MOTO TC Rally adds a dash of excitement to your work desk

moto-tc-rallyYou know what they say – all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy (or Jill a dull girl if you want to be politically correct in this day and age). Hence, what are some of the games which you could whip up in a jiffy that is fun as well as stress relieving? Of course, the smartphone and tablet platforms do offer their fair share of gaming titles, but how about something a little less modern, more rustic and is a throwback to the past despite building a bridge to the future? This is what the MOTO TC Rally from Griffin Technology is all about, as it comes in the form factor of a touch-controlled race car.

Whenever a compatible device is paired with the free MOTO TC Rally app, you are able to gain full control of the car, allowing you to drive, maneuver and race using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Erica Kyle, Youth Product Line Manager at Griffin, shared, “MOTO TC Rally isn’t your typical remote-controlled car. We’ve added fun features like the Bump ‘n Run mode that uses impact sensors to detect bumps from other drivers and create an ultra-realistic racing experience so you can get competitive with friends.”

The MOTO TC Rally will be a whole lot more expensive compared to an actual app of course, as it retails for $99.99 a pop. Of course, the amount of money that you fork out for it should commensurate with the kind of gaming joy you get from it. It will hook up to your iOS-powered devices using Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE v4.0), where it boasts of super quick maneuvering capabilities thanks to proportional steering, impact sensors which are capable of detecting bumps and crashes while changing the way the car handles, a fully independent, shock-absorbing suspension, power rear-wheel drive, and ground effect lighting.

Android, Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry OS users will have to sit this one out, unfortunately.

Griffin Moto TC Rally Proves Rubbin’ Is Racing

If you ever watched a professional automotive racing event, whether it was NASCAR or something else, you undoubtedly noticed that the cars tend to bump into each other a lot. The more the vehicles bump into each other, the more their performance is degraded. Griffin has unveiled a new iOS controlled racing car called the Moto TC Rally that brings the “rubbin’ is racing” mentality to the toy world.

The Moto TC Rally is a remote control car that uses an iOS application for control. The coolest part about the car is its Bump n’ Run feature. That feature uses impact sensors around the car to know when your competitors run into you. You can score points for causing damage to competitors and the more virtual damage your vehicle sustains, the worse your car handles and drives.

You can also just race the cars and the app has a built-in lap counter. The app also offers a number of power ups allowing you to repair your vehicle and add virtual armor. You can also deploy attacks on your opponents including the ability to mix up their controls and make them go slower. The Moto TC Rally is available now for $99.99(USD).

Power-Ups and Crash Damage Make These RC Cars a Real-Life Mario Kart

Griffin isn’t the first out the door with an RC toy that uses your iPhone as a remote control. But it is the first company to come up with some compelling ways to use the iPhone’s touchscreen for more than just steering. Its new Moto TC Rally car is packed with sensors that detect crashes and impacts affecting how the vehicle drives, while on-screen weapons and power-ups let you mess with your opponents. In other words, it’s as close to a real-life version of Mario Kart as you can get.

Griffin MultiDock redesign, holds and charges your devices in style

Trying to break out of the box, almost literally, Griffin has remade its MultiDock charging station. The popular maker of device cases and accessories has now created a box that will not only charge your multitude of devices, but will look pretty good on your desk or counter. The original MultiDock sold by griffin sported […]

Griffin’s MultiDock looks sleeker than ever, and it can still house and charge a herd of devices at once

Griffin's MultiDock looks sleeker than ever, and it can still house and charge a herd of devices at once

In an age where expecting humans to limit themselves to a single piece of electronics is a little too much to ask for, what could be better than to own a physical hub where multiple things can be charged simultaneously? In all seriousness, though, the Griffin MultiDock can indeed be a rather handy tool for businesses, schools and other organizations needing to store, power and sync a large number of devices at once.

What’s also good about the second-gen MultiDock is that it’s no longer only compatible with iPads, allowing a multitude of slabs from different manufacturers to be housed inside of it. Griffin’s also quick to point out that the new MultiDock’s design was the result of a collaboration with designer Thomas Meyerhoffer, who’s more famously known for having worked on the Apple eMate. Regardless, be prepared to break the piggy bank, since the MultiDock’s set to be priced starting at $699 when it becomes available later this month.

A USB-Packed Dock For All Your Phones and Tablets To Call Home

A USB-Packed Dock For All Your Phones and Tablets To Call Home

Laugh if you will at the absurdity of a dock that can charge and store ten different devices, but if you stop and actually count how many things you need to plug in every night, it stops being so absurd. By now most households have at least a few smartphones, gaming devices, and a couple of tablets. And with an influx of smartwatches poised to arrive, Griffin’s new MultiDock seems like a reasonable accessory.

Moto X Gets PowerDock Accessory By Griffin

Moto X Gets PowerDock Accessory By GriffinIt was just earlier we reported on the $20 Moto Skip accessory for the recently announced Moto X, and if you were looking for more accessories to dress your phone up with, Griffin has announced the PowerDock accessory for the Moto X. As you can see in the image above, the PowerDock is essentially a dock for the Moto X smartphone and will come with a base with a built-in micro USB plug that you can use to charge your phone with. Given that pretty much all Android phones charge themselves using the micro USB connector, it’s safe to say that this PowerDock should play nicely with other Android handsets as well, although presumably it has been designed for the Moto X in mind.

The PowerDock will set you back $39.95 and according to the product’s description, it has also been designed to support Moto X devices that are placed into cases that are up to 2mm thick, so don’t worry if you plan on getting a case and that you might have to remove it to use it with the PowerDock. The Moto X has yet to go on sale but we guess it’s a good thing that Motorola is working on getting plenty of accessories ready for purchase once it is up for sale.
