Batmobile Tumbler iPhone 5/5S Case: Not the Case Your Pants Need

Bandai recently started a line of smartphone cases called Crazy Case, and they’re backing up their words with action. As you can see in Drool’d’s shot, the first Crazy Case is a Tumbler Batmobile toy car that happens to have a gap at the bottom big enough for an iPhone 5 or 5S to fit in.

The officially licensed case has several LEDs, including a mobile Batsignal. Its front wheels slide to the side to give way to the iPhone’s camera and sleep button. It also looks absolutely juvenile. I want one.

You can order the case from Bandai for about $57 (USD). It originally appeared on the Japanese Premium Bandai shop, but that site seems to be down as of this writing. You can check it out at Bandai’s Hong Kong shop too.

Buying an iPhone is not confusing. You have a 50% shot of getting it right (unlike the 100% success rate you’d had a few months ago). But if you still need help in deciding which iPhone is best, here’s how we would rank them all.

The Lightstrap iPhone Case Could Be a Phone Photog’s Dream Come True

The Lightstrap iPhone Case Could Be a Phone Photog's Dream Come True

The iPhone 5S may have a fancy new dual-LED flash, but ultimately, it doesn’t make that much difference. Low-light pictures continue to the bane of the phone photographer’s existence, and every blurry, noisy, and/or blown-out shot from a dimly lit bar is a painful reminder. This new case from Brick and Pixel called the Lightstrap might just change that.

iPhone 5 NES Controller Case: Gamer’s Bubble Wrap

The past week saw the release of two natively supported controllers for iOS devices, potentially ushering in an era of more complex games for Apple’s devices. But older gamers yearning for the halcyon days of their hobby may be more excited about ThinkGeek’s NES controller case for the iPhone 5.

I’m pretty sure it’s not an officially licensed case, despite the presence of Nintendo’s logo. Still, the case not only looks like the classic controller, it also has rubber buttons that you can press to your heart’s content. You can’t use it as an actual controller, although I’m sure a tinkerer could make it so.

You can order the iPhone 5 NES controller case from ThinkGeek for $35 (USD). Get the NES skin for the Apple TV and your fake console is complete.

This device has been available off-contract inside the USA previous to today, but until now we’ve not seen the […]

Foaster Dock Toasts iPhones with Lightning Cables

Designer Mike Charles wanted to have a dock for his iPhone that would not only reduce cable clutter but blend in his kitchen as well. He ended up with the Foaster, a dock for the iPhone 5, 5S and 5C that looks just like a toaster. He gets bonus points for not naming it the iToaster.

The Foaster has a plastic body with aluminum trim. It will come with two MFi-certified Lightning-to-USB cables so you can charge up to two iPhones at once. Sadly, unlike a real toaster its slots are not spring-loaded. The phones won’t sink when you plug them in and they certainly won’t pop off when they’re done charging. But at least you can easily plug and unplug your iPhone from the dock.

Pledge at least $79 (USD) on Kickstarer to get a Foaster as a reward. What’s next? Foven for iPads?
