Its no secret that BlackBerry could use some money. The company has been hemorrhaging cash for the past few years, and with device sales not expected to recover anytime soon, it has to look towards other options. Ever since BlackBerry Messenger was opened up to other platforms, its user base has swelled to over 85 million. The company now looks to cash in on that. Its banking on the popularity of stickers, and will also offer brands the opportunity to sponsor posts in BBM channels.

Instant messaging has definitely offered tough and serious competition to the traditional SMS model, and in the realm of instant messaging apps itself, the rivalry is fierce. When WhatsApp suffered from an outage in February this year, another service known as Telegram actually gained a few million users along the way. Well, Telegram now has 35 million members, where 15 million of them happen to be active members who make use of Telegram on a daily basis. In fact, in the past 30 days alone, the Telegram app has received a whopping 8 billion messages.

LG announced the release of a new Smart Bulb in the coming days in Korea that interacts with you through your iOS or Android device. This new LED light bulb comes with some pretty nifty features which are already leaving us wanting in the US.
This simple but handy features include blinking the light when you have a call on your device, and having a light slowly brighten as a silent alarm from your mobile device. The LG Smart Bulb can also be set to turn on and off for periods of time during the day while you are away on vacation to make house look as if someone is home. Another cool feature allows your mobile OS to set mood lighting based on the music that it’s playing. So having some really intense music will generate a bright light, while more subdued music will generate low light.
The bulb will be for sale in Korea in the coming days for around $32 which sounds like a bargain to us considering it is supposed to last up to just over 18,000 hours.

Twitter #Music has been around for over a year. It never really took off after its launch, which came as a result of We Are Hunted’s acquisition by Twitter back in 2012. The team behind We Are Hunted built Twitter #Music as a service that provide users with an entirely new method for music discovery, based on what music and artists were generating the most buzz on Twitter. Active development on the iOS app has been halted for months, and today it was officially announced that Twitter #Music will no longer be available on the App Store.
