Sony Honami’s Camera Teased In New Photo

Sony Honamis Camera Teased In New PhotoJust last week Sony started teasing customers about its upcoming smartphone, the Sony Honami, or also known as the Xperia Z1 or Xperia i1, depending on which rumor you are buying. In any case a new teaser photo has since been shared on Sony’s Xperia Twitter account, and this time we are looking at the camera lens of the handset. In fact it even shows the initial “G” which many take to mean the G Lens which is one of the rumored features of the upcoming device.

So far Sony has teased photos of the handset with the first being the power button, and the second one showing the phone being dunked underwater, hinting at its water resistance, a feature from the Sony Xperia Z, and now we are looking at the camera. The photo does not explicitly state the camera’s sensor size, but if the rumors are to be believed, a 20MP sensor is in order.

Other rumored features include a 5” Full HD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz. The Sony Honami is rumored to be announced on the 4th of September at Sony’s IFA 2013 press event, so check back with us then for the details.

LG G Pad Rumored To Sport Snapdragon 600 Chipset, Not Snapdragon 800We have been hearing rumors that LG could be looking to launch new tablets of their own, with certain LG devices even being spotted at the FCC.  In any case the name LG G Pad has also been thrown around quite a bit and we’re sure some of you guys are wondering what sort of hardware specs this alleged device could hold. Last we heard the device could sport an 8.3” display with a resolution of 1920×1200 and will be quad-core powered with 2GB of RAM. At that time it was rumored that the chipset used could be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800, but according to Korean media outlets, it will instead use the Snapdragon 600 chipset rather than the Snapdragon 800.

The sources have also confirmed its 8.3” display and has added that it will be available in both WiFi-only and LTE variants, with the WiFi model destined for the Korean markets, and the LTE model expected to make its way onto Verizon’s network in the US. Galaxy Note 3 Receives Bluetooth SIG Certification

Galaxy Note 3 Receives Bluetooth SIG Certification

Samsung is expected to unveil its new phablet next month. The company has already sent out invites for an event that scheduled to take place on September 4th. Its invite hinted at what we might get to see at the event. There have been consistent rumors and leaks about the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 over the past couple of months, we’re now hopefully less than a fortnight away from the official launch. The phablet is now one step closer to release, it has finally received Bluetooth SIG certification.

The Bluetooth SIG certification doesn’t reveal any major details about the device. It doesn’t even pinpoint when Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 3. Whenever such a report comes about an upcoming device, that it has been granted certification, it is usually taken as an indicator that the release will take place soon. There’s no official word as yet from Samsung regarding Galaxy Note 3 release, it is just expected to unveil the device on September 4th. Rumors suggest that Samsung will release Galaxy Note 3 in the market days after it is done with the announcement. That might be true for certain markets such as Korea. It is unclear right now which carriers in the U.S. will be picking up the device and when they will release it to the customers. For all of that information, we have to sit tight until September 4th.

New Sony Honami Photo Teased, Hints At Water Resistance

New Sony Honami Photo Teased, Hints At Water ResistanceYesterday we reported that Sony had teased their upcoming Sony Honami handset on their Twitter page, and not too long after Sony posted a new image which you can see in the picture above. This time the tagline reads “About to make a splash”, with what appears to be the phone being dunked underwater. Given that the Sony Xperia Z did come with water resistant capabilities, it looks like that feature could be brought over to the Honami device as well, at least that’s what the photo seems to be telling us.

The Sony Honami, for those unfamiliar, is Sony’s upcoming Android smartphone which could be marketed as the Xperia Z1 or the Xperia i1, with both names being tossed around recently. While its hardware is rumored to be pretty powerful, what with a 5” Full HD display and a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, its main feature would be its 20MP camera which presumably would put it up against Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Nokia Lumia 1020, both devices in which the camera is the main feature. Sony is expected to unveil the device at their IFA 2013 press event on the 4th of September, so check back with us then for the details.

Samsung Only Launching Snapdragon 800 Galaxy Note 3 Variant At The Start [Rumor]

Samsung Only Launching Snapdragon 800 Galaxy Note 3 Variant At The Start [Rumor]The last we heard, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could be launched in both a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 variant, and an Exynos 5420 variant. Unfortunately if you were looking forward to getting your hands on the Exynos 5420 version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, you might have to wait. According to a report from ETNews it seems that Samsung will only be producing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 variants of the Galaxy Note 3 for the time being. The reason behind it is because it seems that the Exynos 5420 is experiencing overheating issues and we guess that’s the last thing Samsung wants in their latest product, which means until Samsung fixes the problem, only the Snapdragon 800 models will be available.

Some of you guys might probably not be too fussed as to which version you will get, but it should be noted that the Snapdragon 800 and Exynos 5420 models are destined for different markets, and according to the list of countries, those living in the US and UK (for the most part, unless you’re planning on getting it through Carphone Warehouse), are “safe” as these are the markets which the Snapdragon 800 model will be arriving on. No word on whether this report is true, and how long it will take for Samsung to sort it out, but hopefully more details will be shared on Samsung’s 4th of September press event at IFA 2013.

Samsung has an event scheduled on September 4th. The event’s invite contained a hint about what it intends to unveil. For the past couple of months we’ve been hearing that Samsung will unveil its next generation phablet, the Galaxy Note 3, in September. The invite hinted at just that. Galaxy Note 3 is one of the most hotly anticipated device of this summer, the company will finally unveil every single detail there is to know, regardless of the fact that there have already been a lot of rumors about its features and specifications. A new rumor has surfaced today. Samsung will apparently offer Galaxy Note 3 in pink, apart from the conventional black and white colors.

The rumor comes from Sammobile, they claim to have heard from an insider that during September, Samsung will ship Galaxy Note 3 in black and white. After a month, around late October, they’ll start shipping the phablet in pink. It is not known right now if this color option will be limited to certain markets, such as the company’s native South Korea or Taiwan. Sony VAIO Laptop-Tablet Hybrid Launch At IFA 2013 Teased

The IFA 2013 conference takes place next month in Berlin. A lot of interesting announcements are expected to come out from the conference. It appears that Sony will be officially launching a new VAIO product based on the laptop-tablet hybrid form factor. The company has posted a short teaser video online which shows a piece of paper being folded into various orientations such as a laptop and a tablet.

At the IFA conference last year Sony launched the VAIO Duo 11. Its an 11 inch ultrabook which can also be used as a bulky tablet as the screen can be slid down to cover the entire keyboard. Based on this history, one can speculate that Sony will launch a similar hybrid product, even if the teaser isn’t immediately clear about the product that Sony intends to launch next month. The teaser video ends with “It all begins with one line,” and the Sony and VAIO branding gets sketched by hand on the folded piece of paper. Ubergizmo will be at IFA 2013 next month, we’ll bring you all of the updates from the conference. Other exciting products expected to be announced at the conference include Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as well as the Galaxy Gear smartwatch.

Archos 101 XS 2 tablet appears at the FCC, adds a rear camera

Archos said in its fiscal results that it would launch five devices at the IFA expo next month. Well, there’s a chance you’re looking at one of them right now. An Archos 101 XS 2 tablet has surfaced at the FCC, with a lone photo showing many design elements lifted from the original 101 XS. It’s not just more of the same, though: we spot a microphone alongside the familiar keyboard connector, along with a rear camera (the first edition didn’t have one). The filing doesn’t provide clues regarding any upgrades to the performance or Android software, but we may learn about those in just a few weeks.

Samsung unveils AirTrack soundbar for 60-inch and larger TVs

Samsung unveils AirTrack soundbar for 60inch and larger TVs

Many soundbars are designed for small or mid-sized TV sets, where price and space are top priorities. Samsung is bucking that trend with its newly unveiled AirTrack HW-F850: its follow-up to the vacuum tube-based F750 is built expressly for 60-inch and larger screens. As Samsung can afford a considerably larger bar, the F850 boosts the total power to 350W, up 40W from the F750. The company promises deeper bass from the subwoofer, too. As you’d expect, both Bluetooth audio and NFC pairing carry over from the F850’s tinier counterparts. Samsung expects to ship the extra-large soundbar to Europe in September; the company hasn’t mentioned pricing, although the F850 will likely command a premium over smaller AirTrack models.
