iOS 7.1 Beta Download Available Now For Developers

iOS 7.1 Beta Download Available Now For Developers

It was back in September when Apple finally released iOS 7 to the public. Apple’s latest and greatest iOS update, which totally changes the look and feel of the OS, has been very well received. Since the release, Apple has rolled out a few incremental updates to fix some bugs but it hasn’t made any drastic changes. That would come in a major update like iOS 7.1. Today, iOS 7.1 beta download became available for registered developers, which confirms that Apple has already started working on the next big update.

As of now, it can’t be said for sure exactly what new features Apple is going to add into iOS 7.1. Its possible that some user interface changes might be made as well. This is just the first beta version, we can expect the company to seed a few more before the update is ready for public release. It is obviously too soon to say right now when Apple intends to release iOS 7.1 to the public. Registered developers can now head over to the developers’ portal and download iOS 7.1 for supported devices, which include all smartphones from iPhone 4 up to iPhone 5s, the third and fourth generation iPads as well as the iPad Air, the original and the Retina iPad mini and the fourth and fifth generation iPod touch.

iPad mini Retina Display review – the holy grail of tablets

It’s the iPad mini we’ve been waiting for: Apple’s smaller tablet that, thanks to a Retina display and brand new A7 processor, now punches above its size and makes a legitimate alternative not only for compact-screen Android and Windows rivals, but Apple’s own iPad Air too. That Apple has achieved all that with minimal compromises […]

    Apple Releases iOS 7.0.4

    Apple Releases iOS 7.0.4

It was rumored last week that Apple might release an incremental iOS 7 firmware update in the near future. Web traffic from devices running iOS 7.0.4 started increasing last week, presumably because the update was being tested by Apple’s employees prior to its release. Today, Apple has released iOS 7.0.4, its an incremental update which does not bring any major features. It only brings a few bug fixes.

The official release notes state that this update, iOS 7.0.4 build 11B554a, comes with “bug fixes and improvements.” It also brings a fix for an issue that caused FaceTime calls to fail for some users. This update is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. All smartphones from iPhone 4 right up to iPhone 5s are covered, and so are all tablets from iPad 2 to the recently released iPad Air. iPad mini and the Retina iPad mini are compatible with this update as well, and the fourth generation and fifth generation iPod touch models are included too. Apple releases the updates over-the-air, so they can be downloaded and installed right on the device itself. No need to connect to a computer, simply head to the Settings app and go to the Software Update section. IOS 7.0.4 weighs in at 37.6MB.
