[CES 2014] The wearable device trend is catching on, which is why we’re seeing the market inundated with various gadgets that latch onto the human body and try to make our lives easier. Garmin has announced one such product today. Called the Vívofit, it is billed as a stylish and lightweight fitness band which has been designed to “turn good intentions into lifelong habits.” It happens to be the only fitness band available right now that greets users with a personalized daily goal, then continues to track their progress and remind when when its time to move around to achieve those goals. [CES 2014] The International Consumer Electronics Show 2013 is well underway in Las Vegas and already a lot of amazing technology has been unveiled that’s bound to keep us talking about it well into the new year. [CES 2014] The latest products that will cater to Garmin’s consumer automotive segment have been announced today. It has launched the Dash Cam, a high definition camera that can be mounted to any vehicles’ windshield to continuously record video as the vehicle is being driven. Garmin Dash Cam captures a wide angle view of the road and is fully automated, meaning that it starts recording only when the engine is turned on and stops only when it is turned off. Dash Cam also has an integrated gravity sensor through which it can automatically detect incidents like braking and collision, the relevant video files are automatically saved. Two versions of this product are available, the Dash Cam 10 does not have a GPS receiver whereas the Dash Cam 20 does. (more…)
