Konami Code Easter Egg Appears On Google’s Voice Search

The famous Konami Code is back again, and this time around it would be Google’s very own Voice Search that offers you access to unlimited free Google searches. Yes, that was a joke, as performing a Google search does not cost you any money at all in the first place, but still, it is cool to go to a Google search bar and speak via Voice Search, saying “Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right.”

[SPOILER] Bravely Default Easter Egg Uses Konami Code

I love Bravely Default. It’s one of the best RPGs I’ve played in a long time. I had so much fun playing it that I made a mini-guide for a certain part of the game. So I headed to GameFAQs, and while I was figuring out how to write my guide I came upon this neat Easter Egg for the game. I can’t describe the trick without spoiling a major feature of the game though. You’ve been warned.

Here’s your final warning. SPOILERS INCOMING! Okay, Amigo-bot, here’s the trick. As you know, the game’s Start screen has four main options. Normally the fourth option will only be unlocked if you get the game’s “true ending”, which needless to say takes a long time to obtain. But YouTuber Shmiam found out that you can temporarily unlock that option by entering the Konami Code. More specifically, at the Start Screen, point the cursor to the fourth option then enter the code. The contents of that option are shown in Shmiam’s video as well, so you might want to stop watching after he demonstrates the trick.

I already got the fourth option before I found out about this trick, so I can’t verify if it works. That said, when I tried it I also heard the exact same sound effect that Shmiam got. Switch to the Browser Job and head to GameFAQs if you want further assurance that the code works.

DanceDanceRevolution Classroom Edition Could Help Reduce Childhood Obesity

[CES 2014] Video games have been frowned upon by many people over the years, especially the old school types, as they figure out that video games are nothing but bad news for young people since it distracts them from everything else in life, not to mention it also seem to promote an unhealthy lifestyle as one sits in front of the flat screen TV all day long, munching on nothing but pizza and drinking soda. Well, not all video games are like that, as some will require you to exert yourself physically more than usual. Case in point, DanceDanceRevolution Classroom Edition from Konami that will be introduced at a California school, apart from current programs in Florida, Georgia and Texas.

This particular collaboration with Zamzee intends to check out the impact of wearable activity meters which will be able to monitor health and activity levels of students in Florida, Georgia and Texas. As to whether this particular effort will be able to help reduce childhood obesity via school-based health programs, that remains to be seen, but as many things in life, only time will be able to tell. Personally, I would still recommend exercise and sports alongside a healthy diet as the primary way of losing weight, how about you?

Konami Code Tattoo Is So Cool It May Give 30 Extra Lives

Konami Code Tattoo Is So Cool It May Give 30 Extra LivesOne of the most well known cheat codes in video game history has to be the infamous Konami code. Nearly all gamers should know this code by heart, and even some non-gamers probably know it since it’s made its way to a number of products as an easter egg. Vogue UK and the Chromebook Pixel are two products that recently used the Konami code, although if you for some reason need help remembering it, then you should either date this gentleman or be him.

Kevin Pacheco sent over an image of his brand-new tattoo to the folks over at Fashionably Geek, which he says he designed himself. As you can see from the tattoo, the classic NES directional pad, “B” and “A” buttons as well as the word “Start” are all true to their original source. For those of you who are yelling at the screen saying, “WHERE’S THE SELECT?!?”, Kevin reminds us that the select is only used when a second Contra player is present. If there’s no second player, then there’s no need for the select button to be used. Keep that in mind the next time you’re playing video games trivia as it may make or break your street cred as a gamer.

Konami Surveying Gamers About Possible Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Sequel

Konami Surveying Gamers About Possible Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance SequelEarlier this year Konami launched Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and the good news is that if you enjoyed the game, it seems that Konami could be interested in developing a sequel for it, assuming that they aren’t secretly working on it already. If one were to hit up the official Metal Gear website, Konami points visitors to a survey where they ask visitors and gamers about what they would like to see in a possible sequel, if it were to be developed.

The survey asks questions about what players liked or disliked bout the game, the characters, the boss fights, mechanics, and more. Participants in the survey were also polled on whether they enjoyed the storyline, the humorous elements, and whether or not like liked Raiden as a character in Metal Gear franchise. It seems like a pretty extensive survey and a lot of the questions do seem like they are genuinely interested in gamer feedback to help develop a possible sequel, rather than simply asking if they enjoyed the game. There’s no telling what will come from this survey, but if you’d like offer your own input, hit up the survey and let your opinion be heard!
