Metal Galaxy S5 With Improved Specs Expected After HTC M8 Launch

One would think that rumors about the Galaxy S5 will now finally bite the dust, considering the fact that Samsung has formally unveiled its flagship, but the rumor mill doesn’t seem to be in the mood just yet. Since last year we have been hearing rumors that Samsung may release two different variants of its 2014 flagship, a premium variant and a standard, and if these rumors hold any weight, what the company has recently announced may just be the standard variant.

New HTC One Teased On YouTube

At first it was expected that HTC would unveil its 2014 flagship at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. Apparently the company didn’t want Samsung’s Galaxy S5 to steal its thunder, which is presumably why it has scheduled a separate event for March 25th in New York and London where it will finally lift the wraps off the HTC One successor. The company has been doing its bit in building hype for the next flagship, and it has uploaded a new teaser on YouTube.

HTC Promises New Windows Phone Handsets This Year

HTC Promises New Windows Phone Handsets This YearBack in 2012, HTC released a handful of Windows Phone handsets, like the HTC 8X. In fact their colorful design reminded us of Nokia’s own Lumia lineup, but that’s a story for another time. That being said, HTC has been relatively quiet on the Windows Phone front ever since, but the company is hoping that will change this year.

This was confirmed by HTC America President, Jason Mackenzie, who promised that HTC will be bringing more Windows Phone handsets to the market later this year. (more…)

    HTC And Nokia Troll Samsung

As the classic saying goes, don’t hate the player, hate the game. But HTC and Nokia couldn’t help themselves yesterday during Samsung’s big Galaxy S5 reveal and took to Twitter for a bit of internet trolling. HTC, again, reminded its followers about a big reveal on March 25th. The President of HTC America threw down as well, tweeting the image comparing the gold Galaxy S5 to a… Read More

HTC Thinks Galaxy S5 Owners Will Have Buyer’s Remorse

HTC Thinks Galaxy S5 Owners Will Have Buyers RemorseSo the Samsung Galaxy S5 was recently announced with relatively brand new hardware and a somewhat similar design to its predecessor. Those aren’t bad things since previous Galaxy S devices have been proven to be quite a hit, but what if you wanted something new and different? What if you were a little bit tired of the Galaxy S lineup? Well HTC seems to think that perhaps Galaxy S5 owners might soon start to feel a bit of buyer’s remorse come 25th of March. According to a recent tweet by HTC, the company posted the image above in which it reads that “Buyer’s remorse: Coming soon to S5 owners.” There is also a date at the bottom for the 25th of March which is when the HTC M8 will be officially revealed.

Now we should note that the Galaxy S5 will only be released in April, so we’re thinking that HTC might have jumped the gun here, but then again perhaps per-orders could begin in March so perhaps there might be some truth to HTC’s claims. With this tweet, we can also understand why HTC has decided to hold back on its launch and not do it at MWC. After all by taking a look at the competition, they will be more prepared in terms of marketing its upcoming handset, pointing out features that the competition might not. Nokia has done similarly poked fun at the Galaxy S5 in a tweet of their own. Will the HTC M8 be able to outdo the Samsung Galaxy S5 this year? We guess we will have to wait and see. In the meantime what do you guys think of HTC’s latest ad?

HTC Smartwatch To Be Ready By This Holiday Season

HTC Smartwatch To Be Ready By This Holiday Season

A few weeks back there were a lot of rumors about what HTC was to unveil at Mobile World Congress 2014, but not all of them have turned out to be true. Apart from launching a mid-range Android smartphone, HTC doesn’t have much to show at this industry event. Its 2014 flagship will be unveiled at a separate event on March 25th. A rumor had also claimed that the HTC smartwatch would be shown to carriers behind closed doors at MWC 2014, and while there’s no definitive word on that as yet, the company has formally confirmed its interest in making wearable devices and said that the smartwatch will be ready around the holiday season.

It was initially believed that HTC would unveil its much awaited M8 smartphone, the HTC One successor, at Mobile World Congress 2014. The HTC Desire 816 has been announced today at MWC, and according to the company, it hails from a “new breed of mid-range HTC smartphones combining beautiful design and flagship performance.”
