One day after the newest Apple event in which they showed off a set of new iPads and desktop machines and Microsoft has fired back at Apple’s most interesting move: free software. BlackBerry Fixing BBM For iOS

BlackBerry Fixing BBM For iOSAssuming you were one of those who actually went ahead to install BBM for iOS, there is a very good chance that you might have actually noticed the particular update to iOS 7.0.3 that appeared on Tuesday caused this particular messaging app to crash. This happens whenever you press a contact name that is listed under Chats, although there were other users who reported that the app crashes the moment it is opened. Apparently, the cause of this problem has been narrowed down to iOS 7 support for the font used by BBM, “HelveticaNeue-Italic”, which happened to be removed with the new update.

As we wait for BlackBerry to issue a fix for this oversight, you will be pleased to hear that there is still a workaround to boot. The moment you launch BBM for iOS, do not press a contact name under Chats, but rather, a long tap on a contact name will reveal a slide out screen that appears from the right side. Located right at the bottom of the slide out screen would be a trash can icon that can be used to delete the whole thread involving the contact selected. Pressing this icon would bring up a new window, letting you “End Chat”. T

Once done, just head on to the Contacts tab, click on the name of the person whom you intend to “talk” with, and it should be all systems go then.

Add Your Own Wireless Capability To Your DSLR, And Save On Said DSLR

Add Your Own Wireless Capability To Your DSLR, And Save On Said DSLR

Camera makers have been extremely stubborn about adding Wifi to their DSLR’s, but you add your own wireless capability to your photo rig with the Toshiba Flash Air 8GB SD Memory Card. It’s about as elegant as a third-party solution to a first-party problem gets, and it’s cheap. I always keep one in my memory card arsenal for when the need arises. $26. [eBay]
