iPhone 5s Price Slashed By Walmart
Posted in: Today's ChiliThere have been rumors concerning the next generation iPhone that has been going around, and even a concept video that depicted the iPhone Air shown, which can only mean one thing – that a new iPhone is definitely in the pipeline, although the exact date of its release remains to be seen or determined. After all, Apple has always done pretty well in the past to hold their cards close to their chest, but with word that the iPhone 5s’ price has been slashed by at least two retailers, it does seem as though an upcoming iPhone model is imminent.

It was just yesterday when we talked about how a certain Staff Sgt. Shaun Frank’s life was apparently saved by his iPhone when his iPhone 5s managed to absorb some of the impact from the ball bearings and shrapnel from a teenage suicide bomber, and hence it was suspected that his smartphone saved his life while he was on tour in Afghanistan. Part of the iPhone 5s’ metal body was able to absorb part of the impact, as well as deflect some of the shrapnel away, but this did not mean that he walked away unscathed, of course – there were still some wounds to heal.

Apple’s iPhones have typically been known for their cameras and for the ability to capture great photos. Obviously one cannot compare iPhone photos to that of a proper camera, but as far as smartphone cameras are concerned, they are surprisingly pretty good.
Of course there are certain areas in which Apple is lacking, such as optical image stabilization and low-light photography, just to name a few areas in which their competitors are beating them in. However according to recent job listings, it seems that Apple is making efforts to step up their camera technology. (more…)

It seems that there is a new change introduced in Apple’s Standard Return Policy which will kick in from tomorrow onwards, as users will only have a 14 calendar day time window to return their recently purchased iPhone without having to give a reason, never mind if it was purchased directly from an Apple Store or via the online route. This particular amendment would place it on par with the return policies of Apple as well as its carrier partners, in addition to the rest of the products from Cupertino.

Posted in: Today's ChiliAs spotted by 9to5Mac, Apple will trim its iPhone return window from 30 days to 14 as of tomorrow. We recently reported on a story about how a toddler saved his mom’s life by using her iPhone to FaceTime her friend who then called 911 who arrived to help her in time. That was a great example of technology used to help save a life, and now we are hearing of another story in which an iPhone was used to save a soldier’s life in Afghanistan.
According to the report, Staff Sgt. Shaun Frank was serving his second tour of duty when he and his team encountered a suicide bomber who then proceeded to blow himself up. The ensuing explosion sent shrapnel all over the place and in every direction. (more…)

With the iPhone 5c, it was Apple’s attempt at releasing a more affordable iPhone handset. It wasn’t exactly that much cheaper, meaning that customers who wanted an iPhone would much rather pay a little more to get the latest hardware, rather than slightly less for older technology, which might explain why the phone is a flop.
However it seems that despite the apparent failure of the iPhone 5c, Apple still has its eye on emerging markets such as India, and according to a recent report from The Economic Times, it has been suggested that Apple is looking to open up more retail stores in India to help push the iPhone to customers living in the region.
