Motorola Looks To Deliver Android 4.4 KitKat To Droid MAXX And Droid Ultra AgainYou know what they say – if at first you do not succeed, try again. This is exactly what the folks over at Motorola has done, where they first began to introduce the Android 4.4 KitKat update to its new range of Verizon DROIDs approximately one month back – that is, December 19th, before Motorola was flooded by a fair number of reports that this particular update actually resulted in the bricking of user devices. Well, it does seem as though such issues have been fixed, as there is a new rollout that is happening for the Droid MAXX as well as Droid Ultra again.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 To Get Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 To Get Android 4.4.2 KitKat Do you happen to be in possession of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3? Well, if you have answered in the affirmative, then you might be interested to know that there is a new ROM (an unofficial one, of course) that is available, where it will deliver Android 4.4.2 KitKat goodness to your favorite phablet. Do bear in mind that this particular version of the unofficial ROM will be a test version for the SM-N9005 model, where it carries the firmware version N9005XXUENA6, making it one of the final builds. I guess that would translate to Samsung keeping pretty much about everything on it, other than a few bug kills and performance improvements.

Having said that, we could be as close as 1 to 2 weeks away from the official update rolling out, but to have it arrive on everyone’s phablets might still take some time. The changes that can be expected from this particular update could be similar to those found on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition. Status bar icon colors have been given a new coat of white, while the lockscreen itself will also feature a shortcut to the camera, apart from the implementation of full-screen album art whenever you are playing back some music.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat Test Build Leaks Out

Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat Test Build Leaks OutSamsung’s flagship smartphone, at least for the moment, is the Samsung Galaxy S4, so what better way to treat your flagship device than to introduce the latest version of the mobile operating system for it? We have received word that the Android 4.4 KitKat test build has already leaked out, where this particular test build has targeted the Samsung Galaxy S4. The leaked test build of the new firmware is meant for the GT-I9505 version of the Galaxy S4, which so happens to be the model that supports LTE connectivity, and with it, the main change where looks are concerned would be the status bar alongside its all-white icons. These tend to be in line with some of the recently published Google guidelines, while the green shade that Samsung had stuck to for so long to depict its battery icon has been dropped.

Apart from that, a new camera shortcut now appears on the lockscreen to make it faster for you to enter camera mode from a locked position, but apart from that, it is pretty much the same TouchWiz experience that many would have gotten used to since Android 4.3. This does throw some light on another matter though – the recently leaked TouchWiz design might only arrive with the next version of the Galaxy S handset, and not in this generation. Only time will tell.
