Razer Kazuyo iPhone Gamepad Leaked

Ever since Apple announced they’ll begin supporting external gamepads for the iPhone and iPod touch, several accessory manufacturers have been scrambling to come up with something iOS gamers would want to use instead of on-screen virtual controls. Logitech has teased their “made for iPhone” game controller a few months ago, but according to a leaked image, Razer is set to introduce its own iPhone gamepad sometime soon.  (more…)

Apple Stores to use iBeacon tech to guide shoppers

The first time we talked about the iBeacon technology was in November when it was announced that Macy’s would be using the tech to guide shoppers around its stores. iBeacon technology uses Bluetooth Low Energy to connect the stores to shoppers depending on where they are in the retail store via an app on a […]

Lightstrap Turns Your iPhone Into A Flash Ring

Lightstrap Turns Your iPhone Into A Flash RingWhen it comes to low-light photography with our smartphones, most phones tend to struggle, save for the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the LG G2, both of which appear to handle low-light photography relatively well, albeit somewhat noisier than I would have like, personally. For those who don’t enjoy the noise on their photos, using flash would be the next best thing, although in most case using flash results in harsh photos, which Apple has attempted to correct in the iPhone 5s. Well if you’re sick of having bad photos in low-light situations or night shots, then the Lightstrap is definitely a Kickstarter project worth checking out.

As you can see in the photo above, the Lightstrap is an iPhone casing that comes with an LED ring around the back of it, similar to a photographer’s flash ring. Lightstrap will allow iPhone photographers to choose from seven brightness levels and six color temperatures. Its creators, a father and son team comprising of Ben and Cassidy Clawson, claim that the Lighstrap will offer 10 times the brightness of the flash in the iPhone 5s. It sounds like a great idea and based on what we can see in the sample photos, it helps a lot. If you’re interested in learning more or to pledge your donation, be sure to hit up its Kickstarter page for the details!

Typo Keyboard Is An Upcoming Keyboard Case For The iPhone

Typo Keyboard Is An Upcoming Keyboard Case For The iPhoneWe’re sure there are still plenty of smartphone users out there who might prefer the tactile feedback and the familiarity of typing on a keyboard, like the BlackBerry Q10 for example. However there are also those who might acknowledge that a physical keyboard is great, but at the same time don’t want to miss out on having a larger touchscreen display. Well if you’re an iPhone user and wouldn’t mind a physical keyboard to go along with your device, you might be in luck as TV host and celebrity, Ryan Seacrest along with a venture co-founder will be investing $1 million into a keyboard case for the iPhone, which is called the Typo Keyboard.

The pair are expected to further invest an extra $5 million over the course of time. According to Seacrest he was inspired by his friends’ difficulties of carrying two phones around: an iPhone and another device for “typing and correspondence”. The Typo Keyboard is essentially an iPhone case with a BlackBerry-style keyboard at the bottom (as pictured above) and will begin shipping in January for $99. As it stands the keyboard case will only play nicely with iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s units running iOS 6 or later. It will pair with the phone via Bluetooth and will pack a180mAh battery. It’s an interesting idea although it does make the phone look really long and unwieldy, but for more info or place your pre-order, hit up their website for the details.

Xiaomi CEO Admits The iPhone Is Still The Best Smartphone

Xiaomi CEO Admits The iPhone Is Still The Best SmartphoneWhile there is only one Steve Jobs, it has not stopped others from trying to mimic his style or leadership skills, and over in China, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has been likened to Apple’s late co-founder before, a title which he did not seem to want too much. While Xiaomi has pretty interesting and unique smartphones of their own and have managed to sell them in record breaking times, it seems that at the end of the day, Jun still believes that Apple’s iPhone is the best smartphone in the world.

This is according to an interview that Jun did with the Beijing News where Jun was quoted as saying, “iPhone is still the best smartphone on the planet […] For Xiaomi there’s a lot of space for learning and talent.” It’s good to see that CEOs such as Jun still have the ability to be humble despite his company experiencing a fair amount of success in China. For example Xiaomi is actually the fifth most used smartphone brand in China, losing higher positions to the likes of international tech giants such as Samsung and Apple.

In fact Xiaomi is so prominent to the point where they managed to lure former Android executive, Hugo Barra, over to their team, where Barra was vowed to transform Xiaomi into the next Google or Amazon.

President Barack Obama Has No iPhone Due To “Security Reasons”

President Barack Obama Has No iPhone Due To “Security Reasons”Despite being what many would deem to be the most powerful man in the world, President Barack Obama is still bound by certain rules and regulations. For instance, as much as he would like to use an iPhone as his regular communications device, he is unable to do so because of “security reasons”. In fact, when President Barack Obama jumped on board as the President of the U.S., you could more or less say that he and the BlackBerry were virtually inseparable. When he attempted to work out a deal for a “cooler” handset to use in the Oval Office, he ended up with a BlackBerry 8830 World Edition that carried a special app within known as SecureVoice, which ironically delivered top secret information from the NSA.

His two daughters, however, are iPhone users, and he did share that he has an iPad 2 but does not own an iPhone. That iPad 2 is extra special, since it was given to him by the late Steve Jobs over a Silicon Valley dinner a couple of years ago. So far, President Obama claims that only 10 people have his personal email address, which is interesting to note since it would be easy to keep track of incoming mail each day.

Apple and China Mobile pen iPhone deal after months of rumors, says sources

Rumors and speculation regarding an Apple and China Mobile partnership have been around for a long time, and such would represent a huge move on Apple’s part. Back in September, sources spoke to the Wall Street Journal claiming that Apple would be sending iPhone 5c models to China Mobile, though they couldn’t confirm whether an […]
