What if the world of Westeros was actually set in the wonderful world of Disney? The Seven Kingdoms would be up for grabs in the magical Disney universe. Disney princesses would become the cunning women of Game of Thrones. I know, crazy. Surprisingly not though. The characters swap work out pretty well.
Leading up to the day when Game of Thrones Season 4 begins, clips are being shared by the teams behind the promotion of the series. If you’re not about SPOLIERS, … Continue reading

HBO aired a special 15 minute preview for Game of Thrones Season 4 last night and it’s now up on YouTube to whet your appetite for dragons, swords, thrones, fantastic looking people, armor, dresses, politics, lengthy diatribes and general awesomeness. But as fun as it is to see a little bit of Game of Thrones right now, it’s almost cruel on HBO’s part to tease us. We still have to wait until April 6th to get our fantasy on.
Game of Thrones might be fantasy, but the characters are so deep and the betrayals so gripping that it feels real. And thanks to Oculus Rift, I just experienced a brief slice of life in the Seven Kingdoms. It was awesome—but I’m glad to be back in our reality.
Game of Thrones is one of the most beautiful shows on television because of its expansive sets, elaborate costumes (and lack thereof), obsession with detail, intimidating weather and anything dealing with the world of Westeros. It’s such a magnificent place that even if the characters disappeared I could watch the golden glow of King’s Landing and the snowy Northern truth clash. But what if Game of Thrones was set somewhere else? Could it be… more beautiful? If it was set in feudal Japan, it just might be.
Like in Game of Thrones, where the Iron Throne was forged from the swords of all the enemies Aegon the Conqueror defeated, this Cyclosa spider uses its dead enemies’ bodies to build a big fake spider decoy design to sit on. Seriously, the spider uses its victim’s insect corpses to construct a larger spider-shaped design on its web to scare off potential predators. That’s so badass.
Some mothers are just plain awesome. Take the Mother of Dragons for instance. Also, the mother of redditor lkd10019312 is one such mother. Why? Because she made this amazing stitchwork map of the continent of Westeros from Game of Thrones.
This map is very nicely detailed and very cleverly uses buttons to imitate the animated gear map sequence in the introduction of the show. This awesome map took her five months of work and it was well worth it.
What has your mother done for you lately? Did it take her five months? I thought not. And she calls herself a mother. THIS is what a mother’s love looks like. Awesome work.

They have ones designed after comic book heroes Iron Man and Captain America…
…ones carrying icons from video games including Minecraft and The Legend of Zelda series…
…and ones for fans of the famous fantasy books A Song of Fire and Ice and Harry Potter.

The first official Game of Thrones season 4 trailer is out at last, and it looks fantastic. April 6 seems so far away. Now I need another shot of House of Cards.
