Retina iPad Mini Launch On October 22nd Rumored Once Again

Retina iPad Mini Launch On October 22nd Rumored Once Again

We’ve gone back and forth many times on the possibility of the next iPad mini having a Retina display. There have been rumors in favor of the possibility, predictions on the contrary. We’ve heard it all from unverified sources, major news outlets and Wall Street analysts. A well known analyst, Peter Misek of Jefferies, is back again with his very own prediction, claiming that Apple is “more likely” to launch Retina iPad mini this quarter than to delay it in the first quarter of 2014, as has been rumored recently.

It has been said numerous times that Retina iPad mini launch is going to be delayed due to supply constraints of display panels. Based on these purported supply constraints, it has been speculated that perhaps Apple is going to delay the launch to Q1, 2014. Misek believes that Retina iPad mini is going to be launched this year, but it is likely to be in short supply, he predicts as little as 2 – 5 million units. He predicts the price as well, expecting it to retain the $329 price tag of the existing base model of the iPad mini. It goes without saying that a lot of us are quite done with the perpetual confusion of will Apple or won’t Apple launch the Retina iPad mini this year. Fortunately, its iPad event is merely four days away.

iPad Mini 2 Could Outsell Regular iPad 2:1

iPad Mini 2 Could Outsell Regular iPad 2:1We’re sure many are excited for Apple’s event on the 22nd of October where the new iPad 5 and the new iPad mini 2 are expected to be unveiled. While the iPad 5 will be exciting in the sense that it might sport a new look, the iPad mini 2 could be an even bigger hit as the rumors have suggested that the tablet will be getting a Retina display, making it even sharper and crisp. Granted it does boil down to personal preference, but one analyst seems to believe that the iPad mini 2 could have the potential to outsell the iPad 5 by a factor of 2:1, assuming of course Apple is able to meet the demand.

According to Amit Daryanani of RBC Capital Markets, he expects the new iPad mini to account for about 65% of Apple’s overall tablet sales, with the larger iPad accounting for the remaining 35%. There is a caveat in his prediction and that is if only Apple is able to meet the demand for the device. As you might have heard, the iPad mini 2 could be delayed or have its supply constrained, possibly to 2014 as there have been reports that its Retina display is giving manufacturers trouble. However assuming Apple is able to pull it off, then Daryanani expects his prediction of the iPad mini selling 2:1 to the regular iPad to come true. What do you guys think? Will the Retina iPad mini 2 end up outselling the regular iPad?

New iPads Could Arrive On T-Mobile According To CEO’s Tweet

New iPads Could Arrive On T Mobile According To CEOs TweetCome 22nd of October, Apple will be holding an event in which many believe the new iPad 5 and the iPad mini 2 will be announced. We would expect that both tablets could be made available for purchase shortly after its announcement, most likely via Apple’s retail store or online store, but perhaps there is a good chance that T-Mobile might offer up the new iPads as well, thanks to a recent tweet by the carrier’s CEO in which he asked who is excited for the 22nd of October, which is the same day that Apple’s event will be held.

While the 22nd of October reference could be made regarding Nokia’s own press event, the tweet saw a link to an article covering Apple’s event. As it stands, T-Mobile is the only major carrier in the US to not offer an LTE iPad. Just as they were the last to carry the iPhones, they are the last to offer the iPad, but hopefully if this tweet is any indication, T-Mobile subscribers might be able to look forward to getting their hands on Apple’s new iPads along with LTE data plans via the carrier in the near future. Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled, so be sure to check back with us on the 22nd of October for the details.
