Cold Bruer does cold-freshly brewed coffee

Many people do require a cup of freshly brewed coffee each morning in order to kick start their day. Of course, these cups of coffee tend to be piping hot, and the aroma is simply irresistible. Well, the folks over at Bruer have come up with what they have called the Cold Bruer, and for obvious reasons, of course. The Cold Bruer is a special device that will be able to churn out cold-freshly brewed coffee. It was made possible thanks to a successful crowd-funding campaign, where the Cold Bruer is able to offer any ice-coffee drinker a simple device that is capable of making fresh home brewed coffee – which is cold, of course.

The Cold Bruer comes in a compact form factor that is also extremely easy to use, where it is capable of processing up to 24 ounces of water alongside a couple of ounces of coffee, which would end up yielding three cups of cold brewed coffee extract. The amount of brewing time pays homage to the adage that “good things come to those who wait”, where it can be anywhere between two and eighteen hours. This particular extract can then be poured over ice, where it can be mixed with water or with dairy in order to yield approximately half a dozen cups of cold brew. This coffee extract can be refrigerated for up to a fortnight after brewing.

What advantage does a cold brew have over the standard issue coffee that you find in your local Starbucks? Well, cold brew is sweet, less acidic as well as less bitter compared to traditional hot coffee, which might just find a new set of fans who will fall in love after the first sip. Those who are interested in picking up the Cold Bruer will be able to place a pre-order for a special limited time price of $55, with shipping set to commence later next January. I guess this means we will not be able to find this under the Christmas tree later this December.

Turntable Kitchen Timer helps you crank up some mean tasting dishes

turntable-kitchen-timerSome of us are born with the natural ability to be able to whip up a dish in the kitchen that is fit for a king, never mind that the amount of ingredients available to us are but just meager pickings. Well, others are not all that good in the kitchen, and will need the help of some tools to make sure that every dish turns out just about right. A kitchen timer is essential then, if you are going to keep track of plenty of things, so why not play it differently with the $13.99 Turntable Kitchen Timer?

This is one DJ-themed analog timer that is a snap to use. To set the amount of time you want it to count down to, just spin the white arrow on the record to the desired time. It is a whole lot more easy compared to scratching a track and trying to get everyone else on the dance floor to feel your vibe, that is for sure. This is a 60-minute timer, and there are no batteries required to power this puppy. It is about as old school as it can get, and yet gets the job done to make sure that you know when is the right time to remove the turkey from the oven.

Bunn Trifecta MB Coffee Machine Review

Coffee. Delicious, wonderful coffee. Some of us are fueled by it throughout the day; to others it’s an occasional treat first thing in the morning or straight after dinner. There’s no one “right” way to brew it, and traditional methods like espresso, drip, and French press sit alongside newer upstarts like Clover. Wading into the […]

The iKettle wants you to have a swell day

iKettle
There’s nothing like a nice hot cup of tea in the morning. It wakes you up, gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, and preps you for the day ahead. If you are as fond of hot beverages as I am, then one cup is normally just the beginning of many to come. However, our natural laziness deters us from making it as often as we’d like.

The idea of having a butler or maid bringing you tea throughout the day is a nice one, but most certainly something we can’t afford. In our unrelenting quest to make our lives easier, we looks towards gadgets and gizmos. Sometimes they can do the work for us, or cut down on our load. While making a cup of tea isn’t necessarily a difficult task, the iKettle will make it a little more easy.

This hot pot can be controlled through an app on your phone, and can also act as a wake up call. It will send you a text in the morning asking if you’d like a cuppa, and you can program it to ask you again as you’re coming home from work. Of course, you can also turn it on pretty much any time from your phone as well, just make sure you remembered to put in plenty of water. It doesn’t have an internal element, and is made of stainless steel, so it can stand being on for a while. There are different heat setting for different types of tea or coffee, and also has an option for keeping warm. This will cost you around $160, and will likely have you drinking more tea than you ever intended to.

Day and Night Mug adds some flavor to the pantry

day-and-night-mugMost pantries are pretty boring, and that is to be expected. After all, it is the place where you put plenty of mugs, plates, as well as various beverages, with all of the office gossip happening over at the water cooler. Well, instead of carrying around one of those standard issue mugs with a company logo on it, or something that used to be witty, or perhaps even the “World’s Best Dad” mug, why not try something which is very different – in the form of the $9.99 Day and Night mug?

This is a unique mug which boasts of heat sensitive qualities, where it will show you the entire planet in its glory – right from outer space, of course. Needless to say, it comes with a “default setting” that is night, after all, you aren’t going to fill it up with hot water all the time, are you? This would let you know just when it is time to finish off that favorite beverage of yours before it becomes too cold. Basically, it works this way – whenever you add any hot beverage into the mug, the sun would arise and cause its face to shine over the entire earth as you enjoy a bird’s eye view of this planet we call home. As always, just like all of the other heat sensitive items that we have talked about before, neither is the Day and Night mug dishwasher or microwave safe.

Emulstir Salad Dressing Mixer – store bought, I think not!

emulstir_salad_dressing_mixer_mix
There’s something special about having a ‘home-cooked’ meal. Maybe it’s because it brings the family together, or maybe it’s because all the ingredients came from the kitchen, and not a factory. Making your own food tastes far better than what you can buy at the store, but the main issue we face is that thinking up recipes, buying food, prepping, cooking, and cleanup takes up too much time.

While we may not be able to bake our own bread and cook elaborate meals every night, that doesn’t mean we can’t create some aspects of our meal. The Emulstir Salad Dressing Mixer will take some of the work out of making a tasty addition for your salads. Normally you’d have to measure everything out and shake the dickens out of the bottle until everything is equally distributed.

The Emulstir will stir up what ever concoction you like with a squeeze of the handle. It can hold up to 7 ounces of dressing, and can be stored in the fridge. The plastic is BPA-free for those of you who are conscious of that sort of thing, and it can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher. It’ll cost you $15, and comes with a bunch of recipes for various dressings on the side. Neat idea and all but really, this isn’t saving you any time, more that it’s requiring less physical work from you for one aspect of a meal.

Thirsty Bird Water Dispenser increases your cuteness factor

thirsty-bird-dispenserHow many of you out there actually keep a birdhouse so that you can invite some of your feathered friends over to make music for you in the mornings? There is nothing quite like the uplifting songs of birds in the early morning as dawn breaks, and apart from that, you will also find their antics in a birdbath rather funny and adorable. Well, since birds bring such joy to you, you might as well do the same to others at home or at the office, although this time around, there is nothing organic about the $36.99 Thirsty Bird Water Dispenser.

Rather, the Thirsty Bird Water Dispenser is a constant reminder for us to make sure that our bodies are well hydrated, getting the minimum 8 glasses of water each day. Not only that, it also informs you on how much water you have actually consumed, so that you will be on track to be a healthy office drone. The easy to build design would enable you to attach your personal sized water bottle to the base. It will come with a cap adapter just in case your bottle size happens to be different. All you need to do when thirst strikes is to pull the cute little green bird, and water will quickly dispense into the waiting cup.

Purifying Cutting Board System will keep your kitchen organized and germ-free

Purifying Cutting Board System
Cooking seems like a thing of the past for a lot of us. Meals are on the go or frozen before we eat them, because the time it takes to make one doesn’t fit into our schedules. There seem to be less and less ‘home-cooked meals’ happening. When we do make it into the kitchen though, there’s always a lot of cleanup involved in the aftermath. If you do a poor job with this aspect, then you’ll be looking at all sorts of tasty bacteria floating around the place you prepare your food.

While a good wash in the sink goes a long way, many are still worried about the potential health hazards that could be hanging around. If you want to make sure things get nice and clean, then the Purifying Cutting Board System may give you the peace of mind you’re looking for. Seeing that these are used the most, and are an awkward size, it seems only right to go the extra mile to get rid of germs.

This is a stand that will hold four cutting boards, and has a 254 nanometer light that will “destroy the DNA and cell membranes of virtually all microorganisms”. Essentially, any viruses or germs that wanted to stick around won’t be able to. Not only is this a neat way to keep your boards clean, but the colored ones could help you know what you cut on each board (meat, veggies, fruits, miscellaneous). This whole setup with four cutting boards will cost you anywhere from $100-200 depending on where you shop.

p/Battle Mug for the battle hardened road warrior

pbattle-mugA mug is a mug, is a mug, right? Apparently, the answer is not quite so. Enter the $44.99 p/Battle Mug which will most probably get some people thinking, just why should I spend so much money just to purchase a particular mug? After all, are there not far more affordable options out there in the market? I suppose if you want quality, you will need to fork out for it, and the p/Battle Mug is a more affordable option for those of you out there who do not want to have a go at the full Battle Mug experience.

Sporting a M1913 rail interface system that will allow you to mount your beer goggles (lol!), it is fully made in the good ol’ US of A, which is in the same vein as that of the Moto X from Motorola. The p/Battle Mug will definitely be a whole lot different from other ordinary mugs that read, “World’s Greatest Dad” or “Best Mom Ever!” Such lesser mugs tend to hold around 8 oz. of your favorite beverage, and are as tough as your next ceramic mug. Not so with the p/Battle Mug, since it is made out of space-age polymer and can hold a whopping 24 oz. of your piping hot beverage without missing a beat.
