iPad Air Price At Walmart Will Be $479

iPad Air Price At Walmart Will Be $479

The iPad Air goes on sale in select markets, including the U.S., on November 1st. Apple still continues to offer the 16GB Wi-Fi only base model for $499, and there’s a huge possibility that a lot of customers will line up outside its stores to purchase various models of the new tablet. The tablet will also be sold through Apple’s retail channel and carrier partners. Walmart has decided to undercut Apple’s MSRP by $20, the retailer has announced that it will sell the 16GB Wi-Fi iPad Air for $479.

Walmart hasn’t said as yet if it will discount prices of other models of the iPad Air itself. This isn’t the first time that the retailer has undercut prices. It currently offers the iPhone 5s for $189 on contract, $11 off the MSRP. It has slashed iPhone 5c price to $45 from the MSRP of $99, both smartphones are offered with a two year contract. It will be interesting to see if this move ends up bringing in an increase in sales come launch day. The retailer hasn’t said if this $20 discount is a limited time thing or if it will continue to be offered. Walmart will start selling the iPad Air to customers on November 1st. It will be interesting to see if other retailers, such as Target, follow Walmart’s lead.

Apple Retail Stores To Open Early On iPad Air Launch Day

Apple Retail Stores To Open Early On iPad Air Launch Day

Apple launched its hotly anticipated tablet, the iPad Air, on October 22nd after months of endless rumors. iPad-hungry customers will be lining up outside Apple Retail Stores to pick up the new tablet, most probably. This time around, Apple had decided to open up its stores an hour early than their usual opening time. Apple Retail Stores will open on 8 a.m. local time on November 1st, when the iPad Air goes on sale. This isn’t the first time that the company is doing this, only recently it opened up stores an hour early for the launch of iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c.

As was the case with the iPhone 5s, Apple isn’t taking iPad Air pre-orders in advance. Customers will be allowed to pre-order their units on November 1st, but like before, they won’t be able to place an order in advance so that it is delivered to them on launch day. Its likely that iPad Air pre-orders might be opened up on 12:01 a.m., November 1st. The iPad Air is not the only tablet that Apple has announced, the company also unveiled the Retina iPad Mini. Though it is not known right now exactly when this tablet goes on sale, Apple says it will become available later in November.

iPad Air sparks iPad Pro tablet talk

Almost immediately after Apple’s iPad Air was revealed earlier this week, talk of the next generation began. With the name “Air” in Apple’s notebook lineup, one of two different naming conventions, word sprung up that an iPad Pro could be in the works. While we’ve seen more than our fair share of leaks and tips […]

iPad Air Receives Disapproval From Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak

iPad Air Receives Disapproval From Apple Co Founder Steve Wozniak

Apple unveiled its iPad Air, and even though there’s been a lot of chatter online in regards to the company’s name choice for their upcoming tablet, there’s one thing we’re sure we can all agree on: it looks pretty thin and light. Now that Steve Jobs is no longer around to influence what goes into any of the new Apple products, we’re left wondering what the famous CEO would think of the latest iPad. On the other hand, we still have Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak around, and it looks like he’s none too pleased about the iPad Air. (more…)

AT&T Offers iPad Air This November 1st Also

AT&T Offers iPad Air This November 1st AlsoThe dust must have settled already when it comes to the iPad Air’s release as well as its smaller brother, the iPad mini which will be equipped with a Retina display. We have already heard announcements from Sprint and T-Mobile concerning their carrying of the new iPad Air, with the latter offering free data under certain plans, too. Well, it is now AT&T’s turn to step up to the plate with the announcement that they too, will offer the iPad Air with Wi-Fi + Cellular this coming November 1, and the iPad mini with Retina display with Wi-Fi + Cellular will hit their stores later in the same month.

Ralph de la Vega, president & CEO, AT&T Mobility, shared, “Each year, more of our customers want iPad to connect to our mobile internet. We offer the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network, and are giving our customers the most flexible plans to connect to that network.”

We sure hope that Vega’s right about network reliability, as I am quite sure that there are always some blind spots in certain areas, no matter how good a provider is. Well, back to the topic at hand – data plans for these new iPads will include AT&T Mobile Share, where you are able to add a tablet to a sharable bucket of data for $10 monthly, settle for pay-per-use plans which range from a 250MB day pass for $5 to a 30-day, 5GB pass for $50. iPad Air Orders Could Hit 10 Million In Q4 2013

iPad Air Orders Could Hit 10 Million In Q4 2013With Apple announcing the new iPad Air yesterday, we expect that there will be plenty of customers who can’t wait to get their hands on the device. After all the tablet has managed to maintain its screen size while becoming thinner and slightly narrower, thanks to the bezels being thinner than before. However according to reports, it seems that Apple has placed orders for only 10 million units for Q4 2013 for the iPad Air. While that number is still pretty impressive and could imply how many units Apple plans to sell, it is still a drop from the 14 million sold back in Q4 2012.

This number is expected to be offset with the iPad mini 2 with Retina display, where customers who don’t need the size and don’t want the weight of the iPad Air will turn to. In fact this was one of the alleged concerns Apple had about including a Retina display with their next-fen iPad mini. We had heard that the Cupertino company was worried that the inclusion could drive sales away from the larger iPad. In any case perhaps Apple’s fears are unfounded, but either way we guess we will have to wait for the official numbers to be released to see how well both tablets do. What do you guys think? Will customers start turning towards the iPad mini 2 rather than the larger iPad Air?

Amazon Takes A Swing At Apple’s New iPad Air

Amazon Takes A Swing At Apples New iPad AirApple officially announced the iPad Air at yesterday’s event and while the tablet is thinner, it is relatively heavy at 1 pound, at least when compared to other tablets such as Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX which weighs in slightly less at 0.82 pounds, although in all fairness the tablet is smaller compared to Apple’s recently announced tablet. However that has not stopped the company from taking a swing at Apple’s recent announcement by releasing an ad (pictured above) where the tagline reads, “Lighter than Air”, which we can only assume is referring to Apple’s iPad Air.

While it’s hardly a fair comparison, given that hardware and operating system of either tablet is different, we guess it’s still pretty clever. Amazon’s has had a pretty decent amount of success with their Kindle Fire Android tablets and we expect that success to continue with the Kindle Fire HDX, but at the same time it would be interesting to see what sort of numbers both Amazon and Apple will release regarding the sales of either tablet, but what do you guys think? Will Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX beat out Apple’s iPad Air?
