One of our all-time favorite bluetooth speakers has got to be Jawbone’s Jambox as it’s able to kick out just the right amount of sound from its small frame. One thing the Jambox hasn’t been able to do is survive a backyard pool party as combining it with water is something that would certainly damage the device, but today, Jawbone is now making its Jambox splash resistant for an additional fee. Jawbone Jambox Liquipel option makes Bluetooth speakers water-resistant

Beginning today, you can now waterproof — or, at the very least, water-resist — your Jambox wireless speakers when you order through the Jawbone website. The treatment option comes by way of a Jawbone partnership with Liquipel, the company responsible for the microscopically thin coating of liquid repellant found in some of today’s high-tech devices. Jambox and Mini Jambox score a water-resistant option for an extra $50

Sure, you might shrug off peril when it comes to placing portable speakers near the tub or sink, but it wouldn’t hurt to have an added line of defense. To that end, Jawbone is now giving folks who purchase a Mini Jambox or its normally-sized counterpart from their website the option to add Liquipel 2.0 protection for an extra $50. The coating bestows hardware with an IPX-5 rating, which lends it protection from water splashed upon it from all angles. It might not be the time of year to bust out your super soaker or dip into a pool, but you can prepare for summer by picking up one of the specially-treated gadgets at the bordering source link.

    Jawbone Up24 Introduced

Jawbone Up24 IntroducedJawbone, famous for their Aliph headset, also has had their fair share of downs in the past. For instance, there were at least a couple of instances where a fitness tracker was finally rolled out that did not break after just a few days’ of usage. Apart from that, there were at least a trio of generations of fitness trackers before one was actually produced which could actually synchronize users’ sleep and activity data without having to plug it in. We are glad to say that with their latest Jawbone Up24, this comes in the form of a fitness tracker which is capable of synchronizing sans any wires. This would definitely be a whole lot more convenient experience, which is a U-turn from previous Jawbone “policy” that stubbornly refused wireless synchronization in the past.

Jawbone has also released version 3.0 of its iOS app, where within it will include several features which will only function on the new Up24. Imagine receiving live notifications that allow y to meet your fitness goals. Apart from that, since the Jawbone Up24 will also function via Bluetooth connectivity, you are able to set a vibrating “Smart Alarm” when using the app. The app itself is also compatible majority with the old Up band, just so you know.

Jawbone UP24 and UP 3.0 Review

You can’t accuse Jawbone of taking shortcuts with its fitness wearables. The company prematurely pulled the plug on the original 2011 UP and took it back to the lab to work on battery and stability for a year before the 2012 version was released, and it’s taken another twelve months for Jawbone to settle on […]

Jawbone’s New UP24 Finally Brings Bluetooth to the Party

Jawbone's New UP24 Finally Brings Bluetooth to the Party

It’s kind of hard to believe, but Jawbone—a company that was built on Bluetooth—didn’t have a wireless radio in the first two iterations of its fitness tracker, the Jawbone UP. That finally changes today with the introduction of the Jawbone UP24.

Jawbone Opens UP API To Developers

Jawbone Opens UP API To Developers

The Jawbone UP launched just last year to allow its users to be able to track what they do on a daily basis, although if you’re the type of person who sits on the couch all day long, it might be a waste to own one. But that’s besides the point as today, Jawbone is announcing they have released an API for its UP that will allow developers to create applications that help owners of the device make the most out of their purchase.
