Alleged iPhone 6 Batteries Spotted On Production Tray

Alleged iPhone 6 Batteries Spotted On Production TrayThanks to a series of leaks and rumors, photos of iPhone-related components have surfaced. Recently we saw molds that are allegedly being used for the next-gen iPhone, a front panel, and now thanks to the folks at French website, Nowhereelse.fr, additional photos have surfaced, this time that of batteries that supposedly belong to the iPhone.

While there’s no way of confirming if the photo is real and if the batteries do belong to the iPhone, their design is reminiscent of the batteries used in previous iPhones, so it is possible that these are indeed iPhone batteries. However it’s probably easy enough to fake such photos, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

However it should be noted that the design of these batteries are slightly different from its predecessors. This is namely due to the metallic section on the battery which now appears at the side, suggesting that the internals of the iPhone could have been rearranged, hinting at a new form factor which seems to be in line with the rumors.

The photos do not mention how big the batteries are in terms of capacity, but hopefully Apple has stepped up its battery size as battery life is one of the primary complaints that iPhone owners have about their phone, at least according to a research that Apple did with their customers.

It’s interesting that photos are being leaked this early in the year which would suggest that Apple is beginning to ramp up production of the next-gen iPhone (or iPhones) that would most likely see a launch in the later part of the year, assuming Apple keeps to their schedule of course. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now until we can get the official word from Apple.

iPhone 6 Price Might Get A Bump [Analyst]

iPhone 6 Price Might Get A Bump [Analyst]

The display may not be the only thing Apple bumps up on iPhone 6 if an analyst is to be believed. Jefferies’ Peter Misek claims in an investor note released today that Apple has been negotiating with mobile carriers about raising the iPhone 6 price by as much as $100. If carriers have to pay more to get the device from Apple, subscribers will subsequently have to pay more monthly to get it from the carriers. However, it seems that carriers aren’t warming up to the idea, at least that’s what Misek claims.

Normally most analyst predictions aren’t even worth the paper they’re printed upon. But there are certain famed Apple analysts that have been right multiple times in the past. Misek is one of those analysts with a hit or miss track record. He believes that Apple might be able to get away with charging more for the new iPhone because no other “game-changing” phones are expected to come out this year.

One might ask why would Apple want to raise iPhone 6 price when its smartphones are already under increasing pressure from relatively cheaper devices. The entire notion behind this seems to be that iPhone 6 will be the only “head-line worthy high-end phone” to be launched later this year and carriers wouldn’t want to miss out on it. So carriers and subscribers may have to split the extra $100 down the middle. If this happens, the base iPhone 6 could cost $250 with a two year service contract.

This move also has the potential of backfiring. Particularly in markets where carrier subsidies don’t exist. Customers pay upfront for their devices, and with the market already flooded with cheaper alternatives, it might be chore to sell them even more expensive iPhones.

Possible iPhone 6 Production Tools And Schematics Spotted [Rumor]

Possible iPhone 6 Production Tools And Schematics Spotted [Rumor]

Is Apple working on two models of the iPhone that could be launched later towards the end of the year? That’s what the rumors are claiming, with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo backing them up. Now thanks to recently leaked photos posted on Weibo (China’s answer to Twitter), possible molds for the two iPhones might have been spotted, along with some schematics which allegedly depict the next-gen iPhone.

As you can see in the image above, the tools pictured look like they could be molds used to create a smartphone. Since smartphones are rectangular in design, there’s no way of knowing if these molds are used for the iPhone, for another smartphone, or if they might be fake. However they do appear to be of different sizes so perhaps they could be the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch sizes that have been rumored about. (more…)

Research Shows High Interest In iPhone 6 Due To Larger Display Rumors

Research Shows High Interest In iPhone 6 Due To Larger Display Rumors

Last month ChangeWave polled more than 4,000 people, who were asked if they would be willing purchase the next iPhone, a.k.a iPhone 6. The findings show that there is already high interest for Apple’s next generation smartphone, which is expected to debut in fall 2014. 14 percent respondents said that they are very likely to purchase it, while 26 percent responded they were somewhat likely.

This 40 percent together shows that there is significant buying interest than there was for Apple’s previous iPhones. ChangeWave conducted a similar poll in March 2013 when rumors about two iPhones being launched were circulating wildly. Back then only 26 percent respondents said they were likely to pick up the new iPhone, despite the fact that even at that time there were rumors about larger displays.

But the rumors seem to make sense now, given the fact that Apple decided to stick with the same size for yet another generation of iPhones. Many Wall Street analysts are now of the view that if Apple doesn’t want iPhone sales to fall flat it is going to have to adopt larger displays. This is presumably why people are now more likely to believe that iPhone 6 is going to follow current market trends, which evidently lean towards large displays.

ChangeWave’s parent company, 451 Research, said that “speculation over a larger screen iPhone is clearly striking a chord with consumers,” and that it is the highest level of demand for an unannounced iPhone ChangeWave has ever seen in its survey.

More iPhone 6 Concept Renders Based On Leaked SchematicsA while back we saw some schematics that allegedly belonged to that of the upcoming iPhone 6. Investors Have Low Expectations From iPhone 6 [Analyst]

Later this year, quite possibly in the second half, Apple is going to launch the iPhone 6. Rumor has it that this time around the company will again launch two models, if it keeps the current naming scheme, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6c. Customers have a lot of expectations, the biggest being increased display sizes. They might be impressed by what Apple puts before them, but Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster believes it will take a lot more to meet the expectations of major Wall Street investors.
