HTC One Spotted Dressed In Blue

HTC One Spotted Dressed In BlueThe HTC One is one of the better smartphones that beleaguered smartphone company HTC has delivered in recent memory, and their fall from grace is certainly disappointing, although we do hope that they will bounce back eventually to add some spice to the Android-powered smartphone market and renew their rivalry with the likes of Samsung, LG and Sony. Having said that, we have seen the HTC One roll out in a fair number of colors, including silver, black and a glamorous shade of red, but so far there has been nothing “cooling” for those who love a paler shade of blue – at least, not until now.

Thanks to serial leaksters @evleaks, we now have caught whiff of a press render of the HTC One which is touted to show up sometime later this year in a lovely shade of blue. No carrier branding was spotted in the blue HTC One press render, but PhoneArena did mention that there was a blue-colored HTC One which was spotted in Verizon’s internal systems. Hmmm, do take all of this alleged blue HTC One news with a pinch of salt, as nothing official from HTC nor Verizon has surfaced yet. You know what they say – it is always better to err on the side of caution.

HTC Mini Could Arrive In The UK

HTC Mini Could Arrive In The UKAll right, so there is the HTC One mini, but how about something that is far smaller than that – where it is known as the HTC Mini? There were whispers of this candybar shaped handset going around earlier this year, and the main purpose of this particular device to exist would be to hook up to the HTC Butterfly. Just in case the HTC Butterfly sounds familiar to you, that is because it is better known as the HTC Droid DNA over in the USA. Well, the HTC Mini has more or less remained under the radar to most folks, being available only for the Chinese HTC Butterfly model to date, but it seems that it will also muscle its way to the UK market this time around.

The HTC Mini will boast of NFC connectivity, and resembles an old school cordless device. It will hook up to the HC Butterfly while functioning as an extended phone which can be used to handle your incoming and outgoing calls as well as text messages, in addition to letting you check out your phone logs and calendar entries all via its monochrome display. Apparently, Clove is accepting pre-orders for the HTC Mini at approximately $100 after conversion.

HTC Mini+ companion device coming to the UK with added functionality

HTC Mini companion device coming to the UK with added functionality

When the HTC Butterfly (better known as the Droid DNA here in the US) launched in China several months ago, it was soon followed by a companion device called the HTC Mini. This accessory — not to be confused with HTC’s One mini — is basically designed to be a Bluetooth handset and remote control for the larger smartphone. It features NFC for pairing, plus a numeric keypad and monochrome LCD. What’s more intriguing, however, is that UK retailer Clove recently outed an update to the product — the HTC Mini+ — which gains an IR blaster and the ability to remote control a variety of TVs, along with HTC’s Media Link HD. The companion device is expected to be available soon fort £54.16 (about $83) before taxes.

“Big Things Ahead” Teaser YouTube Clip By HTC

It was yesterday when we spotted a Vine spot of what could very well be a potential HTC One Max teaser, although that remains to be seen. Today, we have unearthed a YouTube clip by HTC (which happens to feature the tagline, “Here’s To Change” that will hopefully come true since HTC’s recent corporate performance has been far from satisfactory, and shareholders are an easy lot to lose their patience with) which might very well hint about the upcoming HTC One Max, too, considering how that device has seen its fair share of leaks in recent memory.

This unlisted teaser YouTube video has been titled “Big Things Ahead”, and the description of the video itself is so vague with such a large scope, your guess is as good as mine as to what it can possibly be. Of course, the HTC One Max would have the highest chance of making it as the correct answer since it has gone through the rumors and alleged photos phase, but who knows, HTC might very well have a device that they have successfully kept under wraps all this while?

HTC One gets shown off in blue, could land later this year

HTC One shows up in blue

The HTC One has seen a few different colors in its days — silver, black and “glamour red” come to mind — but we haven’t actually seen one of the company’s flagships in blue until now. It appears that this rumored blue variant is about to get official, though: that press render up there comes courtesy of leakster @evleaks, who claims the phone should be showing up sometime this year. We’re not seeing any carrier branding, which indicates that it would likely be released in other parts of the world besides the US, such as Europe, but we certainly don’t want to rule out a possible appearance on this side of the Atlantic either.

Update: PhoneArena is reporting that the blue-colored One has been seen in Verizon’s internal systems, so it’s possible we will indeed see this particular color option here in the states. [Thanks all!]

HTC One Max Robert Downey Jr full-length teaser appears [UPDATE]

While just a couple of bits and pieces were spilled yesterday, overnight it would appear that HTC made with the full-length video spot for their newest campaign entitled “Big Things Ahead.” They also use the tag #HTChange, a single iteration of the multi-word collection of possibilities for what H.T.C. could stand for. It’s also been […]

HTC Posts Potential One Max Teaser Online

HTC Posts Potential One Max Teaser Online

There have been a lot of rumors recently about the HTC One Max, the company’s first phablet. It is essentially going to be an enlarged HTC One, with a massive 5.9 inch display. Only yesterday we saw a leaked picture of this device. Back when we were hearing HTC One Mini rumors, an infographic was posted on the company’s official blog which hinted at an imminent release of the device. HTC has now posted a six second teaser clip on Vine, which might be a subtle indication towards the possible launch of HTC One Max.

Simply captioned “Big things ahead. #HTChange,” the clip is a bit unorthodox, with a man stepping off a helicopter and slapping a man’s hand. The hint lies in the caption itself, if anything, a 5.9 inch display can definitely be called big. Still, we must wait for the actual invites to be rolled out before we can be absolutely certain that HTC is on the verge of unveiling the One Max. Recent rumors suggest that the launch might take place at the IFA conference in Berlin, where Samsung has already scheduled an event for its Galaxy Note 3 phablet.

HTC teases ‘big things ahead,’ likely referring to One Max (updated)

HTC teases 'big things ahead,' likely referring to One Max

Remember when HTC decided to add its own contributions to the One Mini rumor mill by using its own infographic? It seems the Taiwan-based company is following the same trend with the HTC One Max, a device that we’ve heard about for what seems like months. On its official Twitter account, it posted a teaser in the form of a six-second Vine, three simple words and a hashtag: “big things ahead. #HTChange.” Take from that what you will, but it seems to us that this particular tease means we’ll be seeing the larger variant of the One sooner rather than later.

Update: There’s now a YouTube clip showing a similar teaser, but it’s not clear whether the phone featured in it is actually the One Max. See for yourself after the break.

HTC One Max and Robert Downy Jr teased in viral video spot

This afternoon HTC has teased “Big things ahead” with a teaser for a trailer – yes, such things do now exist – for a new device or service, two of the most likely candidates being the fabled HTC One Max and the addition of Robert Downey Jr. It’s been suggested more than once in the […]

HTC Shoots Down Rumors Of Being Put Up For Sale

HTC Shoots Down Rumors Of Being Put Up For Sale

HTC has been struggling to gain its share in the market that is largely dominated by Apple and Samsung. The company made progress with its latest Android flagship, the HTC One, but still its weak quarterly earnings and relatively low market share have analysts wondering what might be in store for HTC. Alice Sun, a well known analyst at EE Times, recently posted a rumor on Sina Weibo claiming that HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang had made up her mind to stop making mobile phones, and that she had even put HTC up for sale in the market. HTC has responded to that rumor with an official statement, saying that it is not up for sale.

Despite the rebuttal from HTC, Alice Sun followed up on Sina Weibo and claimed that time will reveal the reality. On the other hand, HTC says that it is “committed to innovation and will continue to deliver new designs and products to consumers worldwide.” The company is expected to launch its first ever phablet in the coming weeks, the HTC One Max. There haven’t been any more rumors indicating that HTC might be bowing out of the smartphone industry, we’ll keep an eye on this situation and will report on any developments.
