Nintendo Confirms New Mario Game In The Works

Nintendo Confirms New Mario Game In The WorksDespite Nintendo not exactly being in the forefront when it comes to selling consoles at the moment, the company’s contributions to the gaming industry are well-known as they have provided us with popular and iconic games like Mario and its various iterations. Well the good news is that if you were looking forward to a new Mario game, Nintendo has recently confirmed that a new Mario game is in the works.

Unfortunately Nintendo was unable to confirm if the game is coming onto the Nintendo 3DS handheld console or if it will be destined for the Wii U instead. According to the game’s producer, Yoshiaki Koizumi when asked about which platform it would be released on, he said, “That’s still a secret. I can tell you, though, that we’ve already started approaching our next challenge.”

However the game’s team leader, Kenta Motokura seemed to hint that perhaps it could be for the Wii U because he mentioned that if it were released for the Wii U, the game might take advantage of the GamePad to help enhance the gameplay. In any case we guess we might have to wait a while until we learn more about the new Mario game, so until then stay tuned for more updates!

Grand Theft Auto V On PC, Xbox One And PS4 This June (Rumor)

Grand Theft Auto V On PC, Xbox One And PS4 This June (Rumor)Grand Theft Auto 5V has been a success by any measure, considering how this expensively assembled game has already shipped more than 32 million copies as of February this year ever since it rolled out in 2013. The thing is, this particular title did not make an appearance on the PC as well as the next generation consoles – the Xbox One from Microsoft and the Sony PS4. It does look like this situation is about to change, however, as TECH-NICK, who happens to be a manager of German retailer Saturn.de, did mention in a tweet that the release of Grand Theft Auto V for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 platforms are expected to arrive this coming June.

I am sure that those who already use the PC, Xbox One and Sony PS4 as their primary gaming platforms of choice would be more than pleased to hear this, and TECH-NICK did clarify later on in a different tweet that the release information happens to be a rumor, and nothing has been confirmed just yet. Hopefully the showfloor over at E3 will be able to shed more light on the situation as it kicks off later this June. I suppose there is nothing else for us to do other than to take this rumor with a grain of salt and play the waiting game.

    Blizzard Files For Overwatch Trademark

Blizzard Files For Overwatch TrademarkWhen it comes to the world of games, the folks over at Blizzard have done a fantastic job over the years with their numerous franchises, ranging from StarCraft to WarCraft and Diablo, spawning sequels after the initial title, where just about all of them happen to be hits. Well, does Blizzard have anything new up their sleeves? Apparently, as the company has just filed a trademark for something that will be known as Overwatch, and this particular trademark deals with all of the standard game and gaming-related categories.

Apart from that, Blizzard’s own recruiting page did mention an unannounced game title, which might have something to do with Overwatch, although nothing has been confirmed just yet. Normally, Blizzard does devote most, if not all of its resources to large teams that work on key franchises, but this particular model seems to be undergoing a change.

In fact, Blizzard did mention recently that they might break off into smaller teams so that these individual teams will be able to work on new kinds of games that will offer a faster turnover, such as Heroes of Warcraft, its collectible card game. Jason Chayes of Blizzard shared, “We started up a new development team because we kind of recognised that we needed to have this ability to be more experimental, experiment with different types of games than what we were doing with our big, core franchises.”

Toyota Sports Drive Logger Replays Circuit Runs At Home

Toyota has decided to blur the lines between virtual and real-life car racing, thanks to a brand new accessory for its 86 (which is also called the GT86 and Scion FR-S in select markets) sports car. With the new Sports Drive Logger, drivers are able to record their lap times as well as relevant data, before opting to upload such information to the Gran Turismo 6 video game, so that one can go head-to-head against friends and professional drivers.

This is one fun device to be sure, as it breaks down your performance into a bunch of different metrics. Specially designed to blend real-life track driving with the virtual, you will be able to perform virtual replays of your track runs as you can see in the video example above.

The Sports Drive Logger telemetry recording device would hook up to the ride’s controller area network (CAN) and GPS in order to perform its data collection duties. Among the data collected include GPS information, vehicle speed, accelerator pedal input, steering angles, brake operation signals, shifting data and engine speed, where all drivers have their own style.

Such data, when applied to the PS3’s Gran Turismo 6 car racing game, would allow one to “replay” the run in the virtual world using their real world driving style. Right now, the GT6 Toyota drive logger functionality supports the Fuji Speedway International Course, the Tsukuba Circuit 2000 Course, and the Suzuka Circuit International Course, with plans to add additional courses down the road.
