The iPhone 5C Is Already Involved in a Labor Violations Scandal

The iPhone 5C Is Already Involved in a Labor Violations Scandal

A little less than a week before it’s supposed to be unveiled to the public, the iPhone 5C is attracting attention from human rights groups for possible labor violations. While it feels like deja vu after the many Foxconn scandals, there’s an important difference this time. The factory is American-owned.

Telus To Discontinue 32GB And 64GB iPhone 5 Models

Telus To Discontinue 32GB And 64GB iPhone 5 ModelsApple will be announcing the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C on the 10th of September, at least that’s what everyone seems to be speculating at the moment. However the question is while the devices could be debuted then, when will we see the new phones launch? The 20th of September is a date that many believe is the day Apple will release both devices to the masses, and thanks to a recent leaked document from Canadian carrier, Telus, the 20th of September date seems to be more or less the date we can look forward to.

The leaked document from the carrier has revealed that the carrier’s plans to discontinue both the 32GB and 64GB models of the iPhone 5, leaving the iPhone 5 16GB as an entry-level model of sorts. The discontinuation is expected to take place on the 28th of September which seems to be just a week after Apple allegedly releases the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. Previously it had been speculated that the iPhone 5 could be discontinued entirely as Apple will rely on the iPhone 5C as its low-cost alternative model, but we suppose a 16GB iPhone 5 model could take the spot in carrier’s as a $99 device (on contract).

Apple confirms September 10th iPhone event, and we’ll be there live!

Apple confirms September 10th iPhone event, and we'll be there live!

The next iPhone will be (presumably) unveiled on September 10th, as hinted at on the Apple-delivered invite that you see above. When the curtains pull back, it’ll be nearly a year to the day since the iPhone 5 was ushered into reality, and it’ll no doubt be a monumentally important day for the company. Particularly compared to the barrage of products Apple introduced in 2012 — iPad mini, iPhone 5, the MacBook Pro with Retina display, enhanced MacBook Air / iMac / Mac mini lines, a redesigned iPod nano, a revised iPad / iPod touch / Apple TV, ad OS X Mountain Lion — 2013 has been eerily quiet. Outside of a tweaked iPhone 5 for T-Mobile’s network, a Haswell-infused MacBook Air and a tease of the next-generation Mac Pro, we’ve been left with little more than hopes for newly-inspired versions of iOS and OS X.

That changes on the 10th of September, as at the very least, we’re expecting a next-gen iPhone to hit the stage. We’ll also be holding out hope for an oh-so-colorful lower-end iPhone 5C for emerging markets — markets where Android and even Windows Phone are the platforms of choice for communities making the move into the smartphone era. We wouldn’t put it past Apple to also revise its iPad line while it’s at it, and naturally, iOS 7 should be just about primed for release to the masses. As you’d expect, we’ll be on hand in Cupertino in order to liveblog every second of the action, and we’d invite you to cast your best guesses on what’s to come in comments below.

iPhone 5C image leak tips iPod touch like plastic packaging

Everything seems to be lining up for a September 10th announcement from Apple. And to that point, the evidence seems to be mounting for the iPhone 5C, with the “C” looking like it will stand for color. We have seen a few iPhone 5C related image leaks in the past and as of today it […]

Wal-Mart iPhone 5 And iPad Prices Slashed

Wal Mart iPhone 5 And iPad Prices SlashedIt is not abnormal to hear of discounts being introduced to the iPhone at this time of the year, but Wal-Mart might prove to to have an offer that you cannot refuse – as they have introduced price cuts so steep, you might even be moved to pick up an iPhone 5 even though you have been holding out for an iPhone 5S all this while. According to Wal-Mart, they have reduced the 16GB iPhone 5 to just $98 a pop, compared to its previous price point of $129 (which by the way, is still significantly more affordable compared to the standard $199.99 price tag of the iPhone 5). In order to qualify for this particular discount, you will need to sign up with AT&T, Verizon or Sprint for a new 2-year agreement,

Not only that, Wal-Mart will also reduce the price of its 10” iPads by $50 a pop, which means the most recent iPad with Retina Display model will cost $449 a pop, while the iPad 2 will be $349. Folks who have kept their fingers crossed for a cheaper iPad mini will be disappointed. These price cuts normally signify an effort on the retailer’s part to get rid of old stock with Apple widely expected to unveil the new iPhone 5S, with the possibility of a new iPad this coming September 10th, too.

iPhone 5S Gunmetal parts appear in Japanese repair shop

Though it’s not quite as likely that we’d find official Apple-made hardware leaked to a Japan-based parts replacement store as it would one in China, today’s appearance of a Gunmetal-colored iPhone 5S SIM-tray is intriguing all the same. What we’re seeing here is a series of comparison shots of this Gunmetal color (not black, but […]
