, which may offer a truly hands-off experience, thus allowing the user to keep both hands on the steering wheel at all times. Design is reminiscent of the new TouchWiz user interface of the Galaxy S5, so it won’t feel out of place.

Galaxy S5 Fingerprint Sensor Yield Issues Rumored

Samsung isn’t due to release the Galaxy S5 for a little over one month, that means it has quite a lot of time on its hands to produce as many units as it can before the device is scheduled to hit more than 100 countries on April 11th. With carriers already receiving record pre-registrations, it is expected that Galaxy S5 will be heavily in demand the day it launches, so Samsung definitely needs to ensure that there aren’t no demand supply gaps. If a report out of Korea is to be believed, fate might have thrown a wrench in the works. Samsung is apparently facing yield issues with the fingerprint sensor it has placed under the home button of its new flagship.

16GB Galaxy S5 Will Come With 10.7GB Of Storage After AllAs you might recall just last week, there were reports that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5’s ROM might take up more space than many users would have liked. In fact the 16GB model was found to have around 8GB of space left after everything had been installed.
