As you might have heard by now, it seems that carriers in South Korea have gotten ahead of themselves and released the Samsung Galaxy S5 a little earlier than expected. The handset was due for a release on the 11th of April but it seems that they decided to break the street date.
Now according to a report from the Korea Herald, carriers around the world are reportedly contemplating releasing the handset ahead of schedule as well and that AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile have been named as some of the carriers planning on doing just that. (more…)

Why, it would most probably come with its fair share of features that ought to blow most minds away. The HTC One M8 was launched not too long ago and we have to say that it is one of the more beautiful Android smartphones we’ve seen to date. The use of metal gives the phone a more premium look and feel to it, something which is pretty refreshing in a market where for the most part, phones are typically made from plastic.
In fact HTC’s CEO, Peter Chou, was reportedly pretty involved in the design process of the HTC One M8, constantly making changes and providing feedback to the team where they reportedly created 30-50 prototypes before landing on the final design. Samsung isn’t due to release the Galaxy S5 until April 11th, but a well known Android modder has already been able to root one variant of the 2014 flagship. The updated CF-Auto-Root tool can be used to root Galaxy S5 SM-G900F variant. Presumably this is the international GSM-LTE model. Its possible that this particular root method might work with other regional and carrier variants as well. CF-Auto-Root tool has been developed by modder Chainfire, its an easy to use solution for rooting an Android device.

Samsung is in a very interesting position at this point in time in South Korea – an earlier report did suggest that Samsung could launch the upcoming Galaxy S5 flagship earlier than expected, before Samsung stepped forward to deny such claims, which means that Samsung would comply with the government’s temporary ban on the handset. You know what they say – where there’s a will, there is a way, and whatever ban in place has not stopped the Galaxy S5 going on sale earlier in South Korea as SK Telecom Co. and other carriers attempt to weasel their way around the penalties that are imposed by the national regulator.
