Samsung 98-Inch Ultra HD Video Wall To Appear At IFA 2013

Samsung 98 Inch Ultra HD Video Wall To Appear At IFA 2013What is it that you like about tradeshows the most? Is it the insane number of new devices that we can look forward to, or is it the free food at the press room that hungry journalists are able to tuck into? Perhaps it is the presence of booth babes who are somehow able to distort reality, and make whatever is released seem to perform and look better than it actually is? Regardless, IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany is set to be a blast, and we have word that Samsung will be introducing a new 98-inch Ultra HD “video wall” for commercial purposes.

That particular video wall sure as heck seems as though it is going to be a blast, and I cannot imagine the kind of eye popping visuals that can be shown off in it. Of course, there will also be other side additions such as a 31.5-inch Ultra HD monitor, but you can bet your bottom dollar that most of the attention will be concentrated on the video wall from Samsung. 98-inches is definitely not something you can sneeze at, but there is always the issue of price that will hang over most people’s heads – is it affordable enough for smaller businesses to justify such a purchase? Samsung to show off 98-inch Ultra HD video wall, 31.5-inch 4K monitor at IFA 2013

    Samsung

As surely as there will be another round of tradeshows this fall and winter, companies like Samsung will be there with bigger and better tech to show off, which consists of new 4K displays this time around. At IFA 2013, Samsung plans to show off this 98-inch commercial Ultra HD “video wall”, as well as a 31.5-inch Ultra HD monitor. Samsung unveiled its 85-inch UHDTV at CES earlier this year it promised sizes would grow so we’re not surprised it’s combining slim-bezeled versions to create this massive screen headed to storefronts near you. There’s no picture yet for the 31.5-inch monitor and few details, but Samsung is ready to battle with competition from the likes of ASUS and Sharp with detailed color calibration adjustments and support for 99 percent of Adobe’s RGB space.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumored For 27th September Release

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumored For 27th September ReleaseThanks to a recent statement made by Samsung’s executive vice president, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet has been confirmed for an unveiling at IFA 2013, along with the Galaxy Gear smart watch as well. As for availability, last we heard the Galaxy Note 3 could begin shipping in September and now thanks to new reports, the 27th of September could be a possible release date. This is according to Taiwanese website ePrice who claims that the device will go up for sale in Taiwan come the 27th of September, with pre-orders possibly beginning on the 16th of September, although that particular date could be shifted depending on circumstances, but it should not be anything major.

Taiwan is one of the markets that are lucky enough to get devices early, so there is a good chance that if it is released on the 27th of September in Taiwan, other markets should expect to follow shortly after, if not at the same time as well. No word on pricing just yet but we expect it will vary from country to country, not to mention subsidies offered by carriers could affect the price as well. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully apart from just sharing the features of the Galaxy Note 3 at IFA 2013, Samsung will announce pricing and availability as well.

Galaxy Note 3 Purported Front Panel Compared With Its Predecessor

Galaxy Note 3 Purported Front Panel Compared With Its Predecessor

In just one week Samsung gets up on stage in Berlin to announce the Galaxy Note 3, the event has been scheduled for September 4th. There have been a lot of rumors about Samsung’s upcoming phablet. We’ve heard about the specifications it is supposed to tout and the features it is supposed to have. There haven’t been many rumors or leaks about the phablet’s design though, which is why this particular one is interesting. A purported front panel of Galaxy Note 3 has been photographed alongside that of the Galaxy Note 2.

The image shows purported Galaxy Note 3 front panel on the right. We can see slimmer bezels, the front panel itself looks only slightly larger than its predecessor. Galaxy Note 3 is expected to have 5.68 inch display as opposed to the Note 2′s 5.5 inch display, so its easy to explain the slight difference in size. Apart from that, the Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to have a Snapdragon 800 processor, an Exynos 5 variant is expected as well, with 3GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera and Android 4.3. Rumor has it that the phablet will be released in the market soon after its official launch which has already been confirmed for next month. At this event Samsung is also expected to launch its new smartwatch. [Image via ETradeSupply]

Sony Xperia Z1 Teaser Video Leaves Nothing To The Imagination

Over the past couple of months, we have started seeing leaks and hearing rumors about Sony’s upcoming Honami device, which at this point in time has been referred to as the Xperia Z1. In fact just last week Sony started teasing us with photos of the device, but in a new tweet via Sony Xperia’s Twitter account, a teaser video has been released and it more or less shows off the entire device in all of its glory. Of course the video only shows us various angles of the phone and not the full frontal shot of it, but we expect that you guys will be able to figure it out.

In case you weren’t able to piece everything together via the video, leaked press shots should be able to clue you in. As a quick recap, the Xperia Z1 is rumored to sport a 5” Full HD display and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset. It is also expect to resemble the Sony Xperia Z in terms of design and one of its key features would be its 20MP G Lens camera. We expect Sony will announce the Xperia Z1 during their 4th of September press event at IFA 2013, so check back with us then for the details. In the meantime you can check out the video above for a brief teaser.

Sony NEX-5T with WiFi, NFC and Fast Hybrid AF

Sony NEX 5T with WiFi, NFC and Fast Hybrid AF

At Ubergizmo, in addition to our two Canon EOS-50D we carry the NEX-5N – we bought all those devices –  to shoot videos during briefings and conferences, and we are overall very happy with the photo quality and the high quality microphone that can be attached to the body. So we were quite excited when we could briefly get our hands on the new Sony NEX-5T that has a similar look as its (much) older sibling.

The 16.1 MP NEX-5T is the first Sony interchangeable lens camera to feature NFC that allows one-touch connection with compatible Android smartphones and tablets, for image and video sharing across devices.

    Sony α3000 “DSLR-Style” Camera Launched

Sony α3000 DSLR Style Camera Launched

Sony just made the α3000 (alpha 3000) official. As previous web rumors indicated, it is an entry-level “DSLR-style” (design-wise) camera which is built for those who like the “feel” of DSLR cameras, without diving into complex image capture settings. Basically, the goal is to marry DSLR-like image quality and lens options flexibility, with the ease of use of a point and shoot. In short, the Sony a3000 could satisfy a large consumer base which plans to upgrade from a point and shoot to something much better, without having to become “photography enthusiast”. “Point and shoot” simplicity remains a priority here.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Could Offer 4K Video Capture [Rumor]

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Could Offer 4K Video Capture [Rumor]Just the other day it was reported that the upcoming Sony Honami could capture 4K videos, and it looks like Samsung is expected to offer a similar feature as well with their upcoming Galaxy Note 3 phablet device. This is according to the Korea Economic Daily whose sources have “confirmed” that 4K video capture will be one of the Galaxy Note 3’s upcoming features. For those unfamiliar, this basically translates into a video with a resolution of 3840×2160, or around 8.3MP. While 4K will eventually become the new standard and replace 1080p, there aren’t that many 4K televisions in living rooms at the moment, but we guess Samsung could be looking to future proof its devices.

Some are speculating that the 4K video capture could be a way for Samsung to “make up” for the lack of optical image stabilization in its camera, a feature that supposedly will debut in Samsung’s 2014 flagship device. The reason behind it is that Samsung was reportedly not able to get enough sensors in time for the Galaxy Note 3, so perhaps including 4K video capture is a way to make up for it, so to speak. In any case Samsung will most likely announce the Galaxy Note 3 at its Unpacked event on the 4th of September during IFA 2013 in Berlin, so check back with us then for the details.

Sony Honami smartphone gets an official teaser, a few unofficial photos

Sony Honami pops up in official teaser, very unofficial photos

The buzz surrounding Sony’s Honami smartphone is reaching a fever pitch, and Sony itself is finally joining in with a new teaser image for the device. The official shot only confirms the presence of a G-branded camera lens and an LED flash. However, it coincides with a new batch of unofficial photos on Digi-Wo that show the Honami in white at a Sony event. While there’s nothing new in the pictures beyond the color, it’s clear that the Android flagship is nearing its debut. The company isn’t mentioning any launch details itself. However, we won’t be surprised if the new Xperia appears at IFA next week.
