LG F90 (LG Volt) Set To Arrive On Sprint

LG F90 (LG Volt) Set To Arrive On SprintEarlier at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, we saw the unveiling of two brand new Android-powered phones that will occupy the mid-range category, where the two of them will sport LTE 4G connectivity. Known as the LG F70 and the LG F90, the latter was shown off as a Sprint model, where it carried a far more interesting name of Volt compared to the model number alone. Just what kind of hardware specifications does the LG F90 aka Volt bring to the table? We are looking at a 4.7” qHD display, an 8-megapixel shooter at the back, a Snapdragon 400 processor, NFC support, a removable 3,000 mAh battery, tri-band LTE (Sprint Spark,) IR remote control, and a memory card slot for expansion purposes.

LG Knock Code To Arrive For Low-Mid Ranged Devices

LG Knock Code To Arrive For Low Mid Ranged DevicesAbout a week ago, LG announced Knock Code which was an evolution of the company’s Knock On feature. Basically what it does is that it allows users to “knock” a pattern on their phone in order to unlock it, even if the screen was off. LG claims that Knock Code is safer than Touch ID, especially when there are over 80,000 different combinations out there.

That being said, the good news is that LG has also announced that the Knock Code feature will not be limited to LG’s higher-end handsets, but will also be incorporated into the company’s low-mid ranged devices. This move is apparently LG’s way of making sure that they will be able to recapture their 3rd place ranking in worldwide sales of mobile devices. (more…)

    LG F90 Mid-Ranged Handset Unveiled

LG F90 Mid Ranged Handset UnveiledThe other day LG announced the LG F70 which was a mid-ranged phone. This came as something of a surprise given that LG had previously unveiled the LG G Pro 2 and the L90, L70, and L40 handsets ahead of MWC 2014, so we had thought perhaps that was all LG had to offer this year.

Well it looks like apart from the LG F70, the company also has an LG F90 which they have also unveiled. Just like the F70, the F90 will not be a high-end affair so if you’re looking for a smartphone with all the bells and whistles, chances are the LG G Pro 2 will be your best bet for now. (more…)

    LG G Pro 2 Hands-On Review

The LG G Pro 2 launched last week in Korea and yesterday I was able to briefly play with it at the LG press conference. Just like the LG G flex, the display is amazing and, despite its large size (5.9-inch) the device feels surprisingly light. The manufacturer managed to keep the footprint small, thanks to a super thin 0.4 mm bezel! At 172 g, the new LG flagship is only 3g heavier than its smaller competitor the Samsung Galaxy Note which is equipped with a 5.7-inch display.

LG Created a Magazine Ad as Thin as Its OLED TV

To really drive home the fact of just how thin the company’s latest OLED TVs were, LG’s advertising firm in Sweden, M&C Saatchi Stockholm, created a brilliant ad for the spine of a magazine called Sound & Vision since it turned out both were around four millimeters thick.

LG Does Not Do Windows Phone…Yet

LG Does Not Do Windows Phone...YetThe Windows Phone platform from Microsoft has had its biggest “fan” in the form of Nokia, once a heavyweight in the world of mobile phones before smartphones made featurephones irrelevant. Having said that, the likes of Samsung and HTC have churned out Windows Phone-powered smartphones in the past that can be counted on just the fingers that are on one hand, preferring instead to concentrate on the Android-powered platform by Google instead. Well, while Microsoft has announced earlier today that LG happens to be one of the hardware developers for the Windows Phone platform, it seems as though LG has not yet made any concrete plans to churn out handsets which will run on Windows Phone.
