Just as Apple teased last year at this same annual event, a covered banner has been hung – floating above the crowds at WWDC 2013 waiting to get in to the week’s first major keynote. This banner is the same size as those already unveiled on the first level of the Moscone Center where the
This year’s big Apple developers conference has arrived, WWDC 2013, and SlashGear is now on the scene to bring the full top-to-bottom report to you, up close and personal. While the main entry point for Apple’s major keynote for this multi-day event will be accessible to you via SlashGear’s WWDC 2013 liveblog portal (starting at
As we inch closer to Apple’s annual developers conference WWDC, inside sources appear to have “confirmed” details many publications had already either sources themselves or had guessed at, one way or the other. The bulk of these details center on the updated aesthetics and usability of iOS 7, as made real by Jony Ive, and
Last year at around this time, it wasn’t exactly clear what Apple would be revealing inside iOS 6. It wasn’t exactly a secret, either. Here on the eve of WWDC 2013, Apple has created a bit of an information vacuum surrounding their next-generation mobile operating system. Here’s what we know: we know iOS 7 will
Apple’s big WWDC 2013 keynote will be starting at 10AM PST tomorrow morning (that’s June 10th, if you did not know), and SlashGear will be bringing a liveblog to you straight from inside the Moscone Center. If the banners we’ve seen tied with the rumors, tips, and suggestions hold true, we’ll be seeing an event
WWDC is coming up quick, folks. On Monday, we’d like to think that Apple will be announcing some new products, including some new MacBooks, a possible iRadio announcement, and maybe a Mac Pro refresh. However, something we’re almost certain about is an iOS 7 unveil, thanks to getting a peek at the banners at Moscone
iPad keyboard case roundup: Logitech Folio vs. Belkin Ultimate vs. ClamCase Pro
Posted in: Today's ChiliListen, you probably shouldn’t be here. The iPad is a pure and carefully honed machine. If its designers wanted you to use some kind of ludicrous hybrid contraption that fused a tablet with a physical keyboard and doubled the weight, they’d have built one for you. But they didn’t. So go away and don’t come back until you’ve saved enough money to buy a MacBook Air. (Still here? Good, because we’re about to compare three of the latest iPad keyboard cases: the ClamCase Pro, Logitech’s Folio and Belkin’s Ultimate Keyboard, designed to fit 2nd, 3rd and 4th-gen tablets. Read on for more.)

WWDC 2013: what you WON’T be seeing
Posted in: Today's ChiliStarting Monday, Apple’s 2013 iteration of their developers convention WWDC begins in San Francisco – and there’s a lot you’ll not be seeing. It’s not that there’ll be a lot of information under the skin and behind closed doors, that’s not what this is all about. Instead, it’s all about what’s still in the wings
Canada’s NFB releases McLaren’s Workshop for iPad, lets you create your own animated films
Posted in: Today's ChiliThe National Film Board of Canada already has a few apps to its name, in addition to some other innovative internet-based efforts, and it’s now branched out even further with a full-fledged filmmaking app. Now available for the iPad, McLaren’s Workshop is a tribute of sorts to the work of animation pioneer Norman McLaren, known for the likes of Neighbours and Blinkity Blank. Not only does it let you watch 51 of McLaren’s short films and 11 documentaries about him, but it provides the tools necessary for you to create your own animated films using three of the techniques he’s known for (which you can then share on Vimeo). All that can be done for free, while two additional workshops available in the app will cost you $2.99 apiece. Head on past the break for a look at the app itself and some films created with it that were commissioned by the NFB.

Just days away from the start of the multi-day event, Apple has begun to decorate the Moscone Center West in San Francisco for its yearly developers conference WWDC. This year’s first banner appears to bring iOS 7 to the mix with a clear and present – and massive – number 7 in rainbow-colored font. Though
