Space Gray Found To Be Most Popular Choice For iPhone 5s, Blue For iPhone 5c

Space Gray Found To Be Most Popular Choice For iPhone 5s, Blue For iPhone 5cThe iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c comes in a multitude of colors, with the iPhone 5s being available in Gold, Space Gray, and Silver, while the iPhone 5c comes in Pink, Yellow, White, Green, and Blue, but which color is the most popular? Well according to a survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, it has been found that the Space Gray finish is the most popular for the iPhone 5s, while Blue is the most popular choice when it comes to the iPhone 5c. This is particularly interesting given that the Gold iPhone 5s was originally report as a hit, especially amongst Chinese customers, but we guess this might not necessarily apply to everyone.

The overall popularity of both colors can actually be further split based on gender, which is what the survey has done. They found that men typically favored the Space Gray finish on the iPhone 5s, while women had a slight preference to Silver, while Gold was a somewhat equal split. For the iPhone 5c, white was the most popular choice for men, while women seem to gravitate towards pink. According to CIRP Partner and Co-Founder, Mike Levin, “iPhone 5S and 5C colors seem to confirm some traditional gender biases. In the iPhone 5C, men prefer the neutral white, and the Space Gray in the iPhone 5S. In contrast, women prefer lighter silver 5S and the brighter iPhone 5C colors. Interestingly, no one, including the women in the survey, appears to want the Yellow iPhone 5C very much.”

iPhone sales growth earns new fourth quarter record

Apple announced today it sold 33.8 million iPhones in fiscal 4Q 2013, which is a record for the quarter in any year; last year it sold 26.9 million iPhones in the same quarter. Most impressive, however, is this figure: Apple sold a record 150 million iPhones in the fiscal year on the whole, up 25 […]

iPhone 5c Has Highest Adoption Rate In The U.S.

iPhone 5c Has Highest Adoption Rate In The U.S.

By examining over 40 million unique iPhones through its analytics software, Localytics today published a new report which reveals that the “unapologetically plastic” iPhone 5c actually has the highest adoption rate in the U.S. Prior to its announcement, it was consistently rumored that the iPhone 5c would see greater adoption in markets like China and India, as it was expected to be sold for under $300 off contract. That didn’t happen though, and there’s no data to support that the iPhone 5c has taken the Chinese market by storm, but it does appear to be doing relatively well on home turf.

Localytics’ data indicates that 5.5 percent of all iPhones around the world are accounted for by the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, with the former leading with a market share of 3.8 percent. The most popular iPhone remains the iPhone 5, accounting for almost 40 percent of Apple smartphones around the world, followed by the iPhone 4S in second place with 32.9 percent. The iPhone 5c sees lowest adoption in Germany, but the highest in the U.S., almost 33 percent of the 6.4 percent of all active iPhones in the U.S. that are accounted for by both new iPhones. Could this be due to the fact that the iPhone 5c is available for as low as $49 on contract, as opposed to its high-end sibling, that commands $199 along with a two year contract? That certainly may be one factor, but if the data proves anything, its that the low cost iPhone isn’t exactly making waves in the markets it was initially believed to be out to conquer.

iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c Touchscreens Not As Accurate As Older Galaxy S3

iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c Touchscreens Not As Accurate As Older Galaxy S3While Apple’s iPad mini was found to have the fastest touchscreen, at least amongst tablets, and with Apple’s iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c also being twice as responsive compared to their Android competition, we’re not sure if speed matters especially given that after certain tests were conducted that it was found that both devices’ touchscreens were not as accurate compared to competing products, like the Samsung Galaxy S3. This is according to a test conducted by Finnish testing company, OptoFidelity, who found that during their testing using software and a robotic finger, that the edges of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were poor at detecting touches, a disadvantage that could affect overall typing accuracy on the devices.

For example trying to hit the letters Q, O, and P, could be harder for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c users due to the touchscreen reportedly being less accurate, although in all fairness keyboard accuracy on iPhone devices has not exactly been a major complaint by iPhone users to date. The Samsung Galaxy S3 on the other hand was found to have near-uniform accuracy across the display, suggesting that typing accuracy on Samsung’s smartphone should in theory be more accurate. Our review of the iPhone 5s did not find much fault with the onscreen keyboard, so perhaps the lack of accuracy is made up by good predictability and autocorrection. In any case what do you guys think? Is this something you’ve noticed on your iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c prior to being informed of its inaccuracy?

id America wants to dress up your iPhone 5c in a fancy manner

id-america-chicSo, you have decided to settle for the iPhone 5c since you can no longer wait for the stock of iPhone 5s smartphones to arrive (in a lovely shade of champagne, too). Well, having said that, the next logical thing to do would be to make sure that it is well protected against accidental knocks, drops, and scratches, to the best of your ability, of course. id America has your back in this aspect (and also your iPhone 5c’s back, front, side, the works) with their new Wall St and Ice Hybrid that will definitely do its bit to accessorize the all new iPhone 5c.

First of all, the Wall St will be able to deliver an attractive and useful case all the while adding a touch of modern elegance in the form of a genuine leather wallet. It is not only sleek but protective. And as for the Ice Hybrid, it offers a minimalistic case for new iPhone 5c owners to flaunt the handset’s vivid colors.

The Ice Hybrid Crystal Clear Case also happens to be a dual injection case that is constructed using a strengthened polycarbonate and a durable, rubberized TPU. Thanks to the crystal clear back, it will be able to show off the vibrant colors of the iPhone 5c as mentioned earlier, while the front lip completes the case so that it can enable the iPhone 5c to be popped on and off without breaking a sweat. Thanks to its precise cutouts, one is able to easily access the touchscreen display as well as all the relevant ports and buttons. If you’re interested, the Ice Hybrid can be picked up for $19.95 a pop.

As for the Wall St, it will cost you $34.95 each where it will arrive in half a dozen colors – black, brown, navy, orange, red and white. It is made with premium genuine leather, and the design itself adds less than 3mm of bulk so that your pockets will not be bulging out in an unsightly manner.

iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C Headed To Boost Mobile November 8

iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C Headed To Boost Mobile November 8

Apple’s iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C have been released across a number of wireless carriers around the world, but both devices continue to become available on a number of additional carriers shortly after their official release. Earlier today, we heard the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C would be making their way to U.S. Cellular on November 8, and it looks like we can add another wireless carrier to the list as Boost Mobile is announcing they’ll have Apple’s latest iPhones starting on November 8 as well. iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c Arriving On US Cellular 8th November

iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c Arriving On US Cellular 8th NovemberGood new US Cellular customers, if you guys were a little jealous that the other major carriers, such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile were all offering their subscribers Apple’s new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, you’re in luck because US Cellular has announced that they soon will start carrying both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c come Friday, November the 8th, according to an advertisement on its website. We’re not sure what took US Cellular so long to make the announcement, especially since other smaller carriers have since debuted the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on their networks, but we guess better late than never, right?

In any case we expect that the addition of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c to US Cellular’s portfolio of smartphones will help maintain, perhaps even expand, its current subscriber base. We have seen in the past how carriers who do not offer the iPhone to its customers have basically chased them away to competing carriers that do, so we guess it is in US Cellular’s best interest to offer up the phone as soon as possible! No word on how much the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will cost on US Cellular’s network, but presumably its asking price on-contract will be similar to the price that other carriers are asking for. Either way if you’re a US Cellular subscriber looking forward to either device, the 8th of November is a date you’ll want to mark down on your calendar.
