6tag For Windows Phone Updated, Lets You Hide Instagram Ads

6tag For Windows Phone Updated, Lets You Hide Instagram AdsOne of the perks of using a third-party Instagram app is that it affords you features that the official Instagram app might not have. This might include additional functions, but users of the Windows Phone 6tag app, the latest update will allow you to block the ads that have been inserted into the newsfeed by Instagram! We’re pretty sure Instagram won’t be too thrilled about it, and for some reason this just feels like the official app’s upcoming launch has been somewhat dampened a bit, especially with the app’s updates bringing a host of features that could rival, or maybe even out-do, the official one.

The app update will bump your version of 6tag to version 2.2.0, and apart from the ability to hide Instagram sponsored posts, you will get additional features as well. The full changelog can be found on the 6tag at the Windows Phone Store’s website, so if you’d like to check it out, hit up the Windows Phone Store for the details and the download! So Windows Phone users, this kind of feature almost kills the need for an official app, or does it? Let us know in the comments below on why you might think an official Instagram app might be better!

Real Life Instagram Project Takes Filters Onto The Streets Of London

Real Life Instagram Project Takes Filters Onto The Streets Of LondonInstagram is undoubtedly one of the more popular apps around these days, with its users using the app to snap photos, apply filters, adding hash tags, and sharing them on Facebook and Instagram’s own network. But what if Instagram were brought to real life? As in we could see the filters physically, as opposed to through the app itself? Well that’s what Brazilian artist Bruno Ribeiro has done, which is taking a cardboard cutout meant to look like Instagram (as pictured above), and placing them all around London’s more touristy areas for a project he’s calling “Real Life Instagrams”.

While the filters aren’t strictly Instagram filters, we suppose Instagram users should be able to get the point. Unsurprisingly many visitors, along with residents of London, have been taking photos through these Instagram filters, which we can only assume will then be applied with more Instagram filters and then uploaded onto Instagram itself. Talking about an Instagram-ception! In any case it’s still a pretty awesome idea and if you’d like to check out more of Bruno Ribeiro’s work, hit up his Instagram account for more photos! So, anyone in London come across these Real Life Instagram installations yet?

Instagram Shutting Down Hashtags Related To Selling Illegal Drugs

Instagram is an extremely popular photo-sharing social media service that allows its users around the world to share both photos and videos to any of their followers, as well as strangers if they’d like. Instagram runs first ad: video ads to follow

Instagram‘s first ad ran on Friday as promised, confirmed the image sharing company with PCWorld this weekend. The ad represents the inaugural insertion of a permanent advertising program for the app. It depicts a high-end watch by fashion designer Michael Kors, in situ with a gold-leafed coffee mug, some colorful comestibles, and a travel-related photo […]

Michael Kors Is Instagram’s First Official Ad

Michael Kors Is Instagrams First Official AdWe knew that Instagram would eventually start including ads in its news feed and the company has since released a sample showing what the ads might look like. Well for those who were dreading this day, it looks like the day has come because Instagram has officially started to include ads in its news feed, with the first ad being from Michael Kors, a fashion label. The ad itself is not particularly intrusive nor it is an eye-sore as it basically looks like a regular Instagram post, with the difference being that it says “Sponsored” and it also might not have anything to do with the people you follow, which might be a little disruptive.

Comments on the ad do not seem particularly well-received at this point in time, with many Instagram users voicing their displeasure and asking for Instagram to remove it. We doubt that will be happening anytime soon which means that there is a chance some Instagram users will be leaving the service, but presumably the vast majority will stay and continue to use the app. What do you guys think of Instagram’s ads anyway? After all they can be quickly scrolled past, liked, commented, and even hidden, so like we said it’s not too intrusive at the end of the day, but what say you? Yay or nay?

BlackGram Is BlackBerry 10′s Native Instagram App

BlackGram Is BlackBerry 10s Native Instagram AppWhile Instagram might finally be making its way onto Windows Phone, the same unfortunately cannot be said for BlackBerry users, at least until now. BlackGram for BlackBerry has been launched and it is the first native Instagram app for the BlackBerry 10 platform. Granted this is hardly the official app compared to what iOS, Android, a recently Windows Phone users will be enjoying, but we guess it’s a start and according to those who have managed to get their hands on the app, well apparently it works really well.

The features include your standard account creation, the ability to browse, search for users and hash tags, like/comment/unlike photos, follow users, edit images with the original Instagram filters, and more. Unfortunately the app is not free, unlike Instagram, so interested users will have to fork out $2.99 if they wish to get their hands on the app. As it stands the app has been hidden in BlackBerry World because according to the developer, they are scaling up their servers to match the influx of users, so don’t worry if you can’t find it yet, we’re sure it will be coming back soon. So, any BlackBerry 10 users excited at the app finally arriving for their platform?

Real Life Instagram Injects Photo Filters Into The Real World

Instagram has been extremely popular as more and more people are signing up to the photo-sharing social media service to show off not only their photos, but videos, too. Instagram’s filters can certainly turn a normal photo into a piece of art, although London’s Bruno Ribeiro decided to take the concept of the service’s filter and implement them all over his fair city.
