It didn’t take long: the iPad Air has just launched and you can be sure that a tsunami of accessories are coming out. Earlier this week Apple announced the iPad Air, its brand new tablet that’s thinner and lighter than all of its predecessors. Apple will begin selling the new tablet on November 1st online and through its retail stores in select locations around the world. This time around, T-Mobile is also offering the new iPad with cellular support and it appears that that’s just one part of Apple’s broader roll out on cellular network. U.S. Cellular and a number of other regional carriers have announced that they’ll all be selling the iPad Air.
Out of the bunch, U.S. Cellular is actually the only one that has confirmed that it will also be selling the new iPad mini with Retina display. Though it is not known when that will happen, seeing as how even Apple hasn’t provided a concrete release date for the Retina display touting iPad mini as yet. The iPad Air will be available from U.S. Cellular come November 8th. Regional carriers such as C Spire and Bluegrass Cellular both say that they’ll begin selling the tablet in the coming weeks. While regional carriers aren’t big enough to contribute a significant bump in Apple’s balance sheets, its a good move on the company’s part to ensure that they have as many carriers onboard as they can, both regional and national.

Posted in: Today's ChiliGuten Tag, and welcome to a very special (Saturday) edition of the TechCrunch Gadgets Podcast.
This week, Apple unveiled the iPad Air, the thinnest, lightest, and most powerful iPad yet. But is it an upgrade worth your cash? Is it light enough to truly become a one-handed device, as MG Siegler suggests?
Plus, as the gadgeteers are traveling through Berlin for Disrupt Europe, we thought it worthwhile to discuss how to travel abroad with your favorite gadgets.
It’s a podcast for the ages, featuring John Biggs, Matt Burns, Jordan Crook, and Greg Kumparak.

Earlier today, both Bluegrass Cellular and C Spire, a couple of regional carriers, revealed their iPad Air plans in part, confirming that the 4G version of the Apple slate will be available to their subscribers. Joining them is U.S. Cellular, which has announced its own iPad Air events, pegging availability as being early next month. […]
Regional carriers C Spire and Bluegrass Cellular have thrown their LTE hats into the ring for Apple’s new iPad Air, confirming they will be offering the 4G version of the new slimline tablet announced earlier this week. The commitment follows AT&T, Verizon, and the other big carriers each announcing support for the cellularly-enabled iPad Air, […]
The world did more or less stop in its tracks earlier this week, as Apple made an announcement which touched on not one, but two iPads – the iPad Air that is thinner and lighter than ever before despite being more powerful, alongside the iPad mini with Retina display, a feature that iPad mini users have been hoping for to arrive for quite some time already. Well, this can only mean one thing – the potentially huge number of people who will be upgrading to the iPad Air would also need a slew of new accessories to go along with their device, and this is where the Trent Airbender 2.0 would be able to step up to the challenge.
The Trent Airbender 2.0 would come in the form of a durable, hard clam shell case where it will be accompanied by a detachable Bluetooth keyboard that makes it ideal for home or office use. Not only that, the Trent Airbender 2.0 will also be able to deliver the necessary protection against minor scratches and knocks, not to mention the added functionality to the iPad Air thanks to its 360 degree rotating case for landscape or portrait viewing angles. Oh yeah, as we also mentioned earlier, there is also the user friendly Bluetooth keyboard that should make your typing on the go a whole lot easier compared to relying on a touchscreen display.
The Trent Airbender 2.0’s ultra low-profile, built-in keyboard will be able to hook up to the iPad Air seamlessly thanks to Bluetooth connectivity. This particular keyboard would feature tactile, chiclet keys that ought to deliver a comfortable, all-round typing experience. Apart from that, this keyboard will aso be accompanied by a row of convenient shortcut keys that would hopefully be able to enhance productivity and efficiency whenever you are taking down notes or drafting documents on the iPad Air. It can be folded up easily for convenient transport, where its compact design should make it fit into any carry-on, backpack, purse or briefcase. Those who are interested in picking up the new Trent Airbender 2.0 will be able to do so on the same day that the iPad Air is available – this coming November 1st for $54.95 a pop.

iPad Air gets thumbs-down from Woz
Posted in: Today's ChiliSteve Wozniak has been vocal about the new iPad Air, and while he wasn’t critical of the device in general, he did say that it isn’t a slate that is applicable to him. He went on to explain why, and in doing so revealed the perhaps more surprising detail about his home Internet, namely that […]
Earlier this month, we saw retailers offering price cuts on the iPhone 5c shortly after the smartphone’s launch, with Walmart in particular having launched the phone with an initial $20 pricing undercut of Apple, leading into a steeper discount soon after. Now it has done the same for the newly revealed iPad Air, with the […]
The iPad Air versus iPad mini with Retina display shopping question could be decided by severe shortages of the smaller tablet, analysts predict, with suggestions that supplies of the new high-resolution display could amount to less than a third Apple will need to meet demand. “Production is still ramping up on the 7.9-inch Retina panel […]
