AT&T Reportedly Training Staff On iOS 7 In Preparation Of Upcoming Release

AT&T Reportedly Training Staff On iOS 7 In Preparation Of Upcoming ReleaseCome 10th of September, Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. At the same time some believe that the 10th of September date could also be when Apple decides to release their latest iOS 7 to the masses. Now according to reports, word has it that Apple along with AT&T have begun to formally train their staff, such as front-desk sales people, technicians, and call-in support crews, on iOS 7.

According to the leaked screenshots obtained by Apple Insider, the training basically covers some of the new features that will be part of the iOS 7 update, along with iTunes Radio and the new Activation Lock. We guess this isn’t too surprising given that AT&T staff will need to be briefed on the software’s new features should customers ask them. Previous reports have suggested that AT&T along with other carriers have blacked out holidays for late September (around the 20th) as that is when the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are expected to go on sale, and we expect the carriers will need all hands on deck.

In any we expect more details about the new devices and iOS 7 to be shared on the 10th of September, so be sure to check back with us then for the details!

Apple iPhone September 10th event confirmed as invites land

Apple has confirmed it will hold an event on September 10th, sending out invites to press, with the iPhone 5S expected to take center stage alongside a cheaper iPhone and iOS 7. Speculation about the September 10th show has been high for some weeks now, with some rumors pegging not only new phones but a […]

Apple confirms September 10th iPhone event, and we'll be there live!

The next iPhone will be (presumably) unveiled on September 10th, as hinted at on the Apple-delivered invite that you see above. When the curtains pull back, it’ll be nearly a year to the day since the iPhone 5 was ushered into reality, and it’ll no doubt be a monumentally important day for the company. Particularly compared to the barrage of products Apple introduced in 2012 — iPad mini, iPhone 5, the MacBook Pro with Retina display, enhanced MacBook Air / iMac / Mac mini lines, a redesigned iPod nano, a revised iPad / iPod touch / Apple TV, ad OS X Mountain Lion — 2013 has been eerily quiet. Outside of a tweaked iPhone 5 for T-Mobile’s network, a Haswell-infused MacBook Air and a tease of the next-generation Mac Pro, we’ve been left with little more than hopes for newly-inspired versions of iOS and OS X.

That changes on the 10th of September, as at the very least, we’re expecting a next-gen iPhone to hit the stage. We’ll also be holding out hope for an oh-so-colorful lower-end iPhone 5C for emerging markets — markets where Android and even Windows Phone are the platforms of choice for communities making the move into the smartphone era. We wouldn’t put it past Apple to also revise its iPad line while it’s at it, and naturally, iOS 7 should be just about primed for release to the masses. As you’d expect, we’ll be on hand in Cupertino in order to liveblog every second of the action, and we’d invite you to cast your best guesses on what’s to come in comments below.

    Visualizing the iPhone Color

Though when this article is being written and published, we’re not certain of what the next iPhone will be called, it does seem quite likely that there’ll be a version with a plastic back cover in a variety of colors. This device has been code-named iPhone 5C in the tech news circuit, and may very […]

Apple Reportedly Blocking Employee Vacations Due To Imminent iPhone And iOS 7 Launch

Apple Reportedly Blocking Employee Vacations Due To Imminent iPhone And iOS 7 Launch

Rumor has it that Apple is blocking support personnel vacations from September 15th to September 28th. During this time, Apple is expected to release the next generation iPhone, possibly the new budget iPhone as well. Apart from launching the new smartphones, the company is also going to publicly roll out iOS 7 to the public. AppleInsider has reportedly received an internal company document which shows that Apple has blocked vacation time for AppleCare employees in the aforementioned dates, the document is said to have been accessed through a virtual private network from an Apple domain that’s exclusive to internal employees only.

Three of the major U.S. carriers have also reportedly blocked employee vacations in the second half of September, the carriers include T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon. All of these signs point to an imminent iPhone launch. Apple is rumored to unveil two new iPhones on September 10th. It is expected that the new smartphones will be launched across all major U.S. carriers, there are four – add Sprint to the previous list, at the same time. The launch itself has been rumored to take place on September 20th, though it should be kept in mind that the company hasn’t confirmed anything as yet. Apple support vacation blackout dates suggest September iPhone launch

A document has surfaced today from the inner realm of Apple product support that suggests the dates between and including September 15th through the 29th will not be available for employee vacation. This range of dates for a blackout provided by AppleInsider suggest something very similar to what we saw earlier this week from T-Mobile […]

iOS 7 AppleCare employee training schedule further supports a September 10 event

AppleCare employees are said to have begun iOS 7 training. The details suggest the training process began today, but perhaps a bit more important is when they are expected to have everything completed. Details coming from 9to5Mac mention how those employees should have everything finished by the second week of September. In other words, this […]

iOS 7 September 10 release seemingly confirmed by developer email

Many have assumed that iOS 7 would be released on September 10, a date that came to public attention after an Apple event was leaked. While seemingly supported by anecdotal evidence, the date has apparently been confirmed by an email that Nuance sent out to developers, in which the company states that the iOS 7 […]

iOS 7 For iPad Release Might Be Delayed [Rumor]

iOS 7 For iPad Release Might Be Delayed [Rumor]

Apple unveiled iOS 7 firmware back in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2013. Back then the company said that it would release iOS 7 for the public this fall. Till now Apple has not provided a confirmed release date, though most people expect iOS 7 to drop for compatible devices after Apple is done with next generation iPhone announcements, which are presumably taking place on September 10th. When iOS 7 beta 1 was released, it did not come with support for the iPad. Now we’re at beta 6 and iPad support has long been added, but rumor has it that the public release of iOS 7 for iPad might be delayed, and that it might come approximately a month after iOS 7 for iPhone and iPod touch is released.

Rumor is that Apple is experiencing issues with bringing over iOS 7 to the iPad. Developers who have been testing the beta versions have reportedly found stability issues with the new OS on Apple’s tablet. So if iOS 7 for iPhone and iPod touch is expected to be released in mid-September, there exists a possibility that for iPad the update might not come until late September or even early October. Since there’s no confirmation regarding iOS 7 release plans right now, its best to take this rumor with a grain of salt.

    Gold iPhone 5S looks a September 10 lock-in

Apple‘s iPhone 5S will almost certainly come in a gold or champagne finish, multiple sources have confirmed with insiders familiar with the next-gen iOS 7 flagship smartphone, describing the finish as “elegant” rather than gaudy.
