This real world Halo Energy Sword is pretty damn cool

Master swordsmith Tony Swatton—who has crafted swords for about 200 feature films—has made the Halo Energy Sword. The end result is pretty damn neat, but my favorite thing about Swatton’s videos is the process.

7 Foot-long Halo Ship Made out of LEGO

Some of the LEGO creations that we see just blow my mind. I can’t wrap my head around the many hours of planning and building that it takes to make some of these structures, like this massive build. This is a LEGO model of the Halo UNSC Spirit of Fire colony ship, and it is a whopping 7 feet-long.

How long do you think this beast of bricks took to build? Two weeks? Four months? Try over four years. It was built by Mark Kelso, who got the ship’s specifications from designer Heikki Anttila, who worked on the original 3D modeling for the ship. That is why it looks so impressive and imposing.

And that is why the details are off the charts. He even removed all the LEGO studs to make the ship look more realistic. Four years is a nice chunk of time and I’m sure he is very proud of his creation.

UNSC Spirit Of Fire Gets The LEGO Treatment

UNSC Spirit Of Fire Gets The LEGO TreatmentThere is just something about LEGO bricks that makes them so enticing to the kid – or adult. After all, we humans have been wired to create and build, why explains why LEGO has not lost its popularity at all. In fact, you could more or less say that the interest in LEGO has increased as folks come up with more and more zany creations, including this LEGO car that features plastic pistons. Halo fans will be pleased to note that what they see above is actually a LEGO recreation of the starship from the game franchise which is known as the UNSC Spirit of Fire.

Microsoft Denies Rumors Of A Halo Movie

Microsoft Denies Rumors Of A Halo MovieBack in 2011, we heard reports that Microsoft could be planning a Halo movie. Given the popularity of the franchise and how sci-fi flicks have been well-established and received, it seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately the movie never surfaced. Recently there have been rumors that the project could have been revived where a live-action movie was planned with director Ridley Scott at the helm. If you were excited at the idea, we’re sorry to have to burst your bubble because it turns out that those rumors just aren’t true. According to a statement released to Eurogamer, Microsoft claims that there are no plans for a Halo motion pictured at this time.

On one hand it is disappointing news for gamers and fans of the franchise, but at the same time with a Halo-based television series in the works, we doubt Microsoft will want to spend additional time and resources on a movie at the same time. That and the fact that we have Halo 5 to look forward to this year means that Microsoft would have bitten off more than they can chew. In any case hopefully we will be blessed with a Halo movie in the future, but for now we guess fans and gamers will have to “make do” with a television series and new game.

Hayabusa Watch Concept: How Master Chief Tells Time

The latest TokyoFlash concept watch from UK designer Peter Fletcher is one of his coolest yet. The Hayabusa LED watch features a case inspired by the Spartan armor of the same name from Halo.

The helmet-shaped case has an EL-backlit LCD that looks like the helmet’s visor, while watch is covered in a finish that looks like armor. Though I have to say it looks more like Mjolnir armor to be as it’s not pointy like the Hayabusa armor in the game. Still, it’s totally cool.

What I really love about the design of this watch is that the display is surprisingly easy to read. Twevle dots in the middle indicate hours, while the shapes that flank each side are just distorted digits for the minutes.

While those not in the know will have no clue as to what time it is, you’ll be able to tell time at a glance – hopefully before some Elite tags you with a sticky grenade.

Halo fans, If you like what you see, head on over to the TokyoFlash design blog and show your support for the Hayabusa watch. With enough votes, TokyoFlash could very well put the design into production.

Halo 3 Packaged in Three Different Editions

This article was written on March 19, 2007 by CyberNet.

Halo3Picking up right where Halo 2 left off, Halo 3 is one of the most anticipated games of 2007. Microsoft recently released details about pricing, and packaging.

There will be three different options to choose from:

    1. The simple standard edition will run you $59.99 and includes just the game. For most people, that’s enough, and they don’t want anything more.  For those who like the extras…
    2. For $69.99 you can purchase the Limited edition which will come packaged in a metal case. There will be an additional bonus disc included, along with two books ( one art, one fiction) that will give players further details on the story-line. If that still isn’t enough…
    3. The top notch legendary edition will run you $129.99, and will come in a Spartan Helmet Case along with several “extras”. This version might draw people in because it includes a documentary in high definition about the Making of Halo 3, and other extra discs.

No official release date has been announced, but it’s expected sometime in the Fall. That gives you plenty of time to decide which edition will work best for you.

And for all of you die-hard fans who can’t get enough, you can get Halo 3 Wallpapers here, and screenshots here!
