Multitude Of Google Apps Updated, What’s Going On?

Multitude Of Google Apps Updated, Whats Going On?We know that there is an event planned for the 5th of November in which it is speculated that the Google Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat will be announced/released. Granted Google and LG have yet to confirm it, the invite really doesn’t leave much to the imagination and according to a post on Reddit, something is going on with a multitude of Google apps. The poster has noticed that to so far, 16 Google apps have been updated and shows the 29th of October as the most recent update, although no changelog was shown and the updates have yet to roll out to the masses. The apps in question are Google Play Services, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Earth, Translate, Chrome, Hangouts (announced but not yet due for release), Goggles, Play Magazines, Keep, Wallet, Blogger, Google+ (which has been rolled out), Analytics, and Fiber.

It is unclear what’s with the sudden update of all these Google apps. While Google did hold a Google+ event recently, that might explain the updates to Hangouts and Google+, but certainly not the rest. Could this have something to do with the upcoming announcement of Android 4.4 KitKat and with the native Google apps being primed and ready to be compatible with the operating system? That’s certainly a possibility, albeit rather speculative, but what do you guys think is going on here?

    There is no “Apple Trap”

There’s a conspiracy theory appearing in print this week summoning up the suggestion that Apple purposefully creates products that become obsolete over time. The very idea that such an article exists – here in 2013, no less – but that it only targets one single company as such makes it clear: someone didn’t do their […]
