According to our previous report, LG is said to be working on a smartwatch for 2014 which could be known as the LG G Arch. According to the folks at Engadget who reached out to LG for confirmation on the rumors, it seems that while they will not comment on smartwatch rumors, the company did confirm that they had a wearable product in the works. We’re not sure if they’re being cryptic on purpose, or if this wearable product is actually not a smartwatch but something else entirely. Perhaps it could be the fitness band, the LG G Health, that has been rumored about?
In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but to hear that more companies are entering the smartwatch market space is no surprise. After all we have seen companies such as Samsung, Motorola and Sony attempt similar devices themselves, not to mention the incredibly popular Kickstarter campaign for the Pebble smartwatch which proved that one did not have to be from a big tech company to create a popular product. Speaking of big tech companies, the rumors have also suggested that companies such as Apple and Google could be looking to release smartwatches of their own as well, with Apple’s own offering being referred to as the iWatch for now.

It was a few months ago that LG launched the LG G2 which was the South Korean tech company’s flagship smartphone for 2013. It was an impressive handset and it also featured a new design from the company (which some have compared to Samsung’s designs) and also packed a pretty decent camera that could give the Nokia Lumia 1020 a run for its money in terms of low-light photography. That being said, we’re sure many are interested in seeing what the LG G3 could have to offer, but is it too soon to start hearing about LG G3 rumors?
Well make what you will of it, but recent rumors have surfaced regarding the potential specifications of the upcoming handset. For starters it is believed that just like other phones before it, like the Vivo Xplay 3S and the upcoming Oppo Find 7, and the rumor specs of the Samsung Galaxy S5, the LG G3 is rumored to feature a 2560×1440 display, although no word on screen size just yet. Additional specs include an octa-core processor which is rumored to be of LG’s own make, and a 16MP rear-facing camera. No word on when the LG G3 will be launched, but some are speculating it could be earlier than expected in a bid to make up for “disappointing” LG G2 sales.
Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more details as they surface. In the meantime what do you guys make of the rumored specs so far? It seems that 2014 could the year of QHD displays!

We have heard the rumors that LG is planning on debuting a smartwatch of their own come 2014, and according to the recent rumors, it seems that we can look forward to the device being known as the LG G Arch. On top of that, the recent rumors have also corroborated earlier claims that LG could also be working on a fitness device of sorts which could be known as the LG G Health. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but some are speculating that the devices could debut either at CES 2014 or MWC 2014, but since we will be live at either event, we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information and will update you guys accordingly.
Smartwatches have definitely started to rise in popularity, with companies such as Motorola and Sony having released smartwatches of their own, and with Samsung hopping on board the bangwagon as well with their Samsung Galaxy Gear. In fact if the rumors are to be believed, we can look forward to more smartwatches come 2014 as tech giants such as Apple and Google have been rumored to be making an entrance into the smartwatch market with their own offerings as well. Either way it looks like 2014 could be an interesting year for technology and we are definitely looking forward to it!

Korean University Professor Believes Flexible Displays To Become Mainstream In 2014
Posted in: Today's ChiliBoth Samsung and LG have unveiled devices with flexible displays in the form of the Galaxy Round and the G Flex, and while both devices have flexible displays in the sense that they are able to bend and hold its shape, they aren’t truly flexible in the sense of the word, and based on what we can see, we might expect such displays to become available only in a few years’ time. However a professor at one of South Korea’s top universities, Kim Yun-hi, believes that truly flexible displays could become available in the mainstream market in 2014, and that in a few years’ time, displays that can be rolled out and put into our pockets will become mainstream as well.
So why does Kim believe that this will happen? Well as it stands, Kim’s group of researchers are currently responsible for developing a flexible organic polymer that will allow for bending and flexing in displays, as opposed to current technology which allows screens to be curved. It is also her research that companies are reportedly interested in, which we guess could explain her confidence that such displays could indeed hit the market as early as 2014. However devices like the Galaxy Round and G Flex feel more gimmicky than functional, but who knows what the future has in store for us?
