Nexus 5 release imminent as Bluetooth SIG appearance foretells

We’ve seen the LG-made Nexus 5 from every which-way but straight from Google, and this week it’s gone and appeared with the Bluetooth Special Interest Group as well. This device is showing up with Bluetooth 4.0 and fully equipped to work with the Bluetooth LE or Low Energy universe of devices, sticking in another piece […]

Additional Nexus 5 Photos Leaked

Additional Nexus 5 Photos LeakedSo, the Nexus 5 has already received approval from the Bluetooth SIG, and here we are with even more alleged photos of the device. After all, there has been rumors going around that Google could unveil the Nexus 5 smartphone as early as next week to the world, although it might not be available for purchase at least until later in October at best, or perhaps see the availability date pushed back all the way to the middle of November. Italian site TuttoAndroid has managed to upload some images of the alleged smartphone, where it was seen running on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

So far, most of the images that were posted up did not debunk any of the previous rumors, but rather confirmed them instead. The icons in the notification area do seem to be white (although we will not be ruling out the possibility of it being customizable). Apart from that, there is also a Tap & Pay option that is located in the settings area, which could point to integrated Google Wallet functionality, assuming the handset which runs on Android 4.4 KitKat comes with NFC capability.

Not only that, it does seem as though Google Cloud Print has been thrown into the mix as well, making it a snap to send content directly from your device to a computer that is hooked up to the Internet. Anyone interested in the Nexus 5?

Android 4.4 KitKat and Nexus 5 appear in photos in Italy

This week someone all the way over in Italy appears to have gotten their hands on a Nexus 5 running no less than Android 4.4 KitKat. This build seems to be final or certainly near-final with a collection of features we’ve either only heard rumors of or have never seen before. Working with build KRS92B […]

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini And Galaxy Mega To Receive Android 4.4 KitKat

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini And Galaxy Mega To Receive Android 4.4 KitKatThere has been a bit of sniffing around done, where an internal Samsung KNOX document did point to the South Korean manufacturer’s plans to roll out Android 4.4 KitKat to both the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega in due time. This would come about after said devices receive updates to Samsung’s security app. Of course, we all know that there are two different Samsung Galaxy Mega models, with one of them being the Galaxy Mega 5.8 while the other is the Galaxy Mega 6.3, so we will just make the assumption at this point in time that regardless of your Mega model, it will still be on the receiving end of Android 4.4 KitKat.

Having said that, you would most probably heave a sigh of relief knowing that your smartphone will still be hanging around for quite some time with Android 4.4 KitKat installed on them, since there would be no good reason other to upgrade to a newer model other than a change in scenery where hardware specifications are concerned. It would be nice to see an official list of all devices that would receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update for sure though, as that could prove to be the basis for a mobile phone purchase roadmap for some of us. Google celebrates 15th birthday in its original home: a garage

As it seems to be with all great technology projects, Google started in a garage. As any garage band can tell you, great inspiration comes from working in someone’s personal space, dreaming of the greatness of a dedicated home base – for Google, that time was 15 years ago this week. To celebrate, Google has […]

More Android 4.4 KitKat Screenshots Spotted

More Android 4.4 KitKat Screenshots SpottedWe have seen our fair share news concerning the upcoming Nexus 5 which is supposedly meant to be manufactured by the folks over at LG, and most recently, an alleged Nexus 5 was seen in the wild with what is claimed to be the Android 4.4 KitKat boot screen. Well, here we are with additional Android 4.4 KitKat screens spotted, where the leaked images reveal a redesigned phone dialer as well as messaging app as a teaser.

The phone dialer itself will feature a light color scheme that would be a rather major move away from its existing look. As for the messaging app, it would see its controls transferred over to the top right corner in comparison to the bottom setup that many folks have all come to know and love. Apart from that, the screenshots also point to lighter color icons that are located in the status bar. As for the status bar itself, it has a color scheme which also appears to be changing, depending on what app is in action at the moment. All eyes are on the second half of October for the Android 4.4 KitKat’s release, so stay tuned as we await for more ”feelers”. Are you looking forward to Android 4.4 KitKat?
