HTC Could Deliver Nexus 8 (Rumor)
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt does seem that the upcoming Nexus 8 will not see Asus as the manufacturer, but rather, there are whispers going around touting that beleaguered firm HTC will be the one behind the Nexus 8. According to DigiTimes, “upstream supply chain” sources have begun to see evidence of HTC working on the Nexus 8. The Nexus 8 is widely believed to be an 8.9-inch tablet which has been bandied about before, and it also appears as though Google had plans for HTC to come up with the original Nexus 7 prior to contacting Asus, but HTC did not have the time to dedicate to such an endeavor.
Who would have thought that HTC’s share price would have plummeted so in the months since then? Perhaps that was not the brightest of choices made by the Taiwanese company. There were a couple of Nexus 7 tablets that rolled out in the summer right after the Google I/O conference, and it seems that the upcoming Nexus 8, too, will follow in such a similar direction.
In fact, the very same supply chain sources that were mentioned earlier claimed that Google is targeting a Q3 release for the Nexus 8. Are you excited at what the Nexus 8 will offer, and will it come with an Intel processor? Only time will reveal all.

Pizza – comfort food that does have its fair share of nutrition, such as vegetables (mushrooms, capsicum, olives…), and of course, full of cheesy goodness if you want to. I personally love Domino’s Pizza and their menu, and it is nice to hear that the pizza chain has now started to accept payment via Google Wallet. In fact, those who actually make use of Google’s digital wallet with Domino’s Android app will also be on the receiving end of free Specialty Chicken.
Google Wallet happens to be a free mobile payment system which would enable users to stash the likes of debit cards, credit cards and loyalty cards electronically on their smartphone. If you are a Domino’s customer who has placed an online order of at least $10 using the Android ordering app, and decide to pay with the “Buy with Google” button at checkout, then your stomach will be filled with a free order of Domino’s new Specialty Chicken. This particular offer is good through June 15th.
Patrick Doyle, Domino’s Pizza president and chief executive officer, shared, “This is yet another way Domino’s is using technology to improve our customer experience. Google Wallet is a great technology that allows customers even more flexibility and convenience when it comes to paying for their Domino’s orders.”

Back in the day it used to be which platform had more apps available for it, but as developers started to craft apps for both iOS and Android simultaneously, it soon became a matter of which app is available on which platform exclusively, kind of like Xbox versus PlayStation in which exclusive games can help gamers decide which platform to go for.
That being said, it seems that Apple and Google are seriously considering taking things to the next level and are looking to provide top game developers incentives to create for the platform exclusively, or at least a limited time exclusive. This is according to a report from The Wall Street Journal who claims that Apple and Google are working on vying for the attention of the top game developers.
Some of the ways that Apple is reportedly doing that is by offering premium placement. This means that games will be placed at the top part of the App Store where everyone will be able to see the games upon first glance, and whether or not gamers actually download and purchase the game is a different story, but at least it is visible.
In fact this sounds familiar because back in 2013, there were claims that EA delayed the Android release of Plants Vs Zombies 2 to allow Apple to gain an exclusive for a short period of time. While this is a good way to get games noticed, we’re not sure how well this might work out for indie developers whose games might not have been tried and proven yet, and might be overshadowed by these promotions, but what say you?

Google Trends is a great tool to find out what people are searching for on the internet. It allows you to keep an eye on hot searches in real time or even go as far back as 2004 to gauge historical trends. This information comes in handy when you’re a business owner trying to find out what people are saying about your brand, or if you’re a student researching a topic for class. The possibilities are endless, but it does require some work. Google has added a new feature into Trends which will make it easier to get the right insights at the right time with email subscriptions.
You now have the ability to subscribe to any search topic on Google Trends as well as Hot Searches for any country and even the monthly chart of top searches in the U.S. It is possible to adjust how subscription emails are sent to your inbox, frequency rates for Hot Searches are once a day, once a week or “as-it-happens.” Emails about individual search topics can be limited to once a week or once a month.
One might think that this new feature sounds a lot like Google Alerts, a notification service that the company launched in 2007. It sends email alerts when certain phrases or terms appear online. There has been speculation that Google Alerts may be shut down, but seeing as how the company did a major overhaul of Alerts back in January, it would be unusual for it to kill the service soon after that.
