No sir, it seems that this scourge happens all too frequently – making security of digital assets a paramount importance regardless of the organization that you happen to be working in, or helming. The German government recently announced that it had managed to discover criminals who relied on malware to obtain not only the email addresses but passwords of as many as 16 million of its citizens.

Microsoft seems to be on the receiving end of the wrath of the Syrian Electronic Army recently, where their news Twitter accounts fell victim to. Apart from that, Microsoft’s Office Blog has been caught out by the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) – and although the blog was defaced, it was quickly recovered by Microsoft. The screenshot above pointed to SEA putting out a bunch of posts that depicted how they have gained access to the blog, although many would not claim it to be a hack.

Microsoft Confirms Employee Emails Hacked, SEA States That It Is Not Over Yet
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt seems that when it comes to Microsoft, there is no love lost between the company and the Syrian Electronic Army. The hacker group has targeted Microsoft’s Twitter accounts not too long ago, and they were back at it again just a couple of days ago. Now according to Microsoft, the company has confirmed that the Syrian Electronic Army has somehow managed to gain access to employee email accounts whereby they posted three internal emails sent from employees at Microsoft. Microsoft reassures users that no customer information has been compromised and we certainly hope so too, for everyone’s sake. (more…)
