Verizon HTC One Android 4.3 Update Delayed By A Month

Verizon HTC One Android 4.3 Update Delayed By A MonthWhile HTC One devices from T-Mobile and those in Europe are getting their hands on the Android 4.3 update with Sense 5.5, it looks like Verizon subscribers are in for a wait as the HTC One update for their phones will be delayed for a month. We’re not sure what went wrong with the update for Verizon’s version of the phone, but either way this is pretty bad news for Verizon subscribers who were looking forward to the update on their HTC One devices, especially with news that the update is currently making its rounds not just in the US, but around the world as well.

This news was confirmed by HTC America VP, Jason Mackenzie, who said, “@htc One Vz customers: we need more time to spin new SW & re-test 4.3 update. Approx a month. Appreciate your patience as we work to deliver.” No specific release date was mentioned, but given that the tweet was made towards the end of October, we’re guessing it will be the end of November, or possibly even early December, that the update will be released, unless of course HTC and Verizon somehow manage to work around the clock on this and deliver in earlier than anticipated. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info, but in the meantime we guess Verizon HTC One users will just have to wait.

HTC One In Europe Gets Android 4.3 Update With Sense 5.5

HTC One In Europe Gets Android 4.3 Update With Sense 5.5We all know that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has been making its rounds in the US thanks to select US mobile carriers such as T-Mobile, but how about folks living across the pond? Well, it seems that folks living in Europe are now able to enjoy the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, as well as Sense 5.5 to boot. At this point in time, not everyone in Europe will be on the receiving end of this particular update, but just unlocked Nordic handsets, in addition to those that have been sold in Russia and select parts of Eastern Europe.

This particular update is not light in nature at all. No sir, it comes in at a rather hefty 675MB, so it is highly advisable to leave your smartphone charged while you are downloading it, in addition to keeping your smartphone hooked up to a Wi-Fi network. The update is downloadable directly from a phone, without the need to connect it to a computer or notebook. Once the update is applied, the HTC One in your hands ought to run on software version 3.62.401.1. Apart from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, another improvement would be the inclusion of HTC Sense 5.5, which happens to be the most recent user interface overlay from HTC.

HTC One Max Passes Through FCC With Sprint LTE Bands

HTC One Max Passes Through FCC With Sprint LTE Bands

HTC pulled back the veil of secrecy surrounding its supersized HTC One Max last week, which we learned the device would feature a 5.9-inch Full HD 1080p display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot to expand storage and one of the more surprising additions is its fingerprint scanner located at the rear of the device. HTC certainly put a lot into its HTC One Max, although we still don’t know what U.S. carrier will be carrying the supersized smartphone. Thanks to the FCC, we now do. (more…)

130 HTC One Handsets Form Bullet Time Photo Booth

“Bullet time” – the magical moment in a movie where everything slows down, and you get a 360 degree view of what’s going on. It did seem like magic as bullet time went mainstream and captured the imagination of the masses with the release of the Matrix at the end of the last century. In order to shoot a bullet time scene, one would need a rig of cameras in a circular configuration that are shot all at once, allowing it to capture the same shot of a particular subject from multiple angles.

This particular Qualcomm rig that does bullet time at a public photo booth is highly impressive, too, as it carries a whopping 130 HTC One smartphones which will be able to cover 540 degrees of movement. At the end of it, an animated GIF will simulate movement around the subject that was shot while it remained in the center of the rig. Do give the video a watch, while the quality is nowhere near that of the movies, it is still a pretty impressive video. There are fire breathers in there, a person who showcased his dog catching a frisbee in mid air after jumping off his back, as well as simulations of Force powers.

T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 Update Will Be Released This Monday

T Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 Update Will Be Released This Monday

Carrier branded HTC One units in the U.S. have finally begun receiving the Android 4.3 update. Customers were dutifully updated about the roll out process by HTC Americas president Jason Mackenzie. It was he who revealed that Android 4.3 roll out for carrier branded devices would miss its previously scheduled release date at the end of last month, and it was he who broke world that Sprint HTC One owners were the first ones to receive this update. AT&T subscribers were the second in line to receive the update on their devices. Mackenzie has now revealed via Twitter that T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 update will finally begin rolling out on Monday, October 21st.

A few days back Mackenzie had said that T-Mobile customers should expected the update to reach them within a couple of days, but apparently the roll out hit a snag, which caused it to be pushed back to October 21st. Mackenzie replied to a query on Twitter, saying that the update has been held until Monday due to an unexpected delay. That’s not too bad though, the release has only been set back by a few days. Barring any unexpected snags, the update should begin to be rolled out to T-Mobile HTC One users tomorrow.

The T-Mobile HTC One update bringing Android 4.3 to the smartphone has been delayed until Monday, with the smartphone company blaming matters “out of our control” for the postponed release. Diablo 3 Reaper Of Souls Expansion Confirmed For PS4

Diablo 3 Reaper Of Souls Expansion Confirmed For PS4Now here is an interesting bit of news for those of you who love Diablo 3 and all things associated with this particular dungeon crawler – especially for those who have played it on the console instead of on a desktop or notebook computer. The folks over at Blizzard has announced a piece of news that will certainly make this weekend sweeter concerning the upcoming Diablo 3 expansion, which is known as Reaper of Souls. It is said that Reaper of Souls has been planned and confirmed for the next generation Sony PS4, with a playable version of the game even being made available for the masses to give it a go over at BlizzCon, which will be happening this coming November 8 to 9, accompanied by DualShock 4 touchpad features to boot.

Needless to say, now that we know all of that, there is one more major question to ask – for the meantime, that is. Does this particular announcement of a PS4 Reaper of Souls expansion imply a non-delayed multi-platform launch date? Only time will be able to tell, but it definitely is a pleasant surprise since Reaper of Souls was originally announced as an PC expansion without any mention of it ending up as a console version.
