It’s a fact that staring at screens of all kind will strain your vision. However, there’s a new app that’s available for iOS and Android, which is supposed to help improve it. Fact or fiction?
The Ultimeyes app was released for computers before it was launched for mobile devices. The app is a game that’s supposed to work on improving your visual acuity. In the game, you end up trying to track down blobs on the screen that are shifting around. This is supposed to improve your eyesight over time, by playing in 25 to 30 minute intervals.
You’ll have to shell out $5.99 on iTunes or Google Play to try it out for your googly eyes.

Jailbroken iOS Devices Vulnerable To Apple ID And Password Stealing Malware

One of the drawbacks to jailbreaking your device is that it is no longer running the way that Apple had originally intended for it to run. This means that your device could be open to more crashes, apps could modify it in a bad way, and there could be security holes as well.
According to a recent discovery by security research, Stefan Esser, it has been discovered that there is a piece of malware that has infected jailbroken devices, thus causing them to crash. Not only is a device that crashes pretty annoying, but it turns out that this piece of malware has a more sinister purpose, which is to steal Apple ID and password information from said device.
According to Esser’s discovery, “This malware appears to have Chinese origin and comes as a library called Unflod.dylib that hooks into all running processes of jailbroken iDevices and listens to outgoing SSL connections. From these connections it tries to steal the device’s Apple-ID and corresponding password and sends them in plaintext to servers with IP addresses in control of US hosting companies for apparently Chinese customers.”
However thankfully the malware does not appear to have originated from Cydia, but rather an outside source. It has also been discovered that the malware only affects 32-bit devices so if you have an iPhone 5s, an iPad Air, or an iPad mini with Retina display, you should be safe. Unfortunately removing the malware is not a particularly easy task and will require users to fully restore their devices, thus removing the jailbreak.

Back in the day it used to be which platform had more apps available for it, but as developers started to craft apps for both iOS and Android simultaneously, it soon became a matter of which app is available on which platform exclusively, kind of like Xbox versus PlayStation in which exclusive games can help gamers decide which platform to go for.
That being said, it seems that Apple and Google are seriously considering taking things to the next level and are looking to provide top game developers incentives to create for the platform exclusively, or at least a limited time exclusive. This is according to a report from The Wall Street Journal who claims that Apple and Google are working on vying for the attention of the top game developers.
Some of the ways that Apple is reportedly doing that is by offering premium placement. This means that games will be placed at the top part of the App Store where everyone will be able to see the games upon first glance, and whether or not gamers actually download and purchase the game is a different story, but at least it is visible.
In fact this sounds familiar because back in 2013, there were claims that EA delayed the Android release of Plants Vs Zombies 2 to allow Apple to gain an exclusive for a short period of time. While this is a good way to get games noticed, we’re not sure how well this might work out for indie developers whose games might not have been tried and proven yet, and might be overshadowed by these promotions, but what say you?
