Happy…Black Wednesday? We’ve still got two days left until Black Friday, but that’s not going to stop Amazon from offering up some sweet deals. The retail giant is celebrating the kick off of holiday shopping all week, from this Monday through Cyber Monday.

There’s lots to choose from on the site, but here are some of our top picks for this non-existent holiday, after the jump.

For example, the Halo Red Spartan ranges in price from $16.95 for 2GB to $54.95 for a 16GB.

Besides offering you storage, the drives also feature original exclusive preloaded “mimory” content. According to Mimobot’s Web site, the content includes:

TomTom has joined forces with LucasArts to introduce a line of Star Wars-branded GPS devices. The navigation systems let the user chose from three Star Wars voices, including Darth Vader, C-3PO, Yoda, and Han Solo.

The voices can also be downloaded to other non-Star Wars-branded TomTom devices for $12.95, exclusively at the company’s site. Over there you’ll find samples from all of the aforementioned characters, free Star Wars content (including startup screens, icons, and sounds), and a contest featuring a customized Yoda voice.

Back to the Future Delorean Now a 500GB Hard Drive

delorean_hard_drive.png

It can fly, it can travel through time, its doors flip up when you open them–is there anything the Delorean can’t do? If you said “hold up to 500GB of data,” you, my friend, are sadly mistaken.

Flash Rods is offering quite possibly the coolest external hard drive we’ve seen this year, just in time for the holidays. The Delorean Time Machine is a 1:18 scale model of the Back to the Future time machine with a built-in 500GB Seagate hard drive. The doors and the hood flip up, the wheels roll, and there’s a USB port located on the rear license plate.

The stainless steel hard drive will run you $250.

Kids Want iPad Most This Holiday Season

NielsonKids.jpg

Gosh, where were all these tech goodies when I was a kid?  According to a survey Nielson conducted in October, American kids are asking for some pretty pricey tech gifts this holiday season, the most wanted being the iPad. Most adults i know don’t even have an iPad.

The kids surveyed range from ages 6 to 12, but although their young, the survey revealed they have their eyes on some of the same tech as many adults. The top 5 most wanted tech gifts are: an iPad, a computer, an iPod Touch, a Nintendo DS, and Sony PlayStation 3/PS3 Slim. Other top contenders are smartphones (non-iPhone), iPhone, TV, and Nintendo 3DS. The Kinect for Xbox 360 ranked fairly low on the list, but the survey was conducted before the Kinect’s media campaign launched on November 4th. Blue-Ray Players and eReaders also made the list.
So if your kids are like the kids in this survey, you better be prepared for some wallet-stretching purchases this holiday season. And hey mom and dad, I want an iPad too. Pleaseeee!

Thanksgiving Tech: Stuff Yourself With Gluttony Pants

gluttony_pants_buttons.jpg

I’m not sure what flies at your home during the holidays, but apparently it’s not kosher at everyone’s house to unbutton one’s trousers to make room for a second course. If that’s the case wherever you end up this Thanksgiving, you might want to pick up a pair of Chris Cosentino’s new seasonal clothing item. The San Francisco chef has given the world the Gluttony Pants.

The pants came with three pork-themed button positions: “Piglet,” “Sow,” and “Boar.” Naturally, the wider your belly expands, the larger a pig you become. The pant positions correspond to the names of portion sizes at Cosentino’s restaurant.

Consentino is celebrating Turkey Day with a special Thanksgiving-themed version of the pants, brown for turkey, with burgundy pockets in honor of cranberry sauce. The pants sell for $100 and ship with a large napkin to tuck into one’s shirt collar, featuring images of “the evolution of a foodie.”

Consentino, for his part, denies that his pants promote overeating, “There have been some misconceptions about the Gluttony Pants — I’m not trying to promote obesity or overeating, it’s more about fun. It’s not always a bad thing to overindulge — I’m not saying sit down and eat a 100-ounce T-bone, but it’s OK to overdo it once in a while.”

The company has sold about 600 pairs, so far. The pants are only available in men’s sizes, from 30 to 42.

Daily Gift: Eye-Fi Pro X2

Eye-Fi Pro X2 .jpg

Have an amateur photographer in your life? The good news is that there’s an endless line of cool accessories on the market–the bad news is that lens, cases, etc. tend to be really, really expensive. With an asking price of $149.99 (though you’ll no doubt be able to find better deal online by searching around for a few minutes), it’s not the cheapest gift out there, but it’s bound to become an essential accessory for any photog on your list.

The Eye-Fi is the size and shape of a standard SD card and works with any camera that can handle SDHC. It features 8GB of on-board storage. What really sets the Eye-Fi apart from other cards, however, its in built-in Wi-Fi chip, which lets you upload photos anywhere with an accessible wireless network.

The X2 is faster than its predecessors, offering read and write speeds of up to 6Mbps. The card is also the first Eye-Fi to support 802.11n, and the new Endless memory Mode automatically deletes the files you’ve uploaded, so you won’t run out of space on the thing. There’s also a built-in geotagging feature, so you can keep track of where you shot your photos.
