The Foaster Is An iPhone Charger Shaped Like A Toaster

The Foaster Is An iPhone Charger Shaped Like A Toaster

If you own a smartphone, one of the last places you’re going to want to put your device into is a toaster. We can’t deny that it sounds like a completely crazy time to toast the hell out of your smartphone, but considering how much damage it’ll receive in the process, we can see why most people would restrain themselves. But for some reason, designer Mike Charles couldn’t fight his urges, thus he created the Foaster. (more…)

Wowwee RoboMe turns iPhone into a robot

Robotic toys aren’t that uncommon on the market today. Some of them are more like engineering projects than toy kits, but others are designed for people that just want to play. Toy manufacturer WowWee has announced a new robot aimed at kids looking for a simple robot to play with. The robot is called RoboMe […]

Broken iPhone Components Get Recycled Into Furniture

Broken iPhone Components Get Recycled Into FurnitureGadgets can be pretty fragile and they do break occasionally, especially if one is particularly butter-fingered, but what do we do with our broken gadgets? Do we throw them away? Replace them? Fix it? Well iPhone repair company, Twice Used, is used to coming across broken components during their business and instead of simply throwing away things like broken screens and whatnot, they have decided to do the green thing which is to reuse those broken components by finding a new use for them and giving them a new lease on life.

The image above is one of the many projects that Twice Used has done and as you can see, it involves the screens of the iPhone, which when combined have transformed those components into a rather stylish looking clock. Apart from clocks, they have come up with coffee table ideas, picture frames, and etc. which are all pretty clever. The downside is that there aren’t that many screens to go around which is why the company has launched a Kickstarter campaign in which they are seeking partnerships with other repair companies to take their broken components off their hands. If you’d like to learn more or perhaps pledge your donation, hit up their Kickstarter page for the details!

Amazon’s Lovefilm finally launches iPhone app in the UK

Amazon brings its secondfiddle Lovefilm service to the iPhone and iPod Touch

Whereas Netflix has expanded quickly onto numerous mobile platforms in the UK, Amazon can’t claim the same for its own streaming service, Lovefilm. Aside from the obvious Kindle support, Lovefilm’s iOS app has been iPad-only for two years, with iPhone and iPod Touch owners only being included from today. On the plus side, the app brings AirPlay and IMdB integration, and Lovefilm has been working hard to rack up more content in the UK — having historically been regarded as stronger than Netflix in terms of its movie library. Meanwhile, there’s still nary a peep of a Lovefilm Android app — something even the most recent streaming contender, Wuaki.tv, has managed to deliver.
