iPhone 5c With Damaged Screens Can Be Repaired In-Store

iPhone 5c With Damaged Screens Can Be Repaired In StoreWhen rumors of a budget iPhone started to make its rounds on the Internet, many people were wondering, and probably anticipating, for a handset that will be able to deliver all of the bells and whistles of the standard issue iPhone, and yet cost just a fraction. Unfortunately, when the iPhone 5s was introduced alongside the cheaper iPhone 5c, the latter did not prove to be all that affordable. In fact, it can be rather expensive too when you think about it and compare it to other Android-powered devices. Still, I am quite sure that the iPhone 5c has its fair share of fans, and this might also translate to those who have damaged their iPhone 5c screens already. Apple has some news that might just lift you from the doldrums, which is the fact that damaged displays of the iPhone 5c can now be repaired in-store in any Apple retail store other than in Hong Kong or Canada.

iPhone 5c Could Be Unintentionally Driving Customers To The iPhone 5s

iPhone 5c Could Be Unintentionally Driving Customers To The iPhone 5sThe iPhone 5c was created by Apple to be a slightly cheaper alternative to those who might not be able to afford the iPhone 5s, or who would rather save money and get something cheaper instead. Prior to the phone being announced, some were speculating that the iPhone 5c would be a budget version intended for developing markets and while it is admittedly cheaper, calling it a budget device is far from the truth. So far the phone has not had much success, to the point where Apple reportedly halted its production in favor of the iPhone 5s. Well as it turns out, the iPhone 5c was something of a success, although perhaps not in the way Apple and many others had imagined.

According to reports from Consumer Intelligence Research, compared to the iPhone 4 when it was the mid-ranged option a year ago, the iPhone 5c is grabbing less market share. However what they did find interesting was how the iPhone 5s grabbed more market share than the iPhone 5 did, suggesting that the iPhone 5c could be driving customers to the iPhone 5s! Given that the phone is not that much cheaper, perhaps some customers are thinking that they don’t mind paying the difference in price for a more “premium” phone. Of course it could be a coincidence but either way, we doubt that this was the way Apple envisioned it, but still a pretty nice side effect anyway.

iPhone 5s Accounted For 59 Percent Of U.S. iPhone Sales Last Quarter [Report]

iPhone 5s Accounted For 59 Percent Of U.S. iPhone Sales Last Quarter [Report]

It goes without saying that the iPhone 5s has proved to be a popular smartphone, not only amongst first time buyers, but also amongst existing iPhone users who have opted for the flagship model as opposed to the relatively cheaper and “unapologetically plastic” iPhone 5c. A new report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners reveals that iPhone 5s generated 59 percent of all iPhones sales in the previous quarter, stealing customers away from the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 4S.

As far as those two iPhones are concerned, the report finds that the iPhone 5c generated 27 percent of the sales and iPhone 4S accounted for 14 percent in the quarter ending December 2013. In contrast, during the same period back in 2012, the newly released iPhone 5 had generated 50 percent of all sales in the quarter whereas its predecessors, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 had accounted for 32 percent and 18 percent respectively. Mike Levin, co-founder and partner at CIRP, said that in the most recent quarter, iPhone models with large storage capacities sold better than ever before. Could this mean that the market is hungry for more onboard storage on an iPhone? Apple has long been rumored to be considering an iPhone with 128GB of storage, perhaps it just might take the plunge with the next generation iPhone.

Analyst Believes Apple Making A Cheap iPhone Is An ‘Insane Idea’

Analyst Believes Apple Making A Cheap iPhone Is An Insane Idea

Prior to the release of its two new iPhones, it was rumored almost every other day that the iPhone 5c is going to be Apple’s first cheap smartphone. Some even believed that it would cost around $300 off contract, which would have definitely made it a relatively cheap smartphone, given that the flagship iPhones have always been sold for a base price of $649 off contract, for the 16GB variant. That didn’t turn out to be true though, the iPhone 5c isn’t as cheap as it was thought to be. Perhaps Apple could go down this road in the future? Analyst Charlie Wolf of Needham & Company believes this would be an “insane idea.”

The entire premise on which the rumors of a cheap iPhone were based was that Apple would do this in order to capture more of the low-end smartphone market. To do that it would have to hit a hypothetical sweet spot with the price, which hovers around $300. Wolf believes not only such a move will have a bad affect on Apple’s profits, it would also do damage to the iPhone brand, which is commonly believed to be a bonafide high-end smartphone brand. Apple is expected to shake up the iPhone lineup in 2014, it is expected to release a smartphone with a larger display. So far rumors of yet another cheap iPhone have not surfaced, but who knows what 2014 has in store for us.

Incipio offGRID Backup Battery Case For iPhone 5c [CES 2014] The iPhone 5c can be said to be the less loved version of the iPhone range. After all, it has failed miserably (relatively speaking, of course) to the iPhone 5s in terms of sales and desirability, what with the gold iPhone 5s taking off in huge numbers regardless of the market in which it was released. Well, just in case you happen to be one of those who wanted a “budget iPhone” and got the iPhone 5c for yourself, here is an accessory that you might want to purchase to keep it company – the Incipio offGRID Backup Battery Case.

The Incipio offGRID Backup Battery Case has been announced at CES this year, where it is said to be able to provide double the battery life of your iPhone 5c, thanks to the inclusion of a concealed battery that has been specially built in the case. To know more about it in greater depth, it has also been designed with a rechargeable battery that sports a powerful 1,700mAh battery capacity, which means you ought to be able to enjoy yet another 8 more hours of extended talk time. This is ideal for those who are often on the move, as the Incipio offGRID Backup Battery Case would not only deliver a greater degree of protection, in addition to extended battery life of course. Not only that, the Incipio offGRID Backup Battery Case even sports a camera ring which is dedicated to reducing glare. You will be able to pick one up in multiple colors for $69.99 apiece.
