Square for iOS now records and tracks payments, prints over Bluetooth

Many shops that use Square readers still have to accept checks and gift cards, but they haven’t had an easy time reconciling those physical payments with the digital variety. Thankfully, updated versions of Square for Android and iOS should bring harmony by recording and tracking payments in virtually any format. The new release is particularly friendly to iPads serving as registers, giving them both cash management tools and support for printing receipts over Bluetooth. Storeowners whose sales still involve lots of paper or plastic will want to grab the latest Square apps through the source links.

Receiptmate for iOS: Make E-Budgeting Easier With Scannable Receipts

No one save receipts anymore. We buy nearly everything either online or with a credit card, so since we basically have an electronic record of most of our purchases, it’s become too easy to toss any potential paper trail. But some of our payments are still made in cash, and if you really want to track your budget, you need to track it all. Receiptmate makes it easy.

Does Apple drive the tablet market, or ASUS?

Apple to restore most remaining Dev Center services this week

Apple and its developer community have had a few rough weeks: hackers struck Apple’s Dev Center in mid-July, and the company’s efforts to both recover and rejuvenate the portal have been slow going. Things are looking up, however, as the company just sent word that it will restore most of the remaining services this week. These will include crucial elements like enrollments and renewals, although Apple has already extended current developers’ memberships to avoid interruptions. While there’s still a few missing pieces, it’s clear that developers can soon return to business as usual.

iOS 7 Beta 5 Looks Likely

iOS 7 Beta 5 Looks LikelyYes sir, sometime at the end of last month, there were whispers of iOS 7 Beta 4 being seeded soon, and “soon” there was a relative word, since it did not take too long before – within the same day itself, in fact, that we reported iOS 7 Beta 4 was seeded afterwards. Well, it did not take too long before we hear whispers that iOS 7 Beta 5 could very well be on its way, too. After all, it is the circle of life (for a software, at least), where one would release alpha, beta and release candidate versions of one’s software so that private and/or public users are able to give it a go, before feedback from these users help the software house to change their work in order to have a smooth as possible rollout eventually.

It does seem as though new hardware will be arriving from Apple in the fall, and September 20th (all right, so the more dogmatic among you might argue that fall starts from September 22nd, but hey, whatever floats your boat) could very well be the date where the next generation iPhone launches. Considering how iOS 7 beta 4 looks set to expire this coming September 12th, do you think that there is a very high possibility of checking out iOS 7 Beta 5?
