Double Dragon Trilogy To Make Its Way Onto iOS And Android

If you grew up playing arcade games then chances are you might have heard of the Double Dragon video game. The good news is that if you were hoping to relive some memories and replay the game for nostalgic purposes, you’re in luck because a compilation of Double Dragon games will be making its way onto your mobile devices and will play nicely with both the iOS and Android platform. The game was originally released in 1987 and has since been remade for a variety of consoles. No word on when the game will be released, but according to its description, it states that it will be “coming soon on iOS / Android”, so we guess we will just have to play the waiting game for now.

The compilation, dubbed the Double Dragon Trilogy, will feature all three installments of the original arcade series. This includes Double Dragon, Double Dragon 2: The Revenge, and Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone. It will also feature two game modes: Arcade and Story, with former involving racking up as many points as possible, while the latter will unlock stages and achievements. There will be three different difficulty levels and for gamers looking to relive the authentic experience, you will be able to choose the original 8-bit soundtrack, although a remastered soundtrack is also available. There will also be a co-op mode (score!) that allows players to play over Bluetooth and will also support gamepads.

    There is no “Apple Trap”

There’s a conspiracy theory appearing in print this week summoning up the suggestion that Apple purposefully creates products that become obsolete over time. BBM For Android And iOS Will Remain Free

After the initial roll out was plagued with issues, BlackBerry tried its luck once again last week and rolled out BBM for Android and iOS. The second time around, the launch went smoothly. BlackBerry was also quick to abolish to waitlist after launch so that users could get immediate access to the messenger, which is now finally cross-platform. At this point in time, the BBM app for Android and iOS is available for free. Executive vice president of BBM at BlackBerry, Andrew Bocking, confirms that the service will remain free in the future.

Though that doesn’t mean BlackBerry won’t monetize it. Bocking says that they have “other ideas” to monetize BBM on Android and iOS. He also promised the release of a couple of new features, which are exclusive to BBM on BlackBerry right now, for other platforms “within months.” These features include video and voice chats. BBM Channels, a social networking feature, is also expected to come on other platforms soon. The feature lets users gather followers and share content with them, BlackBerry may monetize it through advertising and marketing, Bocking says. BBM on Android and iOS is off to a good start. The app garnered over 10 million downloads initially, and continues to sit in the top charts of free apps. Things seem to be looking up at least for one part of BlackBerry.
